As a PSR-E463 user, I'm happy to see the number of improvements made by Yamaha on the PSR-E473 after 4 years. Good to know that this keyboard comes with 61 more voices, 55 more styles, motion effects, direct category access that allows the user to select his favorite voices as quickly as possible, and finally a Super articulation button! Can't wait to see how the new Mega boost function works. Also, I'm glad to know that Yamaha has finally added a mic input port to connect a microphone and sing along with our playing. Thanks for the news Jeremy!

E463 and any keyboard with an AUX input can take in a microphone. I simply use a BONAK karaoke microphone (around 30 US$), connected to my E443 keyboard using standard audio cable (1/8" connector on both end) and that works great. A normal XLR microphone will not work even with proper adapter. I have done some recording of vocal and keyboard playing on my EW410 (76 key version of the E463).
And very limited too like most Casio boards. They have some nice sounding patches at their price point. As far as patches, I think Yamaha can compete at the low end and blow Casio out the water at the higher end.
I'm looking for the CT-S500. It seems like a good successor to my CT-X800. Easy to use, with all the basic functions and (FINALLY!) L/R outputs. And it can edit sounds, good! I just want to know how it works and the price. If Casio puts a reasonable price, I'll buy it.

The older Casio's are great for beginners (CTK-6000 - if you can find a good used one for under $100) - if you're looking for a new beginners keyboard, Yamaha now has the edge with this E473 - it is better than Casio's CTX line.
find myself wondering how a PSR-S425 would compare to the DGX-670?? Beginning piano player here, trying to teach myself after years of neglect. Great ear, got to learn how to create the sounds I can imagine. I know I will need to start from the beginning and see how it goes. Just want a good solid keyboard that can stick with me for awhile on my journey. Anyone have any thoughts on comparing these two?
Regarding somre orgnan voices, the user's manual on page 11 states the following: "Voices of numbers 28-37 have the same display names on both the PSR-E473 and PSR-EW425. However, on the PSR-EW425, a percussive click sound at key-on/key-off and a leakage sound are added, providing more realistic vintage organ sounds."
Thank you Jeremy! A question to you and everyone who knows the answer: what cand of mic do I need for those keyboards? I guess, it's not an XLR input, right? Thanks!
This is great. But I also saw the new Casio CT-S500 & CT-S1000V at $380 & $450 respectively, still only 64 note polyphony. But if the latter has the CT-S1 sounds that the CT-S400 didn't, I may get that one instead. It has 1/4" stereo master outputs.
Hey Jeremy See ! I have watched so many videos for buying best arranger keyboard under 500$ and I was fixed to buy Casio ct-x5000. Is it worth buying today? But again I am confused for which keyboard should I buy casio ct-x5000 or Yamaha psr-e473? As you already make the video titled 'Surprise winner? Korg EK50 vs Yamaha PSR-EW410 vs Casio CT-X5000' 3 years ago, please make a new video about full comparison between casio ct-x5000 and its all competitors which worth buying today.
Why are you confused? My suggestion would be to not focus on the “best keyboard” in a particular segment and focus on what you think you want and need. Get what best suits your specific use case instead of what is graded as “best” by objective or subjective criteria. If something is “best” all around but another item is better for your particular uses, what purpose does it serve you to have the “best”? The best tool is one you have and can use. That often varies from person to person. Determine your needs and evaluate features against them. Sometimes, you’re better of by not watching so many videos if your can’t adequately parse the information to be selective based upon your particular needs. If there was some universal best option, that would be the only unit that would sell. Some of the best comparisons are done here on this channel and by others. That being said, you still need to evaluate the information provided to make a personalized decision tailored to your needs. Most 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th place keyboards are great options for the users that choose them. Again, it boils down to what you want, what you need, how much you want to spend, and how it works for you. Sometimes if you can’t select between two options, it indicates the differences in your mind are too insignificant to matter in practical terms. I’d wouldn’t be surprised if this channel already has plans to do updated comparisons for availability competing units.
@@matthewgaines10 this is me. As a father that knew nothing about keyboard or piano, i'm suprised when my 9 year old son want to learn keyboard. In my country (Indonesia) PSR E473 just launched weeks ago, so i will buy this one. Why this not casio? casio always feels like toys for me and my wife (remember, we knew nothing) and yamaha has serious piano here, and has many training center (is yamaha music school is still a yamaha? No idea) Why e473, well hopefully this would like iphone or samsung phone that latest generation always better than previous generation. About all other function? I knew nothing about them, but with mic in i hope at least i can use them as karaoke machine with midi files if my sons bored with them... Sorry if this offend any musician here.
Avoid CASIO's CTX series - it is a downfall from their previous CTK models. I bought the CTX-5000 and it wasn't nearly as good as my CASIO CTK-7000. Go with the PSR-E473.
76 keys, pitch bend wheel and metal speaker grilles. I am wondering what the price is for the PSR-EW425. Did they raise the polyphony? It would be great if it has 128 or 256 like most Rolands. I am still on track to get the CT-S1 and still want a Reface CP. But this is a game changer. I am aware it will cost more, but if it is about $350 like my Go:Keys to $400 with the features I mentioned above, it will be worth it to me. It would by a great keyboard to supplement our church worship team and take the place of a Roland V Combo VR-09B and cost a lot less with the bigger 76 key format. And also be a good interim until I get to the level I can validate a Roland RD 88. And the two would be a great rig for my set up along with the Casio CDP-S350 our pastor/worship leader uses. Great but for the future. My Go:Keys, JD-Xi, PSS-A50 will be a great set up with the CT-S1 and Reface CP. Great job, Yamaha. The text on the video displays too fast to read, but Yamaha still has great sound and features for the price. Each keyboard I have now, and plan to get as I stated each has it's unique features for versatility. My Go:Keys has the polyphony, lots of tones, BT and audio input jack, and loop function to function in a different approach to the arranger keyboard rhythms. The CT-S1 has all the sounds and optional BT capability as a great take along keyboard. The PSS-A50 makes a cheap keyboard partner with rhythms and programmable bass or other parts and versatility and compactness. The Reface CP has all the classic electric keyboards and built in effects and even an easter egg grand piano. It would make an even more compact portable duo with the PSS-A50 over the CT-S1. And the JD-Xi is the swiss army knife that can do a lot of things by itself, or with the others. But these new Yamaha keyboards would be a great one to get if you are just getting one keyboard, especially if you need the extra octave of the PSR-EW425.
@@carlcook6830 I think pretty easy once you figure it out. The PSR-E373 was great, vut the PSR-E473 has a whole bunch of new innovative features and expanded and enhanced sound controls and effects.
@@carlcook6830 The DSP effects is in one hand and in the other hand we have the S.Art button which compensates for the loss of the Modulation wheel on non super articulation voices.
I like the Yamaha PSR-EW425 for the larger 76 note keyboard, but it would have to be a later one to get now. The Casio CT-S1000V is too incredible not to get. The CT-S1 is still great, but the vocal synthesis capabilities is almost too good to be true, and the voice tones and effects, especially for the acoustic and electric pianos and organs rival the Yamaha PSR-E473/PSR-EW425. And it's discounted from the suggested MSRP of $679.00 down to $449.00!
Arrrggghhh my EW-310 arrives next week. Ah well, I'm not returning as who knows when these will be available and if I get hooked again I can sell and get a new keyboard later. Looking good though, thank you Jeremy.
Finally it is here. But I'm still waiting for the next Yamaha psr I series keyboard which I wish should have more rhythm variations and more registration memory slots with all the features of Yamaha psr e473.
Hi sir ! Namaste 🙏 I am from Nepal. I am a beginner. So which keyboard would you suggest for me sir ?? As I am thinking about roland XPS 30 but its little bit expensive so.
@@JeremySee Hello sir, I have a doubt that can we record multiple tracks when connected to a piano app or DAW's in a keyboard which has only 2 track song recorder?
Unlike E463, in E473 we can't lay down the samples on the keys. It seems that one shot is the only application of the sampling feature? Unless we record and playback the audio files and music in the same tempo as the Quick sampler Loop tempo.!! As the Quick Sampler Loop tempo is not adjustable.
Is it possible when you press stop to record and record again on same trackt to ad something from the same drum kit. Let say i play drumkick and snare but i want to ad hi hats and perc on the same track from the same kit.
Very good sounding keyboard, but I will never understand how Yamaha will load a keyboard with an incredible amount of features, and sound quality that allows it to compete with boards easily costing more than double the price, yet they don’t add something as basic, been around for decades, and inexpensive…, a MOD wheel. It’s like they’ve decided the mod wheel is just “too pro” for the board.
I believe the enhanced Articulation function can pretty much serve that purpose somewhat. I am already enthused that it finally has a pitch bend wheel and metal speaker grilles, along with the 76 key version and all the upgrades.
here are a few difference Yamaha PSR-E473 vs SX600 *Sound Quality* The PSR-E473 features upto 14 S.Art LITE voices, which are the E Series rendition of the bestselling S, SX, Genos and Tyros Series' Super Articulation voices. However the more superior SX600 has 73 S.Art voices found already on the S and SX Series. We will also focus on its main sound, the Piano. This however, makes the E473 superior in its Piano sound because the E473 has the Live! CFX Concert Grand Piano which is sampled from the top of the line Acoustic Piano with a richer sound. Also it is only found in the Genos and the DGX-670. The PSR-SX600 however, even the SX700 and SX900, retains the old Concert Grand Piano sound sampled from the older Yamaha CF3S, which had its use in 2015 on the release of the PSR-S670, S770 and S970. Yamaha also did not add the S.Art version of the ConcertGrand on the SX600, as found in the S970, S975, SX700 and SX900. *Style quality* Of course there is no way that the E473 can run out of this. With a 6-Track sequencer on the E473 compared to the 8-Track sequencer on the SX600, as well as the use of the MegaVoices, the styles on the E473 are no match to the SX600. One of the biggest drawbacks of the styles currently found on the E463 and E473 are the legacy styles that has been used in the PSRs since 2001. Some of the styles in the E473 are very awesome, like 80sPowerRock, 80sPopRock that was just added to this model. there are outdated ones like the HardRock2 and the 8BeatModern which has to be removed in future models as its outlived for quite long. *Sequencer* The E473 has a 7-Track Sequencer in its songs and 6 Tracks for the Styles. However, the SX600 is much superior since it has 8 tracks for Styles and *16* tracks for the songs, expanding its sequencer capabllities. The SX600 also uses the SFF2 or SFFGE style formats which allow 3 intros, 3 endings, four variations and a break to its styles, while the E473 uses SFF or SFF1 styles format, which has only one intro, two variations and one ending, as well as lack of the auto fill in button. *Quick Sampling Pads vs Multi Pads* The Quick Sampling pads, new to the E Series, are the Lite versions of the Multi Pads found on the S Series, SX Series, Tyros and Genos. It replaces the older Keyboard Sample Zones "A B C D" found on the E463 and the I500 into pads. They can take in samples via aux cable or usb. However you can not change the tone or pitch shift of the Multi-Pads, compared to its previous model. In Quick Sampling Pads, you can store up to one bank of samples in the Pads. The SX600, however, like the S670, has inbuilt Multipad Samples as well as the abillity to create your own samples. You can store unlimited banks of 4 Multipads and can switch banks anytime. One disadvantage of the Multipad system in the SX600 is you can not sample directly from the pads via an aux cable, rather it has to be more cumbersome by needing wav files only by USB. Both the E473 and SX600 can one shot and loop the multipad samples. *Expandabillity* The E473, like the E463, allows you to expand its styles in SFF1 formats and store up to 10 different styles internally. You can also load styles on USB so you dont have to use up the internal memorys. You can also revoice the higher model styles into lower model styles from softwares available online, like Jorgen Sorensen's Style Revoicer and SFF2 to SFF1 style converter, which is available for free on the internet. The SX600 allows you to store up to *100MB* of styles in SFF2 format. It also allows the expansions of voices, so you can bring in the voice you love into the keyboard.
Question: I just bought this keyboard and my pedal: FC3A is not working right, I plug it in, and either it holds sound out or doesn’t, whether I press the pedal or not. Sometimes if I unplug the pedal, the sound will continuously sustain without the pedal even plugged in until I shut the keyboard off and restart it. Does this keyboard not support the FC3A pedal? I don’t wanna drop $28 on the FC4A, or $15 on the FC5 pedal. Thanks! ~ANM 🎹
Hello Jeremy, Could you give me a suggestion of which one is for best playing classic music under or around 200 dollars? I see all the relevant videos but still hard to make the decisions. Thank you so much! Btw I really really like your videos
That's a tough one - Classical means you will need 88 keys, and there's really no decent "new" keyboard with 88 keys for under $200. I'd be looking for deals on eBay - Korg SP100 is a great 88 key piano for Classical.
The YPT-370 is a PSR-E373 in a silver-colored case designed for sale in retail chains, not in specialized music stores. Otherwise, they are exactly the same.
How does the 'physical keyboard bed' of the YAMAHA PSR E473 compare to that of the KORG EK50 in terms of its robustness and feel on the fingers? All suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!
IHHO, the SX600 is much much better than this E473 in all aspects (including higher price!!!). Styles & voices and many other parameters are chosen by names on the screen (10 on one screen). Unlimited number of registrations, etc... Can't list them.all.
Hi Jeremy, when will you make a big Test for the new Yamaha 473 and when can we buy IT ? And its really netter than the 463 ? Is the Higher price OK ? Best regards Fron Hamburg Germany Sebastian
Is a huge improvement for effects but I will not be swapping my ew410 as this new model cannot sample cromaticaly across the keys and Yamaha have reduced samples loop banks to 4 instead of 6. This way the whole point of my purchase (my videos reflect that) so now for example, I cannot recreate old prodigy tracks or create my own sampling music. The quick sampling is not a gimmic for those who create dance stabs and utilise loop banks like the Roland W30. I'm not a piano player but more of a composer, so this new model would be a disadvantage to what I do. Only my personal preference and opinion, otherwise I'm out.
Now I can't wait to see what Yamaha has to answer to Medeli AK-X10 with their PSR-SX series. I almost bought PSR-SX600. I am torn between that and Medeli. When do you think these models will show up in shops for us to be able to actually buy them? I am not really in the rush to get one.
The Medeli and Yamaha models you mention are available (US) - the Yamaha PSR-E473 will be available at all the big music outlets - they all say "pre-order, coming soon". Some forums say April '22.
The SX600 will only be replaced by the SX650 within 3 years as new S6xx and SX6xx Series keyboards are created once every five years (like S650 in 2010, S670 in 2015 and SX600 in 2020).
Nice, a lot more features, but... Where is the grand piano sound? How does it sounds like? Is it improved? I can't explain how happy I am with the L/R outputs and true Mic input in the PSR E473. This finally makes the PSR E400 series appealling to me. But, what about the sound? If this sounds exactly like the PSR E463 and E363/373, I will be disappointed. The sounds are a critical part of the keyboard, and while Casio does not makes very rich featured entry level keyboards like Yamaha, their CT-X, CT-S1 and CT-S400 keyboards DO SOUND awesome for their price range. In my opinion, once you get used to better sounding keyboards, going back to the AWM sound generator from PSR E463 and older keyboards just feels unnatural and too digital. I'll hope for both PSR E473/EW425 to have a more modern sound generator.
Are you done with independent unbiased reviews? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for Jeremy making a living as he has provided an invaluable service for so long that is greatly appreciated. But this comes out the SAME day as Casio announces 2 new keyboards, one of which looks revolutionary as well? How do you even know WHAT "competition" you are "crushing?"
He's heard the AIX chipset, the keybed are the same as CT-S400. The display is similar. For all you know, he may have already seen an advanced copy of the Casio like other review channels did. Are you saying that he can't form opinions from data he has on hand? Maybe you should keep your calm until he provides the rationales for his assessment.

Feature-wise I have to agree with you, but sound-wise I think they have room to improve. Casio's AiX keyboards have very good sounding pianos for the price point, and put some competition out of it

Hi, I just got a Yamaha per e473 keyboard as a gift from my son, please demonstrate how to use it.
PSR W 473 yamaha
Between E473 and Casio CTS 1 which one in you opinion has a better playing feel and sounds?
I just got mine and I love it. Thank you Jeremy.
Any idea by when these will be available worldwide? At least in about 3 to 5months?
Regarding somre orgnan voices, the user's manual on page 11 states the following: "Voices of numbers 28-37 have the same display names on both the PSR-E473 and PSR-EW425. However, on the PSR-EW425, a percussive click sound at key-on/key-off and a leakage sound are added, providing more realistic vintage organ sounds."
Thank you Jeremy! A question to you and everyone who knows the answer: what cand of mic do I need for those keyboards? I guess, it's not an XLR input, right? Thanks!
Can't wait to see your reviews for the new Casio CTS 500 & CTS 1000V ! I am hoping you'll review them! XD
My PSR-SX600 that I bought after watching your review arrived yesterday, and today Yamaha announces new keyboards 😂🤦♂
Still happy with my purchase!😁
SX600 is much more powerful! ❤️
I would kill for an SX600 as a backup for my S775. These new EW and E series keyboards are on lower category so you're still fine.
You should be. No regrets. The new models are replacing/competing with the lower/beginner level e series e463. SX 600 is way ahead..
Totally Agreed with the SX600.
How would you compare this to the MX88...I am torn between the two
This is great.
No idea)
Why e473, well hopefully this would like iphone or samsung phone that latest generation always better than previous generation.
64 voices
Definitely on my birthday wishlist !
Arrrggghhh my EW-310 arrives next week. Ah well, I'm not returning as who knows when these will be available and if I get hooked again I can sell and get a new keyboard later.
Looking good though, thank you Jeremy.
I'm here cos I just came back from school and met my new baby 🤭 PSRE473 💃💃
Finally it is here. But I'm still waiting for the next Yamaha psr I series keyboard which I wish should have more rhythm variations and more registration memory slots with all the features of Yamaha psr e473.
has it been released now? the new model?
Hi sir ! Namaste 🙏 I am from Nepal. I am a beginner. So which keyboard would you suggest for me sir ?? As I am thinking about roland XPS 30 but its little bit expensive so.
Jeremy how does this compare to the SX700?
We need an unboxing and your own review for this keyboard and also the view of the buttons and the connectivity.
Stay tuned!
@@JeremySee Hello sir, I have a doubt that can we record multiple tracks when connected to a piano app or DAW's in a keyboard which has only 2 track song recorder?
Last part was nice like dj . 👍 nice review sir.
The audience-facing back panel seems to look a lot cooler now
Hi Jeremy. Is there a workaround to plug an expression pedal (volume) on the PSR E473?
Hi Jeremy. Do you have any info about the polyphony of these keyboards? Thanks a lot.
I also want to know
64 note
64 note-polyphony apparently
@@wrinkles124 are you sure?
What microphone are you all using? My mics all have a 3 pin din plug. There are adapters but they have 2 plugs.
Also jeremy would it be fair to say that the medeli akx10 is more powerful than the e473, and possibly the psr sx 600 or even 700?
Can you make your own music one this keyboard?
Maybe, the next Genos, is around the corner. What do you think?
Very good sounding keyboard, but I will never understand how Yamaha will load a keyboard with an incredible amount of features, and sound quality that allows it to compete with boards easily costing more than double the price, yet they don’t add something as basic, been around for decades, and inexpensive…, a MOD wheel. It’s like they’ve decided the mod wheel is just “too pro” for the board.
Agreed!
Es lo malo de Yamaha, se limita mucho y en cierta parte abusan de su popularidad
All digital piano makers do it. Most entry level buyers need mod wheels?
I believe the enhanced Articulation function can pretty much serve that purpose somewhat. I am already enthused that it finally has a pitch bend wheel and metal speaker grilles, along with the 76 key version and all the upgrades.
I agree, at this point with a MOD wheel the keyboard would become even more in a true hybrid digital "synthesizer"!
What's the best between the Yamma pizza four hundred 73 and the kid SX 600 is the difference going on?
here are a few difference
Yamaha PSR-E473 vs SX600
*Sound Quality*
The PSR-E473 features upto 14 S.Art LITE voices, which are the E Series rendition of the bestselling S, SX, Genos and Tyros Series' Super Articulation voices.
*Style quality*
Of course there is no way that the E473 can run out of this.
*Sequencer*
The E473 has a 7-Track Sequencer in its songs and 6 Tracks for the Styles.
*Quick Sampling Pads vs Multi Pads*
The Quick Sampling pads, new to the E Series, are the Lite versions of the Multi Pads found on the S Series, SX Series, Tyros and Genos.
*Expandabillity*
The E473, like the E463, allows you to expand its styles in SFF1 formats and store up to 10 different styles internally.
Thanks!

Welcome back mr jerremy, how's life?
Hello!❤️
This keyboard is awesome!!!!
please give us a comparison between the E463 and E473
Hi I have 373, should i upgrade to 473?
ruclips.net/video/1KJYsJOQza8/видео.html
Price/Value: Do you think the price is ok compared to E373? What would you suggest? Is it worth the wait?
YES - E373 has TERRIBLE speakers! 2 1/2W - can't play it anywhere without external amplification.
Do yamaha PSR serious keyboards have a software so I can buy them not physically?
This ? Or Casio CT-X5000 ?
Best keyboard PSR E series 👍
Hello jeremy! Is PSR-E373 and YPT-370 the same?
The YPT-370 is a PSR-E373 in a silver-colored case designed for sale in retail chains, not in specialized music stores. Otherwise, they are exactly the same.
How does the 'physical keyboard bed' of the YAMAHA PSR E473 compare to that of the KORG EK50 in terms of its robustness and feel on the fingers? All suggestions welcome. Thanks in advance!
how incredible the most improved version of the psr e463 hey, could you do another one like the e373 of all the styles that it brings please 🥺🥺🥺
Does e473 also includes the built-in audio interface?
Yes!
Well I bought the e473. It will arrive in March. Yea!
Psr sx600 vs this one.,...
Stay tuned 😉
@@JeremySee i am very excited 😀
Can't wait to hear that YC Organs!!!!
Very useful n informative..Thanks 🎉🎉👍
Does anyone know 's the price of this keyboard this keyboard is so cool
Finally yamaha relesed them. im exited to get one.
Hey jermy any news on the Korg Pa5x I heard some news and seen pictures of it but just want to know if you know anything would appreciate
Stay tuned. 😉
Waiting for the comparative with casio
Stay tuned 😉
And probably will be delayed like last years new models were in the USA. Seems like a nice offering in the entry keyboard segment.
Easily 3 to 5 months before ready availablity
Intro music name pls brother
Question. Im a beginner with music and recently bought a mpc one + , and looking for a keyboard. My question is , do you know if i can laydown the sounds from the keyboard itself onto a track in my mp. ( or daw ) ? Cuz i understood this usb is not only for midi but audio aswell ? Like i said im new to music production , znd someone said i can do that with phones output. But with this keyboard as i understood i can do that with just that usb. So i have the internal keyboard audio and the notes appear on the grid of my mpc/daw because the midi roght ?

Amazing keyboard 😍
A little bit dissapointed they still stuck with 2 variation per style, CTX already have 4 variation
I get you but they don't want to distract the sales of the SX Series :[
Jeremy you haven’t seen Casios new fleet huh?
😉
Yamaha is of course better than the competition in this segment. But that same old screen! Come on guys!
Feature-wise I have to agree with you, but sound-wise I think they have room to improve. Casio's AiX keyboards have very good sounding pianos for the price point, and put some competition out of it
Can anyone tell me how can I off Touch on Yamaha PSR e473
2x 12w? That’s almost like earlier S series?
Please launch Yamaha genos with 61 keys because first time I saw this keyboard I got inspiration and it brings lots of ideas please launch this keyboard please with 61 keys and with same feature and it's easy to understand for every keyboard player
Or you could just buy PSR-SX900 and get as close as you'll get with 61 keys. Yamaha isn't selling alot of 76 key Genos. Why make another? 61 keys isn't going to make them fly off the shelf.
Wow Polyphony 64 on a basic keyboard At last, waiting for the Comparison with Casio
