When the big brute guy is down on his knees in the e3 demo, that actually can happen in the game. Best way I’ve found to trigger it is if you cripple the enemies legs first. Then sometimes they’ll collapse and either beg, or pray if they are seraphite.
agustin 242536 it’s really not that bad and you have to have them side by side to notice. The graphics were amazing. The story is what killed it. Not one person will say the graphics are what killed it for them.
A good writer/director will talk about his line of thinking and why he did certain things with the story. Look up Half-Life: Alyx's writer Erik Wolpaw explaining why he did a certain thing with the ending of the game like 1 day after the game came out. He explained it because he's a legit writer, and not some clown like Neil.
You can actually do the execution animation Ellie does in the E3 demo. You just have to shoot the enemy’s feet and point your weapon at them. They will speak (dialogue varies whether you’re fighting a Wolf, Seraphite, or Rattler) while on the ground and you can execute them like she does in the demo.
I feel like Watch Dogs was 10x times worse then this. I personally didn't watch any of the trailers for this game besides the e3 demo and I'm enjoying it so far.....
It would have been cool if the enemy attacks could still affect the environment like that. Prob something they had working at one point but had to disable for whatever reason.

Tienes razón, recordemos que todo juego sufre una baja de gráficos, no es el juego en sí, si no la consola, porque para que el juego este optimizado al final tienen que ir quitando ciertas cosas para que tenga un rendimiento óptimo. Lo más probable es que los gráficos del E3 lo veamos en la ps5.
De hecho, lo más probable es que la versión remasterizada sea el mismo juego solo que con mayor resolución y mayor tasa de refresco, como hicieron con el primero
En PS5 será una subida de resolución a 4k nativos y 60fps seguramente, no los veo agregando elementos que ya descartaron en la versión final, sería mucho trabajo para ellos.

There’s a bit of downgrade, but actually a lot of upgrades in a lot of areas. Everything about this game screams PS5, so I really hope this makes it on there with insane graphics, I’d gladly replay it there
Still the best mechanics, graphics, and AI in enemies I have ever seen. Not to mention the insane attention to details throughout the entire game. Every element was carefully placed making the level design insanely beautiful... In my opinion once again Naughty Dog set the standards far up high. This is by far the best looking game of this generation.

The lighting effects will be possible on the PS5 and it seems like the actual character models may be possible there as well considering these models look like the graphics in the cutscenes, which are all rendered in real time but with less things to actually focus on, all the power can be devoted to the faces when not in gameplay. With the PS5 they should be able to achieve this level of detail at all times
All game developers do this with their stage demos. I was expecting far less than what E3 showed, but when I saw the final version was pretty damn close I was more than happy with it.
Actually game looks alot closer to e3 demo, specially on ps4 pro, just the charchter models are downgraded, its not a watchdogs level downgrade... id say watchdogs was false advertising lol

I replayed this sequence a dozen times to try and replicate what I saw in the E3 gameplay trailer. I performed several experiments, and here's what I noticed: 1. Enemies don't kick dead bodies, and seem to act slightly more game-ish during gameplay. 2. The sequence under the vehicle where you watch the two Scars interact before separating never happens. Also, enemies don't look under vehicles that much. I spent a solid thirty minutes just hiding. 3. Breaking the hammer on the Scar's face and the transition animation to picking up their machete are still there, but you have to be in those specific circumstances. 4. The big guy with the hammer can still block your attacks and throw you over the counter, through the glass as shown here, but the shatter effect and the sound seems to have been downgraded. 5. The smooth animation of Ellie sliding her switchblade into her back pocket has been sped up, looking less smooth as a result. 6. When enemies look under cars, they don't crouch, look, and spot you. They crouch, and then suddenly drag you out. 7. You can't seem to be able to dodge arrows as seen in the shop. You can be lucky enough to not get hit while performing a dodge, but it doesn't actually trigger you dodging the arrow itself. 8. Ellie's aiming animation while prone under a truck has been downgraded, making it look more like the animation from Metal Gear Solid V. 9. The animation of Ellie leaning behind the counter while pulling the arrow out of her shoulder never happens in gameplay, but occurs only once in a scripted sequence when the Seraphites are first introduced and Ellie is shot in the shoulder. 10. As shown in this video, dodging attacks doesn't flow together seamlessly like that. Dodging towards a car doesn't trigger the animation of Ellie falling against it either. I have two theories as to why the two don't match up in most regards (E3 and Final): 1. The game took a big hit in visuals and gameplay before release. (Although if they already had these animations and assets ready to go, why take them all out?) 2. The entire E3 "gameplay" Trailer was completely scripted, using a sort of gameplay camera perspective while everything playing out was predetermined. Think of it like one long cutscene using camera angles, aiming reticles, HUD, etc from the gameplay itself, but all of the AI enemies' actions, and even the actions of Ellie herself, were predetermined and put together to look like a seamless gameplay sequence. (Maybe this theory sounds stupid? It's one I think is highly probable, since I can't think of any other way the events during the sequence flow together without error, even going as far as to transition back into the cutscene with Ellie and Dina. I mean, what if the person playing the demo used an explosive arrow on the big guy with the hammer? Or bolted out of the shop and toward the meadow? How would it transition back to Ellie and Dina so seamlessly if that were the case? Let me know what you think.)
It most definitely was scripted trust me unless they are playing the game directly in front of a love audience (and not faking even that) then they absolutely "script" the entire demonstration even if that's only in the edit they purposefully show you exactly what they want you to see exactly how they want it to go and if it's not perfect they just do it again until it is. The difference between actual in game and scripted in game is essentially 0 unless it's you yourself that's controlling the action. Could they have done this "live" and just shot a video of it and gave us that? Sure. But why go through that much work when you can just program the game to do everything exactly as you want it to go. It's still "gameplay" as much as anything else that's demoed to an audience when they can't actually control things or even watch the person controlling it. It was obviously in the games engine and using a lot of the same assets but they've also obviously "optimized" the game in many ways and without hard scripted events making sure a lot of what was seen in the demo is really hard to implement. It Sucks it wasn't as good but anyone that expected it to be hasn't been paying attention for the last decade.

How in the hell is this well common practice not considered misleading advertisement? Is it possible this wont ever change? This kind of thing only hold back graphical evolution, since companies don't need to buff their consoles that much to lure players into buying their games. Instead they only need to make a Pixar trailer and advertise as the real deal. Oh boy oh boy. I really loved the game though, thought it was as good as the first one.
The E3 demos represent what the developer aims to achieve in the final product, its often more of a vision (talked about in the God Of War making of). In this case it might be due to the overestimated hardware of the PS4 and/or the time (=budget) runs out to further optimize and work on graphics (see the difference between the Ghost of Tsushima E3 demo and recently shown gameplay). You can't sue the company because they always put a disclaimer to protect themselves legally, but you could blame them for not admitting the they have failed to reach their goal, which wouldn't happen because bad PR -> less money
That's what I told to people back then on Digital foundry's video, I've been met with people thinking I was crazy... When the guys enter the store, Ellie has a "oh shit" animation... Which means that the game tracks : Where are people (inside ? Outside ?) Where is the character compared to these people ? (inside ? Outside ?) If one is outside and the other one is inside (or the other way around) If Ellie is trying to hide If they are in her line of sight WHILE changing state (outside to inside or the other way around) (and not just the camera, but the character's head/body...) Then apply the animation (that is so contextual that may not even happen once in a 25 hours playthrough) to the character and have this animation for every possibility (Ellie standing, walking, running etc) And the game needs to track all these things at all times during the game because it can happen at any time... That would be very heavy for something that may not even happen once... Obviously it was scripted, you'd think that after Killzone 2 and Motorstorm trailers on the PS3 people would learn the lesson that trailers are marketing bullshit... But no... They always fall for it...

I think the version we saw at E3 2018 was actually the PS5 versions, cus it's seems that E3 gameplay have ray-tracing technology and stuff, like the power to load the entire enviroment

It still looks remarkable. Clearly some optimizations were needed so the PS4 version could hold stable 30 fps but it is not a dramatic difference and the PS5 upgrade should make up for it. Naughty Dog's gameplay animation systems are way ahead of the rest in the industry.
Guys stop being so radical. Tlou2 still looks amazing. But it has been downgraded a little bit. Thats honestly it, end of story. Calling these graphics "trash" is just completely delusional. Also yes I've played and beat this game, story isn't as bad as people say either but yes it is somewhat disappointing and very frustrating. I'd rate it as a 7 so I'm not a fanboy, just not radical. I actually dislike Niel Drukmann but the game is decent. So there, probably be hated by both sides now lol

Well. there are a lot of frogs all over the map, you just didn't saw them where they were in Demo 2018. Actually, the downgrade has obviously happened, but I don't understand why you don't mention things that were improved since then.
I don't know if you've played the game but many of the animations that happened in the demo happen throughout the final game, apparently at random. It's always surprising when they happen. If I had to guess, they made them random so that they don't end up getting overused. It is a 25 hour game after all.
Actually that happened to me on survival difficulty, most stuff in the demo actually does happen and this guy using a normal ps4, my ps4 pro runs this smoothly with HDR and besides wait for next gen this game will be AMAZING on PS5

I played it and the faces if they are like the ones in the trailer, it has a lot to do with whether it's play pro or normal, the game filter and whether the tv is 4k or not. If you don't have that it doesn't matter anyway it looks great

animations are still far better than any other game, and most of it is still there. let’s not pretend the animator’s comments weren’t about jealosy, I mean tomb raider literally has camera cuts on takedown animations.
The part where you can execute the hammer dude is actually possible and can be done multiple times throughout the game. I think you hit him in a critical area. I kept shooting him in the lower leg area and got him down. The execute wasn't as cinematic though.

Era más que obvio que esas animaciones y coreografías tan fluidas sólo podían ser scripts. De todas formas, por mucho downgrade que haya, no he visto un juego que se vea mejor y tenga tantos detalles, a excepción, quizás, de Red Dead 2. Estoy por la mitad de la campaña y llevo casi más tiempo en el modo foto que jugando. Es increíble lo que se puede conseguir con una consola cuando hay talento.
La verdad hay un cambió pero yo me lo estoy pasando ahorita y en mi tv lo veo espectacular.!! Y eso que tengo la versión SLIM.... Pero con ciertos ajustes en mi tv logró que sé vea muy bien y pase muy desapercibido todos esos cambios. Lo estoy disfrutando cómo nunca.! (Siento mucho ese giro inesperado por joel :'c)
Watched the entire video and the one thing that really stands out was the increased level of plantation & physics with them. I have a feeling that they had to reduce the visual quality/textures in other areas for that one change. Can watch the entire video to see how much more of it exist in most areas with the final version.

The reflection cube maps are usually incredibly accurate. The tree problem is probably that the tree was removed but they didn't update the cubemap

Still the best mechanics, graphics, and AI in enemies I have ever seen. Not to mention the insane attention to details throughout the entire game. Every element was carefully placed making the level design insanely beautiful... In my opinion once again Naughty Dog set the standards far up high. This is by far the best looking game of this generation.

The lighting effects will be possible on the PS5 and it seems like the actual character models may be possible there as well considering these models look like the graphics in the cutscenes, which are all rendered in real time but with less things to actually focus on, all the power can be devoted to the faces when not in gameplay. With the PS5 they should be able to achieve this level of detail at all times

I replayed this sequence a dozen times to try and replicate what I saw in the E3 gameplay trailer. I performed several experiments, and here's what I noticed:
1. Enemies don't kick dead bodies, and seem to act slightly more game-ish during gameplay.
2. The sequence under the vehicle where you watch the two Scars interact before separating never happens. Also, enemies don't look under vehicles that much. I spent a solid thirty minutes just hiding.
3. Breaking the hammer on the Scar's face and the transition animation to picking up their machete are still there, but you have to be in those specific circumstances.
4. The big guy with the hammer can still block your attacks and throw you over the counter, through the glass as shown here, but the shatter effect and the sound seems to have been downgraded.
5. The smooth animation of Ellie sliding her switchblade into her back pocket has been sped up, looking less smooth as a result.
6. When enemies look under cars, they don't crouch, look, and spot you. They crouch, and then suddenly drag you out.
7. You can't seem to be able to dodge arrows as seen in the shop. You can be lucky enough to not get hit while performing a dodge, but it doesn't actually trigger you dodging the arrow itself.
8. Ellie's aiming animation while prone under a truck has been downgraded, making it look more like the animation from Metal Gear Solid V.
9. The animation of Ellie leaning behind the counter while pulling the arrow out of her shoulder never happens in gameplay, but occurs only once in a scripted sequence when the Seraphites are first introduced and Ellie is shot in the shoulder.
10. As shown in this video, dodging attacks doesn't flow together seamlessly like that. Dodging towards a car doesn't trigger the animation of Ellie falling against it either.
I have two theories as to why the two don't match up in most regards (E3 and Final):
1. The game took a big hit in visuals and gameplay before release. (Although if they already had these animations and assets ready to go, why take them all out?)
2. The entire E3 "gameplay" Trailer was completely scripted, using a sort of gameplay camera perspective while everything playing out was predetermined. Think of it like one long cutscene using camera angles, aiming reticles, HUD, etc from the gameplay itself, but all of the AI enemies' actions, and even the actions of Ellie herself, were predetermined and put together to look like a seamless gameplay sequence. (Maybe this theory sounds stupid? It's one I think is highly probable, since I can't think of any other way the events during the sequence flow together without error, even going as far as to transition back into the cutscene with Ellie and Dina. I mean, what if the person playing the demo used an explosive arrow on the big guy with the hammer? Or bolted out of the shop and toward the meadow? How would it transition back to Ellie and Dina so seamlessly if that were the case? Let me know what you think.)

It most definitely was scripted trust me unless they are playing the game directly in front of a love audience (and not faking even that) then they absolutely "script" the entire demonstration even if that's only in the edit they purposefully show you exactly what they want you to see exactly how they want it to go and if it's not perfect they just do it again until it is. The difference between actual in game and scripted in game is essentially 0 unless it's you yourself that's controlling the action. Could they have done this "live" and just shot a video of it and gave us that? Sure. But why go through that much work when you can just program the game to do everything exactly as you want it to go. It's still "gameplay" as much as anything else that's demoed to an audience when they can't actually control things or even watch the person controlling it.
It was obviously in the games engine and using a lot of the same assets but they've also obviously "optimized" the game in many ways and without hard scripted events making sure a lot of what was seen in the demo is really hard to implement.
It Sucks it wasn't as good but anyone that expected it to be hasn't been paying attention for the last decade.

This kind of thing only hold back graphical evolution, since companies don't need to buff their consoles that much to lure players into buying their games. Instead they only need to make a Pixar trailer and advertise as the real deal. Oh boy oh boy. I really loved the game though, thought it was as good as the first one.
The E3 demos represent what the developer aims to achieve in the final product, its often more of a vision (talked about in the God Of War making of).
In this case it might be due to the overestimated hardware of the PS4 and/or the time (=budget) runs out to further optimize and work on graphics (see the difference between the Ghost of Tsushima E3 demo and recently shown gameplay).
You can't sue the company because they always put a disclaimer to protect themselves legally, but you could blame them for not admitting the they have failed to reach their goal, which wouldn't happen because bad PR -> less money

When the guys enter the store, Ellie has a "oh shit" animation... Which means that the game tracks :
Where are people (inside ? Outside ?)
Where is the character compared to these people ? (inside ? Outside ?)
If one is outside and the other one is inside (or the other way around)
If Ellie is trying to hide
If they are in her line of sight WHILE changing state (outside to inside or the other way around) (and not just the camera, but the character's head/body...)
Then apply the animation (that is so contextual that may not even happen once in a 25 hours playthrough) to the character and have this animation for every possibility (Ellie standing, walking, running etc)
And the game needs to track all these things at all times during the game because it can happen at any time... That would be very heavy for something that may not even happen once...
Obviously it was scripted, you'd think that after Killzone 2 and Motorstorm trailers on the PS3 people would learn the lesson that trailers are marketing bullshit... But no... They always fall for it...

It still looks remarkable. Clearly some optimizations were needed so the PS4 version could hold stable 30 fps but it is not a dramatic difference and the PS5 upgrade should make up for it. Naughty Dog's gameplay animation systems are way ahead of the rest in the industry.

I don't know if you've played the game but many of the animations that happened in the demo happen throughout the final game, apparently at random. It's always surprising when they happen. If I had to guess, they made them random so that they don't end up getting overused. It is a 25 hour game after all.
Actually that happened to me on survival difficulty, most stuff in the demo actually does happen and this guy using a normal ps4, my ps4 pro runs this smoothly with HDR and besides wait for next gen this game will be AMAZING on PS5

I played it and the faces if they are like the ones in the trailer, it has a lot to do with whether it's play pro or normal, the game filter and whether the tv is 4k or not. If you don't have that it doesn't matter anyway it looks great

The part where you can execute the hammer dude is actually possible and can be done multiple times throughout the game. I think you hit him in a critical area. I kept shooting him in the lower leg area and got him down. The execute wasn't as cinematic though.

Nope the PS4 disc is playable on PS5 and there's most likely gonna be an update.

Era más que obvio que esas animaciones y coreografías tan fluidas sólo podían ser scripts. De todas formas, por mucho downgrade que haya, no he visto un juego que se vea mejor y tenga tantos detalles, a excepción, quizás, de Red Dead 2. Estoy por la mitad de la campaña y llevo casi más tiempo en el modo foto que jugando. Es increíble lo que se puede conseguir con una consola cuando hay talento.

La verdad hay un cambió pero yo me lo estoy pasando ahorita y en mi tv lo veo espectacular.!! Y eso que tengo la versión SLIM.... Pero con ciertos ajustes en mi tv logró que sé vea muy bien y pase muy desapercibido todos esos cambios. Lo estoy disfrutando cómo nunca.!

Watched the entire video and the one thing that really stands out was the increased level of plantation & physics with them. I have a feeling that they had to reduce the visual quality/textures in other areas for that one change. Can watch the entire video to see how much more of it exist in most areas with the final version.

me da a mi que estás usando una ps4 slim en un tv 1080, yo tengo ps4 pro y tv 4k hdr10+ y te puedo asegurar que no se ve como se muestra en el vídeo.
