MTB San Diego trail review, La Costa part 3

San Diego mountain bike review, La Costa trails. This trail that I highlight is called whiptail. I ended up breaking my bike and needed to drop it off for service after this ride. My suspension was beating me up pretty good so it was good timing to get that done also. I needed the rear hub to be replaced. I brought my bike into North of the border bicycles here in San Diego and they did a great job.
It was early October and quite warm that day. I did a lot of exploring, and this was luckily at the end of my ride when my free wheel / hub broke.
I am riding my specialized turbo levo comp alloy 2022 that had 1500 miles on it.

Ouch! Fatigue + heat + mechanicals is always a bad mix. Glad to hear you got it fixed so quickly! I just had a derailleur catastrophically fail down in PQ, so I feel this.
Whip and Horned are some pretty neat trails in the system, and some of the more popular. Definitely extended climbs/descents though. There are better trails in the area in that regard.

Yeah, I need to explore more out there. And now that I have fresh suspension I should revisit La Costa soon.
