It looks great! But I totally understand your frustration with the details! An idea for the squareness of the play area is to put a lot of soft trailing plants around it. It will help soften the angles. I highly recommend dichondra silver falls! It loves the heat and will trail all over the wall!

I loved seeing the update! Your backyard has come a long way and you should be so proud at all you have accomplished! I appreciate you showing your basement storage because you know pretty much everyone has the same thing going on in their basement, garage, attic or storage room somewhere. Your deck/landscaping looks amazing!!! Love the fact that you stuccoed and painted the retaining walls white. Can't wait for the plants. Glad that you shared your frustration because it does help others. We also are having a problem with our deck reno, so I get it.

The deck looks great, but I did notice that your down spout from your gutters are faced so they will drain right next to your foundation. It might be best to invest in catch basin drains. Looking forward to seeing the future yard.

You mention you don’t like a lot of lines from the deck but I think maybe new patio furniture the tables cute but their is a lot of lines with the patio furniture chairs from the chairs to the lines from the deck floor to the lines on the privacy wall
I think the square is still nice.. I have a semi circular cement little cut out area with a fire pit in front abd looks odd to me as well. your back yard looks chic anyhow love what you did was waiting for this video. Will you still be putting Ivy on the back fence?
Thank you! We’d love to line the fence with trees and then add some jasmine Ivy on the fence near the courtyard area (where the shed is currently). Will take us some time for that investment though!
I have this rule that I’ve been following for more than a decade ago. And the rule is that I do a major home clean up and organization project every single season!! By that I mean spring, summer, fall and winter. And it gets easier every single time bc you build a mind set of deeper conscious buying. I also don’t do this clean up projects alone, I do them with my husband. (Except for our individual closets). And ever since I decided to become a minimalist …I’d made an agreement with myself! That I will absolutely NOT BUY any more Xmas and Halloween decor. I will work with what I already have. About 4 years ago I invested in two really high quality Xmas and Halloween wreaths that will last me for many years to come so I won’t be buying /looking for different wreaths every single year (I’m done with that). I also DONT decorate for any other festivities … no Easter decorations, no valentines decorations, no spring decorations, no thanksgiving decorations (except for a beautiful set up on the dinner table The Day of thanksgiving) So everything is very small and intimate. I used to be the type to have 3 Xmas trees, I now have just one! And I won’t be buying another one regardless of what comes up in the market. (it’s been 4 years with just one Xmas tree and I’m happy to see how much simpler and easy my life is every end of Xmas season). So after so much cleanup, now I have a complete empty attic, a basement that functions as an office and gym space and a separate, very organized storage room where I can find anything I look for and an organized garage that’s always available in terms of space. Minimalist is the way to go! And being minimalist allows you to appreciate the money you work so hard for and the things that you already have.

Im really curious what color the fence will be, ive been having alot of trouble picking a color! I really love the deck color, im wondering if it will be similar.
Not alot of shades out there to pick from unfortunately everything leans really red when it comes to fences.
