@@Trueflights I like the pieces in the new laser chess version, but sadly there's no equivalent to the eye of Horus expansion yet.

I agree. I would love to see the Eye made for Laser Chess. I asked them about it when I did the review, but they had no plans to do it anytime soon.
I still want to get my hands on the Tower for the original Khet at some point and try it out someday

"If you are not familiar with the game. Its a game like chess, with an added complexety."
    No. Just no.

As someone who's been playing chess for 40+ years, even competitively at one point, I would like to know why you think this 🤔

@@Trueflights Hi. I am someone who - admitatly - has zero experience with Laserchess/Khet and who is playing competetive chess.
One reason why I reacted this way, was because the statement "its like chess" already seems to be just a very odd. Ok both games have "chess" in their names, players take alternating terms, ... (Im sure there are some more similaritis but gererally they seem to be completely different games with completely different rules. One is static and about symetry. The other has pieces with different rules of movement etc. I mean, who would say a car was basically a horse but with added complexity. Its just not how it is right?
The other reason was because I really doubt that this game was more comlex then chess. But as I said: The one of both I really dont know so maybe Im completly wrong about it.
Anyways, thanks for your upload and the response. Laserchess/Khet looks great and Ill deff give it a try. Hope you are not mad at me for my comments. Have a great time. CU

Not mad at all. I was genuinely curious as to why you thought that. The original game "Deflexion", was created by a college professor and a couple of his students as a new tactical strategy game to risk some of the classics. The first few years after its original release, MIT held works championships for it and it even won at least one Mensa award.
While you are correct that it lacks each piece having its own unique movement style that chess has, every piece does have its own function as well as the ability to move or rotate.
It shares the tactical strategy of planning out your moves and anticipating your opponents moves to set up traps, sacrificing pieces in order to lure opponents to do things you want them to do, and more.
I can look at a chess board and know where each piece can move, what that would change or open up for both players and what would and wouldn't be a good move. After 15 years of playing Deflexion/ Khet/ Laser Chess, it is still difficult to calculate all of the possible moves and how those would change the board state, and that is even without adding in things like "the Eye of Horus" (which was a new piece that was introduced at one point with a prism in it that can split the laser into two).
It is definitely worth trying out to see for yourself.

@@Trueflights Should I go for Khet2 or LaserChess? It seems like Khet has the cooler style and the eye of horus while laserchess seems to be much better visible with were the laser hits?!

They are very much the save except for the reskin of the theme.
I personally prefer Khet and it's Egyptian theme. Khet also has the cool extras like the Eye of Horus and even an add on tower thing (I can't remember the actual name of it).
The downside is that Khet has long been out of print. Khet 2.0 has some updates, they added the rotating laser and changed the Obelisk piece, but it doesn't have the extra add on options. Last chess is the most recent printing of the game and it's identical to Khet 2.0 except for the sci-fi reskin
