Hi Steven ,good result again ,hopefully some that were missing have worked home, going by results and condition of the pigeons we see weekly theres not much wrong with them or the management of them and i would reckon it is the same accross the country as they are an expensive hobby now and need to be kept in top order, just watched another video in England and similar numbers were missing as well.is it the weather, KPs as there called or clashing? Regarding BOP, at the start of the season it is bad enough one on the nest and one hunting, now both off the nest and their young hunting as well , i would reckon numbers are doubled, pigeons in large batches are easy meat unfortunately, and the ones that dont get hit but are spooked are flying for their lifes, probably in wrong direction. Pigeon fanciers are well known for their charity work, maybe its time the organisations started using this to protect the sport. sorry to go off on one there, keep up the good work Stephen and Family look forward to your video, good luck for last few races 🤞
Rant away Robert as the last 4 days I've walked the gardens and halls ranting ffs kp reading was 2 which is classed as good but then your never know. I'm fed up to the teeth with there numbers which is a absolute lie concerning BOP we are getting slaughtered and all they can do is post photos about how magnificent they are ripping birds apart and not just any birds it's our absolute passion these pigeons. Yet half them wouldn't eat a chicken or a burger because they say its cruelty to animals 🤔🤔🤔 natural is natural when left alone not man putting his hand in the populate more! Appreciate that Robert and rant away anytime 😊 🤝

Great Video again Stephen , young bird losses what a complex issue , you know me by now how much I personally analyze everything , its a pity we havnt the diaries of many older fanciers over the decades to try and pinpoint the changes in pigeon racing training and racing , I know with our own birds there was one place that was only 10 miles away every time I trained from there 2 or 3 times in total they circled and circled and seemed confused and the times were twice 3 times what they should have been I moved 4 miles in a southern direction they cleared in seconds and clocked 50mph , it was only last week as I approached the area were i first libbed the birds from a different route I noticed right behind the forest on the hill that I couldnt see originally was a massive phone mast , was it the reason ? I dont know
Something we will never see and understand the losses pete, we just don't know the half of it unfortunately but we keep pressing on with our passion 👏👌

Every thing you said it's true you do every thing in your power to have the birds right to go racing and with all the losses you start questioning everything ,your management ,your stock ,training ,but it's none of those ,it's. birds of prey and the atmosphere,great trapping again.
The million dollar question….where do all these birds ( youngsters) go …hardly ever reported and if not home on a Sunday not likely to appear…but it is something that is getting worse each year, maybe the RPRA need to loll into it before lots of people pack it in…..good luck for next week
Yeah as I've said before we never lose faith in the hedley, but that sick feeling get worse and worse by Sunday night as you think along as birds go down they maybe get a drink and get up and go but unfortunately this season they haven't. I remember last year we coulda had 10 on the loft the next morning..... but getting multiple strikes on the way home I'd say birds flying themselves into the ground. Even makes me sick to think about it..... We can only hope something gets talked about as the fancy just can't afford this every year
Same here in the 🇺🇸. A club mate keep getting other people’s birds coming to his loft on race day . I’m starting to think a lot of birds end up following other birds to other lofts and the club mates just not returning them or reporting them …
Hey mate. Hawks can't take 15 of 30 of my birds on a 25 mile toss. Something else is going on. Also of those 15 that didn't come home "all had a phone number ring" only one was reported!

Steven, you do all you can, and in your case, including a bucket full of care and passion. However, this is NOT down to you, your birds, your stock or your management. Something is happening even stranger this year, but that doesnt stop you scratching your head, but you can scratch until the cows come home and still not able to answer, why mate. Liberators, feds, combines etc also need to work for the best of the fanciers paying their wages, lots of libs taking place, some areas of the uk this weekend having severe smashes, many birds missing, just like you. All you can do mate is continue with the great work you do and your team do the best to their ability and hope eveeything else out of your control allignes mate. I've never really researched it and really looked into pal, but it certainly gives us something to look at, I check the kp reading it called and Saturday said it was good! But with talking with folk it has some birds of prey around that lib sight and if they are getting strike shortly after a lib then it's big trouble for them pal 😕
Hi Steven, with all walks of life there are different types of people, what frustrates me is pigeon fanciers are labelled as these horrible blokes that kill all the birds that are not champions, I am not stupid enough to believe there are not men like that but from my experience the majority are pigeon lovers at heart, and genuinely suffer every bird lost, (how much sleep have we lost worrying where they are!!) but these losses are across the board these day every organisation and every fancier, this many birds can not just disappear, most would work home but these days there is no sign of them
@merv690 exactly the countless hours,time and love we give to them, always bad apples but I can guarantee the majority love and breathe pigeons this is a passion as you know.... I just don't know pal 🫤
Hi Stephen, youre disappointed somting terrible pal, and i have felt youre pain many times, i myself dont understand why youre birds are not pulling there wings back like a hawk and hitting you're loft like a rocket, and if they are afraid of BOP you would tink they would go straight into the loft knowing that they are safe there rather than outside the loft, i had birds hit my old cheap metal sputnik trap and drop onto the landing board and run in the loft as quick as possible because they are affraid of what ever they seen, but seen youres not going in fast is heart breaking. Speaking of losses stephen, i found 1 dead today at the foot of Bray head, its Co/Wicklow Dublin border. I nearly fell down the cliffe trying to get the pigeon, the girlfriends Anxiety was trough the roof 😂😂, i told her she wouldn't understand have not ever raced pigeons, can you report the pigeon for me please i have the phone number ring, the race ring, and the barcode ring also, it wasn't eaten, or touched at all, just seemed flown out, had no colour on its neck so was not on the darkness . The chap is from Ardglass in Downpatrick, so right out on the coast stephen. Youre young birds trapping is a killer pal, do they trap well for you're dad when you bring them training ??
Hard to get good honest racing in Ireland to many don't like changes some liberations should not happen it will never in Ireland regardless of the obstacles on route let them go they'll make there way home eventually
