Clever has positive connotations. Sure it can mean negative things but, people are going to hear it as something positive. It's that and the fact that he didn't just put a small statement in the video saying "Hey! BTW don't doxx people", that everyone is mad about. Best case would be to not put that part in the video, but if he absolutely wanted to, then at least say that you don't support those actions, and frame them as something negative.

And influencers have that name because they influence people. So when you have a guy like this posting a video in which he frames phishing and impersonation attempts as "sneaky and clever" and at the very least, doesn't put a little clip in saying that this is wrong and illegal, you get people that think this it's okay to do. That if you want someones personal information against their will it's okay to try and impersonate or phish them... That is what my problem with the video is. The difference between this and sherlock holmes is that sherlock holmes is fiction, a story, a book. Wirtuals video is a retelling of real life events. People do get influenced by books, but they get influenced waay more by internet personalities.

Just because drama can be entertaining doesn’t mean you have to turn something very personal about real people into clickbait, jokes, and literal documentaries.
