I will be brief. I am 73 yrs old and been going to gym on and off for 30 yrs with hardly any improvement. I have noticed significant improvement after watching your videos. Please dont stop posting videos. Thanks
Every time I watch these videos, a light bulb goes off! I’ve watched so many reruns just to critique my form. I’m not a body builder nor do I complete, I just enjoy weight lifting and watching my body change, and want to do it correctly. Thanks for the content, even for us non competitors
@@MikeVanWyck I’ve been lifting for many years and could never feel my chest no matter what I did , since I’ve been following the form you’ve given my chest pumps like mad , thanks for your help and your time ✊ Bristol United Kingdom
Besides the chest tips...... Mike was spitting truth about everything. I wish I could train with Mike for a year ... not just building muscle, but building a mental framework. Thanks Mike
Im 46 years Old .. training since 1993,16 years Old and approx 120 pounds.. i’ve fukked up my shoulders in early years of training, watching what others did( obviously wrong) and reading muskler magazines with coleman and yates and other legends.. I worked around it for many years, but in the age of 30 i was so damaged, so I had to train smarter.. started watching ben pakulski and mind-to-mind connections and AthleanX and now U.. im now 46, almost injury free and around 195 pounds, fairly lean.. I really try and teach my 15 Old son the technigues of injury free muscle gains.. and so far he is doping great… so thank u for U…. 🙏💪😊
….”doing what it takes to be a body builder” amen to that brother. I’m no pro body builder or have any designs on competing but I love this sport and the effect it has on my mental as well as physical health, 6 weeks I’ve been utilising your techniques and I’ve never felt so in touch with my own body….
I relate to this style of training 100 percent. Ive been training consistantly for 20 years, (1st 15 natty). Ive made all the mistakes lifting and dieting, its been a massive learning journey. Ive bulked, cut, bulked, cut countless times. Ive learnt that lifting weights consistantly becomes a dicipline. You develop your mind muscle connection and therefore you understand how your body feels through movement. You learn different ways to stretch and squeeze muscle. I found myself become creative with lifting and found different ways to hit the muscle. I feel like im very similar in style and attitude to training.
I have to say, i don't enjoy only the instructional content, but also the way its delivered lol. The moments of slight anger that you convey when talking about how some people train. Its like you are imagining a specific person you saw in the gym. Love it! Thank you, i keep learning from you videos.
Your explanations to where the tension, what angle you pushing, though we can not see, that information helps me to understand the movement and working muscle better. Thank you and keep them coming. Wycked wycked you rock. 😎🤘🏽 All of sudden after month of following you i can see my cest, reardelt start to shape up. Much appreciated your knowledge 👍🏽
Much respect for keep it real and telling it how it is. for some time I was doing this beach pressing wrong and the some with the dumbbells and started watching your videos and now my chest is growing fuller. kid you not , I would be doing this all wrong and felt hardly anything in my chest its humbling to admit that lol all I do now is watch you stuff and ditch all of the rest and learn from your years of exuberance. the Rack Pull saved my back from deadlifting wrong though finding out that my body is not really made for that dead lift and the Rack Pulls are helping, and it might not be the best thing to do, and I look stupid doing it , but it saved my lower back. so many people go down from lower back damage and never make it back in the gym or worse.
This changed my pressing and after a week of dumbell benching this technique has stopped my shoulder pain...due to doing EXACTLY what Mike said I was rolling forward instead of pushing away.
Maaan!! Im loving this channel and dropping knowledge. i hit the 👍🏽 like when mike mentioned the short shorts and nut hanging out. This so true. Side note:Im glad ppl start talking about these jerkoffs. Thank you for the videos. 🤘🏽
Nice to finally find someone worth listening to... Trained chest today and although my form isnt perfect, I focused today on the tips you've mentioned and found it alot better, especially on the pec dec, I rolled the shoulders back more, forced my back into the seat and focused on the actual movement...felt spot on. Thanks and I look forward to watching many more of your videos👊
You have to love this guy,he's correct on all levels, his mind muscle connection is great, cuts through the bullshit. Bottom line,Mr.Wyck will get you there, this man knows his shit.
Man I love your videos they’re awesome and it definitely gives me something more to look at as far as concentrating and focusing on the muscles. However, there’s no way I could ever see my muscles moving while they’re working unfortunately I have retinitis pigmentosa‘s deterioration of the retina so I’m blind. But, I will focus on feeling the movement versus moving the weight
It would be a Honor to work out with him!!! Watching and learning through a small screen is not enough. Thank you for all wisdom and hard work you put in for us to learn
The chest fly explanation this time hit home for me. Went to the gym for chest/back this morning and applied what I took from it, instant intense stretch across the pec at the "bottom" of the movement and felt like the muscle was going to tear itself apart all the way through the movement while using light weight. Crazy intense contraction at the "top" too. Thanks for making the movement click Mike, hitting chest directly had been spotty at best up until now. Edit: I should also add that the external rotation of the shoulders tip from the pressing section also helped the fly. I hadn't been doing that. Those "Big chest" cues some trainers use didn't translate to "rotate shoulders" for me.
I’m lucky enough to see Mike train typically daily and train lots of people. What’s incredible is that no matter who he puts in machine within about 3-5 reps he has them moving much better, everytime
Great Tips, Mike, as always. About your comment on the weight " I am not using so much weight, Mike, in order to grow", your mindset reminds me of another bodybuilder who supports that "train with brain" is much more beneficial. He uses lower weight in order to move the muscle. Once a guy used a 20kg dumbbell for side delts, and he asked this bodybuilder why you use only 8 kg dumbbell. The bodybuilder responded to him, if you look at our shoulders you will understand why. My shoulder is bigger than your head... hahaha- even for naturals, he was of the view that better using the correct weight to move the muscle and get connected, this is what matters most.
These last few videos are a huge awakening for people.. make the weight move instead of just moving weights becomes very clear. Positioning is everything!! Not to mention the T.U.T.. man what a pump that would’ve been lol
Love the vids and the real talk Mike. I do the same thing with my head as you do and feel the same stretch and contraction. Thought I was weird until I watched this, thanks Mike. Great videos
I swear, I’m getting a better physique w/ lighter weighs, since I follow your method. I feel like I’m opening a faucet into a cup (lighter weighs)to what I did before catching water from sprinklers.(heavy weighs). Ty
only when u are a pro, u will know how great this guy is and how much u just learned from one of his video. I don’t say much about someone like this often, but this guy really teach u and does not try to sell u shit👍👍👍
Dear Mike - thanks for another informative video. Please make a similar video on training biceps incl. barbell curls, preacher curls - whether to extend arms fully and relax the muscle in the negative portion of the movement or keep them slightly bent (thus keeping constant tension, etc.), whether to stand stiff as a stick with only the forearms moving (so called strict curls) or let some body English (how much of it is a natural body movement and where does the cheating start?) - thank you in advance. I consider myself a relatively "old dog" but able to learn "new tricks" - in large part thanks to your videos. Greetings from Warsaw (Poland)
I blew my shoulder out years ago now I'm 62 trying to get in shape but the pain now is keeping me from going up on weight. Will lower weight and concentrating more still build muscle?
What would you recommend for someone whos left shoulder hurts when using barbbell and dumbbells? I have been using the machines and they feel so much better. I've use the smith machine in the pasted, but have moved away becuase it's seems restricting.
Yo Mike. You use juice? I'm asking because I've always believed in staying away from it, but I wanna get as huge as possible. I just don't have much knowledge on the topic at all.
Need a series of these with different muscle groups ! Love these breakdowns!
It’s on the way

Hey Mike question do you tend to mix your workouts weekly or usually stick to same routines?
Anyone ever use this Atlantis pec / rear fly machine? Looks smooth
Are the pec machines that force you to place your arms at a 90 degree angle comparable to the opened style you’re using at the start of this video?
The ending is the best 😂
