That’s part of it. Some of it is a reaction to “once saved always saved” and turning it into “once saved barely saved”. It’s more of an absence of grace, and an embracing of legalism. Too much “truth”, too little “spirit”.
The blood of Christ saves me. Opinions regarding the Holy Spirit do not create a mind of salvation. Holy Spirit fanatics deal with the same problems as any other christian.
I'm a member of the church of Christ and I'm not miserable, I have never questioned my salvation, and the Holy Spirit lives in me. He doesn't cause me to jump up and down and speak gibberish, running around the room because the musicians are playing, that's not an indicator of one having the Holy Spirit. He guides me, He corrects me and He convicts me when I decide to go in another direction. He waits for me to come to my senses and come back to Him, He's very patient with me. We don't need instrumental music, just singing praises to the Lord with our voices is all God asked for, Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16.
