Lisa, you're just a quitter! If you had kept going to the doctor for several more years, taking a myriad of more pills, spent countless thousands of dollars of your and insurance money, slowly getting worse... eventually the doctors would have gotten around to cutting out your colon and voila, no more colon cramping and you're "healed!" 😳 Thanks for sharing and that's cool your son got you on, good job son.
I believe fiber is the most harmful thing to the gut, even more so than seed oils. Before adopting the carnivore diet, I had IBS-D and could eat greasy junk food like meat/cheese pizza, chicken wings, French fries and onion rings (my favourite pizza place special) all cooked in or made with seed oil, without any digestive problems except maybe a little heartburn but not always. In contrast, consuming "healthy" options like salads or vegetable soups would lead to immediate discomfort and prolonged bathroom visits. While I don't claim that junk food or seed oils are healthy, their lack of fiber seems to prevent the gut damage that "healthy" foods high in fiber cause. I find it perplexing that doctors continue to advise those with gut issues to increase their fiber intake. I think vegetables and grains and other high fiber foods should come with a warning label.
So interesting to hear this. I was not officially diagnosed with IBS-D but I had my suspicions. I was the same way with the fiber! No problem with the tortillas chips, but the salad gave me trouble.
Can’t wait til I’m off work to finish these new ones! Thank you very much Dave and Lisa! Hope everybody here has a wonderful weekend and God bless!! 🙏🏻❤️
People who can't lose weight on carnivore -- try eating less fat so that your body uses its own fat as fuel. If you're eating fat and you have fat to lose, your body is going to use the fat you eat first and leave the fat that's on your body right where it is. So use the fat on your body as fuel first and then when you lose the weight, increase the fat you eat. That's what Dr. Eric Westman the keto guru at Duke university recommends to his patients.
I’m the sister she’s talking about, and unfortunately, when I take the fat level down I have the hardest time pooping! Then I get bloated. The fat level I’m at keeps that regulated AND satisfied. I can’t move as much as I should because of hip problems and I have hormone issues so I’m just trying to work my way through it all. Since she did this interview I have measured myself and I’m FINALLY starting to lose inches!
@@thehealinggemini That's great! Losing inches is more important than losing weight because another reason the scale might not be moving is because you're gaining muscle and muscle, as we all know, weighs more than fat. Good job! Stick with it.
A dozen Oreos doesn't bring your cholesterol down. The experiment was over a period of about a week and involved more than a dozen Oreos. My understanding of how the theory works is, high LDL as a result of a liver depleted of glycogen in an LMHR phenotype. When carbohydrate is consumed over a period of time to rebuild the glycogen reserves in the liver LDL will likely go down.
@ sorrymybad, i just wanted an excuse to top off my day with chocolate. I guess i have to keep calling my new way-of-eating “cheat-o-vore”. i’m too old to deny myself a few pleasures. But my health continues to improve, so ya can’t beat that for a way to spend retirement.
@ I have hypothyroidism. I do eat sardines, but not often. I followed Dr. Berry and Dr.Brights recommendation for how many drops to take. I’ve noticed it’s helped with symptoms that my meds didn’t help with.

Funny! But also sadly true. So glad I found the correct answer - a proper human diet!
Good evening Lisa, wow, you're doing very well on the PHD. Glad you found carnivore😊

If a dozen Oreos brings cholesterol down, why wouldn’t a piece of chocolate do the same?

Courtney Love cookbook? I am searching for this and cannot find it.
How does carnivore help with teeth grinding how does it work?

Your sister needs more iodine I bet. Great story.
I take 10 drops of Lugols every day. Dr. Bright has taught me a lot about my thyroid issues.
@thehealinggemini 10? Wow! 2%? I only take 5 to 6 and eat some sardines. Do you have hypothyroidism? Hashimoto's? If you don't mind sharing.

A whole egg?
Just the yolk.
