Kung Lao's voice actor convincingly plays "Johnny Cage as Kung Lao" very well.
The fact that Sindel gets to meet Aftermath AND Midway Sindel is a nice touch too.

Thank goodness. Just because in some way this sets aside the awful retcon of her willingly killing Jerrod and following Shao Kahn for power. I mean it still happened in "a" timeline, but no longer THE timeline.
it's weird for shang tsung to sound like a reformed character, when talking to his titan self, as if he's aware of his own wrongdoings and want to prevent becoming evil.
Shang is definitely evil alright, its just that every villain are wise enough to not trust even themseld

In the story Titan Shang Tsung tricked even his new timeline self. MK2023 Shang Tsung learned well not to trust "himself".

I really appreciate Smoke's line of "We share blood, but we are not brothers", calling back to both Kuai Liang and Bi Han's interactions in MK9 and MK11.
It also echoes the opposite sentiment of what Kuai Liang told Smoke in the story about not sharing blood, but they are still brothers

Joker single-handedly causes Earthrealm and Outworld to unite just to get rid of him in the previous game. It's no surprise he could pull an “Injustice Superman” on one of the Liu Kangs.
There's also a Titan Joker running around after his ending in MK11. And he's hooked up with Havik. If Titan Havik starts making moves, Titan Joker won't be far behind...

I love that they are very bold with this things. Before, it was mostly just "I'm the real one" "no, I am the real one" kind of shit and they would only try to explain it but they would quickly discard it. Now it's literally confirmed, like one of Shang Tsung interactions is literally Scyzoth with Shang Tsung's magic
And then there's Raiden and Kung Lao went full on hangover.
