Y'know, we've all heard these songs a dozen times. Now we're watching you react to them. Pausing them to point out special parts and comment is what we're here for. If we want to hear an uninterrupted version we can just go to the original and watch it AGAIN. You go right ahead and pause, replay, backtrack, comment, gush and- react.

Avi does that same bass-drop transition in their cover of Gold that you did earlier. It's just more noticable here b/c you're looking for the transitions. You mentioned you like listening to Scott and Mitch sing together. You really need to start doing some Superfruit (their side project). They do Evolution videos as well. Their Evolutions of Lady Gaga and Miley Cyrus are great. But, I'm especially fond of their "Beyonce" (no evolution since it's all from one album) cover and their "Empire" medley.
PTX have 5 evolution videos. First was Music in 2013, then later that year Beyoncé. Michael Jackson was 2015. Then, in the Matt era, Rihanna in 2018 and Ariana Grande in 2019. All are very worth watching, but you can see the skill jumps and confidence levels when you watch them in order. 😁
I love all of their videos and I like Matt a lot but there was something special that Avi brought to them. I'm not saying Matt isn't great but Avi is next level.
My only intention in mentioning Matt was to clarify the timeline. I don’t have anything to say on the Avi/Matt debate, as I think both are special in very different ways and it’s like comparing apples and oranges. As awesome as PTX has always been, they have improved in skill over the last 8 years, and with experience has come a confidence (in themselves & in what they’re doing) I don’t think they had at first. (I’m comparing Scott’s after video comments in Evo. of Music to the ones after Evo. of Rihanna.) That’s not to detract anything from PTX’s early work, just pointing out that watching the evolution videos in order is one of the easiest ways to see how much they’ve grown.

I appreciate your pausing because it is a pet peeve of mine when reactors talk over the video they are reacting to (and with ptx they do such quick, wicked transitions etc that you could miss a WHOLE LOT by not pausing)
Great reaction as always! I don't mind pausing if you have something to say. My favorite reactors always rewind a second or so after pausing so they don't miss any transitions. As you know PTX has the most amazing transitions and a lot of vocal surprises so a 1 second backup after a pause always avoids you "missing the best part".

I appreciate pausing when it’s someone with musical understanding! You it’s so much fun to watch because you can understand how **insane** their capabilities are on a technical level. (Unless it’s vocal coaches 🙄... maybe just my own trauma from 20+ years in choirs haha) Also, it’s better than talking over the video. And pausing is a necessary copyright avoidance with a lot of their videos, but I’m not sure if any of the evolution videos are among them. They are only on RUclips. None of them are on their albums that I’ve seen. I’ve also never heard a reactor say they’ve had one of these blocked.

With all of these, and so many other early videos, they are sitting on chairs or a couch, and they take turns singing the solo parts and they all kill it. Not to be rude or stereotype but you don't look like the person who loves Michael... but im so happy when people who aren't typical fans end up being the best fans. Im a Huge Michael and Freddie fan i feel they were on the same level of genius. I was super worried when they did Bohemian Rhapsody but they did an amazing job. And I loved this because we got a taste of all of his music kinda start to finish. And they seemed to only change the arrangement to fit 5 voices.

Actually, IMO the early ones with Avi were just as amazing as anything they have done recently. His mastery of the bass transition was epic.
