The stars on the astronaut definitely look more realistic with the varying sizes. Being able to point it any direction is also really nice. Other projectors should really add that feature.
I liked the stars on the Astronaut too. It would be better if the stars were blue and you could turn the nebula off. If the stars from the astronaut combined with the nebula from the galaxy one it’d be perfect.
I haven’t bought one of these projectors yet but I think one thing I like more about the astronaut one is the stars seem more natural and the stars on the other one seemed too close to each other and too linear
While the nebula is disappointing, the star pattern and spread is the best I have seen from your videos I have watched. And the price is great. Thanks for reviewing it!
I forgot about this channel.. never again. I've always been obsessed with lights and basically everything this channel covers, one of your first video finally inspired me to get a neon sign, something I've wanted for ages. Now I have 3!
I think they could have done a much better job in Galaxy projector 2.0 as far as the star pattern is concerned. They could for example show the core of the milky way instead of showing a pattern of stars that looks like the kaleidoscope effect. The repetition of the pattern of stars is quite noticeable. Not worth the price at all. Nice review.
Yes - if you look at the axis of rotation, the 'stars' form a series of concentric circles with a few other stars scattered about. I prefer the star distribution of the Astronaut projector, with a few bright stars randomly scattered among the less bright ones, even if the overall effect is not so good. I won't be buying either.

Almost 10 I rate 7. I wish they had an option of a more realistic night sky. Maybe less stars, NO moon phases. and every now and then a shooting star. with less light escape from projector.
Do the lasers always hit your eyes? I used to have some lasers but they were always getting in my eyes and I think they contributed to loosing my 20/20 vision and needing glasses. So I’m really looking for one that just hits the ceiling and doesn’t cover the entire room.
Just getting a few years older sometimes greatly effects vision. I remember waking up one morning around age 40 and things were more blurry than before. Started needing reading glasses. It's a natural progression. My eye doctor actually told me it would happen around that age and he was right.
The have the astronaut bought it for my friends kid. I plugged it in liked to so much I wanted to keep it. I ended up buying a second. It’s great. Aesthetically pleasing also. As is.
I love your content. I also have the Astronaut Projector. The animation doesn't jump at all, it is very smooth. Also, I don't hear any major noise at all. I'm sure you have a bad unit here. I wish more projector comes with a remote control instead of the phone apps only. I heard the Galaxy Projector 2.0 and the Bliss Lights apps requested way too many permission (contact, gps, photo, etc) from your phone just to operate. Those apps have a rating of 2 out of 5. How is your experience with those apps?
That's great to hear, definitely just got a bad copy it seems. I don't really use the apps, I just find my favourite setting, and then automate it for on/off with my alexa personally with all my other lighting gear!
Bought the little ASTRO dude after watching this, but it's dead silent and doesn't skip like the one in the video, I think something is wrong with yours.
You can adjust brightness remove the nebula and nebula speed with the remote. Whichever brand you buy of these astronauts. I’ll be buying one off eBay at some point
The elephant in the room is green stars. Integrating a white LED with the RGB seems a no brainer. Surprised you don't notice that, given video production quality.
They are laser stars...not LED stars. There is no such thing as a native white laser. Green lasers are the brightest source power input and why we see them on most star projectors by default. To produce a white laser is much more advanced and would involve combining a red, green and blue laser of different wavelengths into a singular beam first. This would complicate the product design from many different aspects including, power, heat, safety, cost, and size just to name a few, which is why we only see what appears to be "white" colored lasers on advanced projection systems and in professional applications, (stage and concert visuals for example).
I have the astronaut projector, no noise and no jumping/skipping on the image. I wish I could slow the nebula movement a little more. My concern is I don’t know if I trust the green laser rating because of the manufacturer and price point. Also I’ve been searching to see if anyone has done an IR leak test on it.
Higher powered lasers are significantly more expensive and subject to more shipping restraints, so I doubt it would be in a manufactures interest to be anything other than Class 1.
Probably take a look at Govee's new projector it has the best stars and a planets disc. Only downside is you need to use it pretty much in a completely dark room. I'm releasing a set of new videos in the next few weeks on it, so stay tuned!
Thanks for this video. I bought the Galaxy Projector 2.0 months ago thanks to your review. I am happy with my purchase. Very rarely I do see it shift & make a sound just like the Astronaut demo. I notice it when it's really quite, but mostly I use it as background lighting for my content on Instagram with music so it's not a big deal. Like I said it happens rarely so it isn't noticed much. My Galaxy Projector 2.0 is not in frame in my content, but the Astronaut is cute and if I had it then I feel like I'd want it in frame, but then it might defeat the purpose of the projecting aspect lol.
Sorry out of topic but i may found a trouble with my projector, the nebula is not spinning like usual, i tried everything but it's not spinning either way. Is the spinning thingy broken?

Bought the little ASTRO dude after watching this, but it's dead silent and doesn't skip like the one in the video, I think something is wrong with yours.
How long did it take to deliver ?
Unrelated, but what camera/webcam did you use for this video? It’s so clear and picks up LEDs gorgeously (thanks for the review btw!)
Your most welcome, working with this here as my main camera: amzn.to/3tfv1I7
You can adjust brightness remove the nebula and nebula speed with the remote. Whichever brand you buy of these astronauts. I’ll be buying one off eBay at some point
Yo just bought one of these for £12.99 ! It’s great
amazing in depth review. thankyou sir!
Your most welcome!
Has anyone tried putting a curved lens in front of the nebula projector to make it bigger?
Great video. I would've loved to see both on at once though!
How long did u charge it for ?
How many display options did they both have?
The nebula has stopped spinning, it still lights up but it's not spinning. Do you know how I can fix this?
Appreciate the great reviews, got to go with the astronaut!
My nebula doesn't work. Remote controller either. What should I do bout this?
I got an instant refund if you report it soon enough.
Hard for me to tell what brand is legit with this astronaut projector?
Thanks for the comparison between ASTRONAUT Projector VS. GALAXY Projector 2.0...
Do u think this would be good in a car ?
So what's the hack ?
What is the “secret hack” though???
Click bait ?
Where do I pick the astronaut projector up?
I give up. What's the secret hack, indicated in the thumbnail???
The only thing i dont like about it is that you cant change the star color, otherwise very cool😊
I agree, im on the hunt for a projector i think pairing is the best thing to do. But i want planets. Which one would you recommend?
Probably take a look at Govee's new projector it has the best stars and a planets disc. Only downside is you need to use it pretty much in a completely dark room. I'm releasing a set of new videos in the next few weeks on it, so stay tuned!
The astronaut is so cute, it wins without even turning it on.
Pretty Awesome!
So would you say that the Evolve is better than the Astronaut? I'm undecided if i prefer the astronaut or evolve they both look fantastic
Evolve is a better all round option. The secret to the Astronaut is to buy it for it's stars!
Well said! Happy your enjoying the Galaxy Projector 2.0 purchase! Thanks for watching
Do you have green or blue?
Can Astronaut one choose colour 1 colour at the time? or have to be mix colour .I just like all the colour except red thank you
dude you were amazing in Punisher
ahahah
Sorry out of topic but i may found a trouble with my projector, the nebula is not spinning like usual, i tried everything but it's not spinning either way. Is the spinning thingy broken?
great review as always, thank you very much!
would you do a comparison between the new Bliss Lights Sky Lite Evolve vs. Galaxy Projector 2.0 ?
I will in the fall!
Does it have to stay plugged up? Or is it rechargeable?
Has to stay plugged up
Which star projectors are completely portable / wireless? and which are rated at 110-240 volts charging for both US + EU use?
Hi, Futurespace. Your Astronaut projector is really cool. But there is a new Astronaut Projector with bluetooth speaker and a Galaxy Projector 2.0 with a Whirlwind, Galaxy Light effect. They're now available in shopping online.
Can you link it pls?

Try to go to any shopping onlines.
The stars of my proyector dont work well, do u know what could have happened?
I believe you can adjust the nebula light in astronaut projector 1 by clicking the b+ button on the remote
The 2.0 stars are too uniform and close to eachother... I don't like how that looks. Seems the astronaut is much wider coverage.
