i don’t know how VV have managed to make 1&2 so good. They took two classics, made them look and feel brand new. Added stuff without ever making it not feel like the original games. They are remaster gods.
THPS 2 for PC was great especially because of the mods available. You were able to replace all the levels with the THPS1 levels, make your own skins for shirts, shoes, and even faces to use with the create a skater. My best ones were Daewon Song and Mike Carroll. I'm very thankful for whoever those hackers were that figured that out and released it all for free.
It's amazing Robomodo lasted as long as they did; far more competent dev studios were shut down for less. Thank goodness we have the Vicarious remake now. I hope Activision keeps them on board for further iterations of the franchise.
Actually at the time of HD Rodney did change to Goofy for and was almost permanent because of the various injuries and scar tissues that was causing his body to lock up, he got everything situated and is looking to be native in both stances.
Man, excellent review and analysis of this broken game! Most reviews I see just complain the countless glitches and physics, but you gave an incredible analysis on why this game was a flop! Kudos to you dude, keep up the great work!
Whats really sad and frustrating is that Activision kept using Romodo when they did not make a single good Tony Hawk game. I use to think Proving Ground was a bad game but now I'll take that game over THPS HD, Ride, Shred, and THPS 5. Cause bro nothing Romodo made was good.
After playing this game i rang up Tony himself.. I told him that hes not the same, hes changed and i dont need him anyway, he told me that he believes in yesterday... We both cried :(
I had completely forgotten about that Skater Heaven level until you mentioned it. I used to love that level is just felt so cool almost like you were playing on the moon minus the moon physics.
My first experience with the THPS series was renting THPS2 on the N64 way back when I was a kid. Unlike a lot of games where I didn't get the opportunity to beat them in the 7 days I was allotted by the rental store, Pro Skater 2's arcade-style gameplay made it perfect for playing in short bursts. I later got the PC version as a gift, and either through perseverance or some miracle, I managed to get fairly good at it by using a keyboard, as I didn't have a gamepad at the time. I credit THPS2 for igniting my interest in skateboarding, various genres of music (hip-hop and punk chief among them), and for still imagining skate lines in my head wherever I go.
I don't know wether it was the lack of newer TH games on PC, but I kinda enjoyed THPS HD. Sure it lacks a lot of features, it's full of bugs and broken mechanics, but still. After getting the hang of it and remembering what ticks it off into breaking, I managed to beat it multiple times with different character. Nice review, i'm sticking with this channel and will enjoy seeing it grow.
I beat it multiple times too, mostly because my screen recording kept failing. I think the game wouldn't have been that bad if the original wasn't around anymore. It's so easy to play a better version, as long as you can get past the graphics.
definitely agree with you, tony hawks 2 was by far the best of all of them, captured realistic skating perfectly, nice to control, not too over the top, like the later versions were. played it for years on my old pc using wasd... was so addictive. never found that with the later versions.
I believe THPS HD used Unreal Engine, not the THPS U2 Engine. They probably only used the Assets from THPS U2 and ported everything else over (or redid it from scratch) thus the changed physics and all the glitches.
Hi Rad, I have Xbox version and I was also really bummed out that they didn't make the best version. I gave up for a few months, then came back and finished unlocking the rest of the achievements. They left out so much, like you said. Besides that, I think classic THPS 2 really changed skating for real because people started combo-ing in real life. Manual to flip into a grind to flip out into a manual, etc. I'm going to be 45 in a couple of weeks but I never figured out how to kick flip, only heel flip and shuv-based tricks, so there's enough that I can do and have fun, and I hope to be skating for fun a lot longer. Keep the great videos coming, I love the way you make them in HD and you have such clear speech, and are well-spoken.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 is one of my favorites, as well as being the first one I played. I remember after beating everything, I turned on the flying cheats and it was so much fun. As for PS2, THPS3 and THUG2 were pretty good. I think I have to give it to THUG2 with the online play, and glitch secrets like riding on the water in the stage with the boat, or getting in the background in the temple level.
12:37 - My first experience with Tony Hawk was the first game on Nintendo 64 at a friend's house but the first Tony Hawk game I owned was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on Game Boy Color. However, my first owned Tony Hawk game on a console was Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 on PlayStation 2 and that game was very revolutionary to me and it still holds up as my second favorite Tony Hawk game with Tony Hawk's Underground being my #1. THPS4 got me into skateboarding for like a year.
I remember getting this on download on 360 and within about 1 minute I was like 'these physics are totally different, and crap' and just turning it off.
There was so many unused levels: THPS1 - Streets, Burnside and Roswell THPS2 - NYC Park, Skate Street, Skate Heaven THPS3 - Foundry, Suburbia, Rio, Skater Island, Tokyo, Cruise Ship THPS4 - London, Shipyard, Alcatraz, Bonus Level Chicago
Lowering stats to play realistically is the biggest feature I miss from the earlier games. I also loved 2 the best but I did like the park building aspect that they brought in with 3 I believe?
Blader ZYeYO was that feature available on all platforms? I don't remember that on the n64 version but I definitely could have overlooked it and just gotten more involved with the game play on thps 3 for ps2.
of what i remember the big differences that i seen between 2 and 3 was in 3 the revert trick that allowed you to connect vert combos with street, and the biggest thing that was added was Online the first game in the series to add this mode though it was only for PS2 and PC. In create a skater 2 only allowed you to pick male in 3 that was the first time you can pick a female. the other thing that was a big change was in 3 they made it so you did not have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for special tricks like you did in 2.
It's so weird seeing all the lifelong THPS fans trash this game, when HD was what got me into the series. I got the demo, played that for a bit, kept coming back to it, then I bought the full game, and even though it didn't feel great to play, I couldn't stop playing it. It was fun! Then a few years later I bought all the most important games in the series (1-4, THUG 1 & 2, American Wasteland), and I realized HD was easily the weakest of the bunch. And yet I can't bring myself to dislike HD - it introduced me to one of my favorite franchises, and I'm grateful for that.
There really are reasons to dislike this game though. Even if you ignore the physics and stuff, it was really scummy content-wise, especially when marketed as a "HD remake" of the first two games. It contained only 7 levels overall, 3 from the THPS1 and 4 from THPS2 (excluding paid THPS3 DLC). A remake of two games having less content than either one of those it was supposed to be an upgrade for! Hell, PC version of THPS2 had 2 out of 3 levels from the OG game that were included in HD *and* a level editor on top of that.
as a younger person (17) my first experience with tony hawk was unfortunately shred but i did love it as a kid, i got it when i was like 5 lmao. tony hawk hd was my fav game for a while when i was a kid, but i had only got it because my parents wouldnt get me skate 3 lmao
First one I played was the first one! Back in '99. My all time favorite one was Underground 1. I loved everything about that game. Best music, levels, and story.
May or may not be worth mentioning. But you can get Pro Skater HD on steam right now for $1.99. The DLC is unfortunately still $4.99. But the game is up for a few days before being delisted. Also you can view the gap list in the pause menu by pressing ctrl.
my future stepsister had an original playstation, and one of the games she had was the original tony hawk's pro skater. that was the first game i ever played. i was about 3-4 years old at the time.
I got THPS on N64 as a kid around the time it came out. Played it forever. I will always love THPS3 on PS2 though. If that game had School 2 and spine transfers it would be the perfect Tony Hawk.
what improved the series for me personally (and made them a million times more enjoyable) was the option to manually kick of the ground to control your speed instyead of being forced to hold the jump button (or press forward button).
They should have gone the THUGPro route and reused the same engine as UG2. In fact, THUGPro is basically an unofficial, improved version of this, with more levels than just the first two games.
My first experience was watching that amazing trailer, and seeing the gameplay, then after begging my dad to finally order Pizza Hut so I could get my hands on the demo. It instantly became one of my favorite things to play and I remember getting the game for Christmas and being extremely excited. I played it exclusively for months and months. I remember being slightly disappointed by 2 to be perfectly honest. The cash system added another level of unnecessary complication to the fun arcade gameplay of the original. Why does Tony Hawk need to pick up cash to buy a go faster upgrade? All in all I stayed with the series until Underground, because it was by far the most entertaining game in the series and remains my favorite to this day. Of the classic trilogy 3 is my favorite easily. It took everything that the first two games did, removed cash, and added supremely fun online multiplayer.
I love how spot on this video is. It's hard to explain this to anybody who wasn't die hard into the series. When you first play HD you just totally feel like nothing's the same. The game just got cheaper. Honestly what would have been just fine, and even preferred, is to take the EXACT same game and just have it in HD. Just make it look nice and keep the feel.
I agree with your analysis of THPS2, I think Tekken 2&3 on PS1 did the same thing for 3D fighting games (landed the impact, weight and feeling of moves perfectly). Did you ever get "paralyzed" in THPS2? I happened to me a few times to me when I was a kid. If you'd land on your neck after taking air from a quarterpipe, your character wouldn't be able to get up anymore. If I recall correctly, you had to restart your console after it happened (ie you couldn't start and exit the stage).
Yes, it might be a PAL/Platinum exclusive bug! I can't remember how many times it happened, but I do remember it happening to me multiple times so I dreaded the moment when it would happen.I spent a lot of time playing this game when I got it back then, it inspired me to skate as well (picked Muska for his looks first but Mullen's trick selection won me over... caspers, darkslides, truckstands and primos were magic to me when I didn't skate myself and couldn't understand how gnarly the more "basic" tricks other pros were pulling on stair sets and rails).
Oh that could be possible! I remember the first time I saw Mullen's video. I thought 'he did a manual... with the board upside down?!' It blew my mind.
It's kinda funny that Rodney Mullen is "goofy" in THPSHD, Activison also did the same mistake with Reynolds in Tony Hawks American Wasteland if I remember corectly.
0:28 "Those things (Reverts, getting off your board, pressure flips, the shit that the sequels introduced and etc) helped keep the games fresh, but I don't think they improved on the formula." How did things like the revert or getting off your board not improve the formula? The formula of Tony Hawk games has always been centered on tricks, wacky combo-lines, and the many ways to keep combos alive as you racked up a high score and completed objectives that revolved around the map you were thrown into, all the while styling off of every inch of the map. Reverts served the same purpose as the manual, which was to keep your combo alive but this time, ensured that your combos can continue beyond the quarter pipes. Getting off your board served the same purpose as the other two as well, it was a new traversal option that helped keep your combo alive as well as giving you a way to reposition yourself for your next line without the risk of bailing.
The irony is that Robomoto said that it was the first time you can play a tony hawk game on PC... That's not true, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 had a pc port
Mullen is goofy footed now. He changed his stance a while back after he had some hip troubles - so that is kind of correct, and shows that they least did some research (all the wrong research, but research none the less)
THPS 2 b-cuz...manuals and custom parks...man, we never played a demo so hard and then digged the full version even harder, also managed to get an US Disk with US PS (so we where playing it a lot sooner than anyone else we knew^^) and spent like 50 bucks on connectors and adaptors alone...just for the ONE game...great times, one of my old friends made that one 2:30 combo (in a 2 minute run^^), netting nearly 3M points...dunno if that still is a record, back then it was...when I looked it up on 56k modem internet it was by far the biggest score I could find for that one level (which name I can´t remember, it started on a hill with a ledge to the right and had a park in the middle)
You didn't think the revert improved the formula? It's what tied the entire combo system together! Everything after that was pretty much redundant, though.
That was a trip to see. But why leave a channel with way more subscribers rather than uploading your reviews onto there? It's still skating related anyways.
Oh boy thank you!! I was looking for his videos for ages! I've been getting back into skateboarding recently and wanted to re-watch some old stuff like old video parts and so on and for some reason I remembered the trick tips of this guy doing a lot of techy stuff in his streetway even in snow and stuff like that...thought it was Aaron Kyro for some reason but I realized it wasn't him...and this was this morning. Since I couldn't find it I went back to check my old EA Skate 1 -2 - 3 games and all the THPS games, randomly stumbled upon this review(which I didn't even wanna click at first), found your comment, searched for "Arron L" and...BOOM! Found it! This is so random and it brings back so many memories it's amazing :')
Personally i loved THPS4 and project 8 the most i liked the introduction to the "nail the trick" slo mo mode and found it exciting, but yes I believe after Proving Ground, they just quit trying,
Oh but i loved the side missions in the 4th one and i loved the sound track, pretty entertaining, even the Choose a skater Roster menu was sweet , scrolling through the characters while they stand on the deck of the half pipe doing gestures and or trying their fav trick, Rodney's was my favorite with his little cave man casper (correct me if im wrong) ..... But Aaron which controller would you recommend for phone play? And will you ever review the EA series? they are unbeatable at skate physics.
Yeah it's definitely a great game! No argument there. I have a Moga controller. I would generally recommend it, but it doesn't work very often. I have to try to connect it a dozen times before it actually works. Maybe it's just getting old, but I didn't use it that much before it started to have problems. I will review the Skate series. I just got a converter capture thing so I can finally get PS3 footage. Not sure when I'll get to it, but I will.
You must be playing the DVD of the original release, I have the Steam version that got a "revert pack" update and many of these problems have been fixed. There's still some weird animations, but I don't recall falling through the level or grinding in the middle of objects and a lot of those issues. Overall, it plays pretty well now. It's not quite as refined as the originals, but it's pretty good and the updated graphics do look nice. It also appears to be better optimized as I was able to play it at 720p on a 2009 Macbook Pro running Windows 10 in Bootcamp with a core2duo and a 9600m GT graphics card and you can now run it at 1080p and I think even higher as they added resolution selection to the menu. If you can find a Steam key for it from a key reseller like Kinguin.net I would definitely get the Steam version with the revert DLC. The Dreamcast version in an emulator is probably better on a technical level, but it's still fun as it is and it's fun to see it with modernized graphics that still hold up pretty well.
Would you consider doing a video on the history of skateboarding in parallel with longboarding? I've seen and read countless retellings of how skateboarding started in the 60s and evolved over the decades, but I never hear about how longboarding branched off. A lot of disciplines that used to fall under skateboarding, like slalom, downhill, and freestyle, are only known as longboarding now, while skateboarding is just associated with popsicle decks, but how did that come about? Given the amount of research you've put into your other videos, I think you'd do a great job
I love your reviews, you go into great detail about why the game doesn't play as good as the PS1 games. My first experience with Tony Hawk was when my brother's mate forgot to take his copy of THPS 2 home with him. I walked into my bedroom and I found the game sitting on the floor, I put the game on and I was addicted from that day. I also loved the later ones, THUG 1 is my favourite in the whole series mainly because of the storyline and interesting levels. I hope they do a THUG 3 someday, I would consider getting myself a PS4 just to play that game. Have you ever thought about doing a review of THUG 1? Because I would really love to know your opinion on it.
Thank you! I was introduced to it by a friend too. I really liked Underground at the time, but I'm not sure if it will still hold up. The story mode was a good, and Chad Muska was hilarious. I'm sure I'll get to it in time.
On the NYC level in THPS2 how come only sometimes there is a gate up there blocking off the secret area? Im usually just able to wallride up there but other times it's blocked off by the fence.
First experience was my brother beating me in graffiti all the time. favorite game was 4 I think, because you can practice on the half pipe at the skateshop.
Back in the day... we were all poor and didnt have computers... even the richer kids... so we all went to the "gaming cafe" to play thps2... it was huge bragging rights back then... and they had great offers like 5p for all nighters... you could just finish the game... if you didnt suck :)
I don't think there are a lot of people playing this game these days, since it was released as a digital download and for pc. And you can't download it on PS3 and XBOX 360 anymore.
My first real experience playing a Tony Hawk game would be renting Tony Hawk's Pro Skater from a local video store for Nintendo 64 as well as Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 on Nintendo 64. I first got my own copy of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for Nintendo 64 for Christmas 2001. They're was one problem though, I did not have a memory card for a while so I couldn't save the game after beating some of the levels. At first it took me years to beat the original as well as THPS2, but nowadays I can beat THPS in about an hour or something. For Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 a bit longer but... I can probably beat it in a few hours or so. If you like Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 allot, I think I'd recommend trying Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 on Nintendo 64, it feels allot like THPS2 on N64 and PSONE. But I'd probably rather play the PlayStation Version of THPS3 which is why about 11 years ago I traded my N64 Versions of THPS 2 and THPS3 for the PlayStation and PlayStation 2 versions.
When I played this game, I didn't know what to expect (since I had never heard of it at the time). Obviously, I never thought it could hold a candle to the originals, and to be honest, I didn't even think it was that bad of a game. It has its issues, but I never actually ran into most of the glitches in this video. I never imagined people thought this was the worst Tony Hawk game of all time (well, at least until Pro Skater NOT 5 came out). Looks like I'll have to change my opinion.
Lmao dude, I always thought the 360 flip was mesmerizing, myself. I used to try and play as realistically as possible and squeeze it in at the end of grinds. I agree with all the flaws you call out for the HD version, I feel like I forced myself to enjoy it mainly for the solely-missed THPS dose. Damn shame how lacking HD really was.
Lemme give you a little tip on how to enjoy it at least a little bit. Look at it as a new game with old maps. Don't look at it as a remaster, but as a new game.
I believe the whole gameplay issue with physics is the use of Unreal 3 engine, what made thps games great was the custom engine which i would assume Activision still has since they own the rights to the series but i don't believe Robomodo had the skill and time to use since they were used to the easier but less functional (for skateboarding game) U3 engine. One thing I don't agree on with you is your opinion on the whole tricks and the way they look business, seems too picky but i have my own share of nitpicks with this port so I'm not judging... but other than that good job on pointing out most of the flaws!
trying to 100 percent the achievements now (havent played it since 2016) so i dont have to look at it ever again, i regret reinstalling it, its worse than i remember
I can agree that 360 flip is good in THPS 2, but please don't call 360 flip in THPS 3 "weird". THPS 3 was the entry i spent the most time playing with.
Personally for me the original thps is my all time favorite, with thps hd being my absolute least favorite. Just the incredibly loose fizics and random glitches. By the way, anyone else encounter that partickularly annoying one where you fall, you keep respawning and falling and have to restart your run?
I actually think the third game was the best, that was the peak of the original formula. Missions began in 4 and by the time underground came around everything had changed. That being said I liked underground and THPS4 but lost interest after Underground. For me the third game is the best for gameplay while the first game has the beat soundtrack
They did not steal the source code for anything, that is a lie it uses the unreal engine. If they had done stole the source code it would have been better. Activision rushed out tonyhawk HD for the holiday season and gave robomoto basically nothing in terms of a budget, they couldn't patch it because activision planned on just releasing it and thats that.. The ragdoll physics is just unreals ragdoll physics.
Physics issues aside. Are the glitches specific to the PC version? I never ran into any major clipping or out of bounds issues on the PS3 version, which did get a patch and DLC adding THPS3 levels(which had terrible framerates) and reverts.
I have the Steam PC version with the revert pack and I think the revert update fixed a lot of bugs from the original release. It's still not perfect, but it's a lot better than the version he's playing.
Thanks! I loved the series. I'm planning on reviewing them in the future. I finally got a capture device that can deal with the PS3's HDMI encryption, so I can start my playthrough soon. Not sure exactly when I'll do it. I have a lot of other games on the list too.
I'll still take Tony Hawk HD over Ride, Shred, and Pro Skater 5...I admit, it's not the best remake and despite some issues in the game, I was still having a good time playing it
I think I've tried to complete this 100% about six times, and EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It has glitched out and told me I haven't collected 100% cash, but I have and has left me with no way to finish it as the cash literally isn't there anymore because I COLLECTED IT!!!
The devs at Vicarious definitely took this review into consideration and made possibly the best remaster of all time.
I love when developers actually listen to the fans and make the game we all want. Thps 1 and 2 is amazing
Think of 1+2 as this, but done the way it should have been done.
I agree
i don’t know how VV have managed to make 1&2 so good. They took two classics, made them look and feel brand new. Added stuff without ever making it not feel like the original games. They are remaster gods.
Rip vicarious visions
"Nobody will want to touch a remake after this"
Vicarious Visions: Hold my skateboard
Watching this after getting Tony Hawks Pro Skater 1 + 2
I got into skating because of Rodney Mullen's video in THPS2 too :)
Sk8nRock me three
i got into skating because of extremely goofy skateboarding

Dude these crack me up. I love how blunt u are. No pun intended (:
Haha I knew you meant to do that. Thank you!
+Rad Rat Video sure thing man! Can't wait for more content.
Actually at the time of HD Rodney did change to Goofy for and was almost permanent because of the various injuries and scar tissues that was causing his body to lock up, he got everything situated and is looking to be native in both stances.

Actually in 2007 Rodney Mullen had to turn switch because he damaged his hip joint skating regular
That is right, rodney changed his stance when he found he could make advancements riding goofy
After playing this game i rang up Tony himself.. I told him that hes not the same, hes changed and i dont need him anyway, he told me that he believes in yesterday...
We both cried :(
King_K_Rool_ something‘s missing anyway :/
Another great review. I totally forgot about Sim Mode in THPS2! Now I know what I'm playing later today.
Thanks! Yeah, I haven't played it in years! This channel is a good excuse for me to go back and relive some of this stuff. Enjoy the game.
my first experience was playing thug and pro skater 3 as a kid. I'm glad I was able to play them before the whole series went to shit.
ThunBeast same those are the best 2 of the series for me
THUG is a god damn masterpiece.
I had completely forgotten about that Skater Heaven level until you mentioned it. I used to love that level is just felt so cool almost like you were playing on the moon minus the moon physics.

P L A Y THUG PRO IMMEDIATELY and UNINSTALL.EXE that T R A S H
Hawk man isn't really new to this game, it was first introduced in Proving Ground, and it actually works in that game.
Wow, really? I know I played that game back when it came out, but I guess it didn't leave much of an impression. Thanks for the tip.
It's in the arcade machines with Classic mode and High score run.
definitely agree with you, tony hawks 2 was by far the best of all of them, captured realistic skating perfectly, nice to control, not too over the top, like the later versions were. played it for years on my old pc using wasd... was so addictive. never found that with the later versions.
"Just look at it"
Yup... its a flip all right

of what i remember the big differences that i seen between 2 and 3 was in 3 the revert trick that allowed you to connect vert combos with street, and the biggest thing that was added was Online the first game in the series to add this mode though it was only for PS2 and PC. In create a skater 2 only allowed you to pick male in 3 that was the first time you can pick a female. the other thing that was a big change was in 3 they made it so you did not have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for special tricks like you did in 2.
Looking forward to your review later this year on the new PS4 THPS1&2
Also don’t know how I came across your channel but I’m glad I did!
6:54 Mat Hoffman's Pro BMX 2 had similar bail animations, as the game screen fades to a point that your rider is able to ride again normally.
Hell, PC version of THPS2 had 2 out of 3 levels from the OG game that were included in HD *and* a level editor on top of that.
appreciate you putting these videos out man

That's the ONLY thing that constantly bothers me every single time
as a younger person (17) my first experience with tony hawk was unfortunately shred but i did love it as a kid, i got it when i was like 5 lmao. tony hawk hd was my fav game for a while when i was a kid, but i had only got it because my parents wouldnt get me skate 3 lmao
What's important to note is that all three of the THPS3 DLC levels were the ones that returned in THUG2.
I noticed tgat aswell.
First one I played was the first one! Back in '99. My all time favorite one was Underground 1. I loved everything about that game. Best music, levels, and story.
I'm playing the first one right now! I'm planning on a review soon.
Let's see how Activision's new THPS 1+2 remake will be
They're being redone by Vicarious Visions, the same people who remade the Crash and Spyro games, so I'm pretty sure they'll be good
It's a masterpiece
1st i played was thps on psx but my most favourite is underground 2 for ps2

Wow, no, I never even heard of that. And I think I spent a couple hundred hours in that game over the years. This was on the PS1 version?
So few subscribers, but keep going! Sooner or later, you'll reach 10k :)
It's kinda funny that Rodney Mullen is "goofy" in THPSHD, Activison also did the same mistake with Reynolds in Tony Hawks American Wasteland if I remember corectly.
I tweaked the engine file for put "low graphics on it", its totally possible, with resolution, and all things.
0:28 "Those things (Reverts, getting off your board, pressure flips, the shit that the sequels introduced and etc) helped keep the games fresh, but I don't think they improved on the formula."
How did things like the revert or getting off your board not improve the formula?
My first experience was the THPS 1 on a PS1, and stills my favority game of the TH series
Mullen's videos were also my favourite in the old THPS games. :)
2 and 4 were the best I think.
You didn't think the revert improved the formula? It's what tied the entire combo system together! Everything after that was pretty much redundant, though.
Furby Field Goal gotta agree with that
dude did you used to have a channel "Arron L" and you had some skate vids on there? you look familiar
Yeah it was 'aronl'. I stopped working on that years ago and got this one started in 2015
That was a trip to see. But why leave a channel with way more subscribers rather than uploading your reviews onto there? It's still skating related anyways.
That channel had a bunch of copyright strikes and stuff. It was easier to just start fresh.
Rad Rat Video
well you should log in to that channel if u still can and tell all those subs to move to your new channel
I WAS SOOOOOOO disappointed they took out my favourite skater on the lets play I did for this game; I miss you Bucky
mall and downhill jam were mad fun for me. personal preference i guess
Personally i loved THPS4 and project 8 the most i liked the introduction to the "nail the trick" slo mo mode and found it exciting, but yes I believe after Proving Ground, they just quit trying,
I loved THPS4 and Underground at the time, but I never feel like going back and playing them like I do THPS2 these days.
+fartsnstuf yea man the only real excing part of it was nail the trick, i loved that
+Jose R. Morales exciting *
Reverting DID improve on the formula. I wish it was in THPS2. It makes it possible to do crazy infinite combos if you were skilled enough
They fixed a ton of the issues you mentioned. Too bad you can’t buy this game anymore. Definitely glad I bought it before they delisted it.
First experience was my brother beating me in graffiti all the time. favorite game was 4 I think, because you can practice on the half pipe at the skateshop.
My first experience was a demo version of the original with the warehouse only.
Back in the day... we were all poor and didnt have computers... even the richer kids... so we all went to the "gaming cafe" to play thps2... it was huge bragging rights back then... and they had great offers like 5p for all nighters... you could just finish the game... if you didnt suck :)
Thank goodness for the new remake
I don't think there are a lot of people playing this game these days, since it was released as a digital download and for pc. And you can't download it on PS3 and XBOX 360 anymore.
thug2 and thps3 and thug1 i just loved seeing your character sock eric in the face
Dude, I was the one who landed the McTwist over that helicopter!
lmao
I never experienced any glitches in this game as far as I remember, but I was playing on Ps3
Why do I feel like I played that “big head survival” mode in thps3. Am I losing it?
my fav was tony hawks underground but i really love tony hawks 2
I'm not gonna lie, I actually really liked this game.
I really wished there was more, but this game was only $15 when it came out.
Lemme give you a little tip on how to enjoy it at least a little bit.
Look at it as a new game with old maps. Don't look at it as a remaster, but as a new game.
Great video I really like your insight
This is probably around the same time companies started outsourcing heavily
I can agree that 360 flip is good in THPS 2, but please don't call 360 flip in THPS 3 "weird". THPS 3 was the entry i spent the most time playing with.
Personally for me the original thps is my all time favorite, with thps hd being my absolute least favorite. Just the incredibly loose fizics and random glitches. By the way, anyone else encounter that partickularly annoying one where you fall, you keep respawning and falling and have to restart your run?
Please review project 8!
Are you gonna do TH Proving Ground?
My first Th game was pro skater 2 for the n64.
I bought HD back when it was new in 2012. To this day I still feel ripped off.
Rad have you heard of Tony Hawk Pro Slater 5 For PS4 & Xbox One?.
I can’t find any thps in the iOS App Store. Where do I find it
i'm sorry if this is a common question but how do you feel about EA:skate game? do you have plans on reviewing it too? great video btw!
Thanks! I loved the series. I'm planning on reviewing them in the future. I finally got a capture device that can deal with the PS3's HDMI encryption, so I can start my playthrough soon. Not sure exactly when I'll do it. I have a lot of other games on the list too.
good to know! thanks
