Thank you for showing us these cards. I find the old Yu-Gi-Oh! cards appealing in a way that the new cards are not. It's hard to put my finger on why. Perhaps it's nostalgia. Even so, they are aesthetically pleasing and I prefer the general applicability of their effects to the archetype specific effects every card seems to have now. I also prefer the slower paced, longer games of classic Yu-Gi-Oh! where resources are more limited, summoning your most powerful monsters is a real achievement of some significance and deep strategic thinking is an absolute necessity.

I definitely prefer playing the 3rd meta. TER is one of my favourite cards to use. Also good choice using MRL mst over the ulti one, the ulti one looks so bad imo because of the dots. Ulti ring is my preferred max rarity but i can see why Retro pack trumps it.
It was fun back then. We used many fun cards which could be used. Dustshoot was ok, but it wasn't as impactful/no restricted card like sakuretsu against the reaper drawn by pot. If both players played dustshoot and you go second it was kinda limiting..especially when you get delinquented. I was ranked 4th in MA at during metamorphosis/goat formats. Good time. Friends got me back in and I tried trunade with preme, swords, and call (Sangan), I don't use jinzo now. 2 sakuretsu's work for me, I now don't use torrential or jar. Don't fit my style anymore. Magic drain is cool. Also made a zombie deck, double turtle suicide into two reapers is fun.

thanks :) I'm just rambling now. sometimes we don't use delinquent, it's a dumb card. I don't have any rankings to rise anymore since I quit tournaments in 2010, so we do whatever these days. I like intending for my 1000 eyes being a 3rd nobleman (or exiled force), I use a giant rat as a 4th pyramid turtle attacking into monsters to deck thin for my 3 book of life's, my body as a shield at the right times against nobleman, tribe, traps, etc. and Deck Dev. cancelling a snatch, meta/1000 eyes, etc. making sure they're at least 1 for 1's. I think we're going to include CRV, but cyber dragon with meta beat everything.

Trouble I have plenty of SDP 1st but it’s not worth much and isn’t most rare. when I built this, DLG1 was $5 and LCYW 1st was $8 so I went with LCYW. Plus this one is secret while the others are supers so it made sense to go with that

Between katanas and eclipses, which are very well crafted, and all the official yugioh printed back sleeves having problems with back image peeling, it seems like the white sleeves are generally better quality.

The reason people don’t include Exarion Is because there was never an official TCG tournament is which Exarion was legal but Cybernetic Revolution was not. Just some Vendors happened to get the Tin early so some people were playing around with it early. There is also the confusion with Kris Perovic’s famous goat format list from 2005 SJC Boston where he played Exarion. The thing is Cybernetic Revolution was already out at that time he just wasn’t running it leading to the confusion from people looking back at it.
All of you modern yugioh players that play goat format have lost sight of what the game was back then. You're too obsessed with how modern yugioh plays, which blinds you to the power combos of 2005 because you see a list of disparate cards and think "ThErE's No CoNsiStEnCy". L2 tactics noobs. My deck absolutely shits on all of the current meta, past meta, and even some subsequent years metas. The fact that you can't see uses for some of the fusion monsters in your deck just goes to show you don't strategize. There are many situations where you'd use dark blade dragon knight over jinzo, as well as reaper. Double airknight is trash, exarion didn't exist, but nice magic drain tech.
Don't run the ulti pot, the secret charity, or the rp02 ring. go and get DB1 pot, a DLG1 charity, and a 1st pgd ring. Those three cards stand out as definitely not from the era and just make it look weird. Tsukuyomi passes because she only came in rare back in the day, and drain... Well, some day maybe. Keep it maxed out, but as authentic as possible. Also, you don't have to explain your deck... Everyone knows goats... We came for the cards... If you have to talk, share stories or maybe how you got some of the cards as long as they aren't dick shark stories like "I got this 2nd ultra goats from a bulk buy for 17 cents."

I prefer Turbo Pack ultra sangan over yours. RP01 Sangan is the same thing as the 4$ DLG1 sangan.
