- Whats up guys so today I have the magic YoYo V6 Locus up for unboxing and review. This is a responsive yoyo that is great for beginners. The bearing can be upgraded to large bearing for unresponsive play. This yoyo is also very good for 5a play in my opinion. In this video I do a full review and demonstration. It'd be cool if Magic Yo-Yo started selling this one as a package including the wider bearing, a longer axle and and a counter weight all together. That, coupled with Dylan's review, would sell like hot cakes. And besides, this could be that one yo-yo everyone will buy as their only one, starting as a responsive, upgrading to unresponsive and then eventually to 5A.

I agree, I like slimmer responsive yo-yos. I saw that on Amazon the other day, glad you're checking it out, it definitely had my interest.
Throws N' Brews yeah quite impressed but if you wanna add a bigger bearing just be super careful not to strip it or put a longer axel in.

I’ve been playing the Locus and it is in my top 3! For the price it can’t be beat. I own no $60 and above yoyos but if someone gave it to me and told me it cost $80 I would believe them.

I use this as my main yo-yo and it is awesome, I also put a c type unresponsive bearing in it and I use it as my 1a yoyo

I bought one of these about a year or so ago... It is a beast for me! It is my first "actual" yoyo and I have been able to learn a lot of tricks on it. Bulletproof too, I may or may not have dropped it onto a large concrete surface (oops). It has held up great
Tucker Anderson I really want to buy a yo-yo, would you recommend this to someone who has never really yo-yoed before?
Tucker Anderson and did you have any trouble with getting it to “sleep” or whatever it’s called? I saw that some people couldn’t get it to stay down for more than a few seconds.
@@loganheilman5481 yes I would recommend it, it is an easy yoyo to learn on and a simple but efficient yoyo to maintain, just get yourself some thin lube and pads pretty early on because you will need them. Also I did not have a problem with it sleeping, actually around 2-2.5 min of spin time on it . If you have trouble with it sleeping yotricks has a great video on that. Hope I helped!

Do you recommend lubing the yoyo from stock or am I substituting something for less-than-adequate throwing strength? I can't seem to get it to sleep or at least hold spin long enough for the more basic tricks (just started throwing this year), though I can't gauge if I'm actually throwing hard enough.

i was woundering what size the bearing is that goes inside this yoyo, i got one and it dont seem to sleep as long as yours does. i was thinking about just getting another bearing to put in it.

Better than the K7 for a beginner? My K7 has plenty dings and sctratches due to being both my first as well as my brother's first, and it still plays dead smooth with both the slim bearing and a size C

What kind of bigger bearing you put in it?like a center bearing?
Dylan - As someone who is working my way up to unresponsive play I think a big differences is that you do a lot more catching with responsive than with unresponsive. I really enjoy catching just as much as throwing. People will say that a yoyo is a "nice throw" but rarely address the nature of the catch.
The Magicyoyo V3 is currently my favorite throw and catch. I bought a K7, and while I really like it, after a day playing with it, my hand aches and almost feels bruised, unlike the V3. The same way my hands felt when I was learning drums and was playing for several hours a day. The K7 has a less rounded shape, which must be the reason for the pain. Not as comfortable to catch. Would you say that the Locus is easier on your hands then the K7? Or am I just a wuss? And yes, I realize I'm asking this of a guy who likes to get punched in the face for fun :) Thanks for any input.
I'm not familiar with all of the shape names yet, but from what I gather, I seem to prefer a more "organic" shape. I have a shark Honor on the way as my starter metal unresponsive and am planning on buying myself a One Drop Cabal for my birthday. Can't wait for that one.

Is there such a thing as out-of-the-box unresponsive Locus? Or is there something else?
Let me explain what i mean.
V6 is now my third yo-yo owned.
After quite some time I have to replace Duncan FH Zero with something.
Dunno what happend with it, but FH Zero just can't sleep. Spin dies very fast.
Anyway, now i have Locus and it somewhat responsive?
I mean, if i tug hard enough it sometimes returns.
But that wasn't the case with FH Zero.
So, any clues?

Dylan how's the m001 silencer good for 5a?
It works but since it's a bi-metal it has a "weighty" rim weight, which kinda doesn't make it a fast yoyo.
