he is a really nice guy and I was honored to feature his place. Please tell him about this video I have tried to email a couple times but got no reply. Hope he likes it!
I'm just happy to see people opening record stores up again, it was heartbreaking in the early 2000s to see all the major chains and "mom-and-pops" closing because of "free music"!
Love it!! Gotta check that place out next time I get to Nashville. Hey I meant to mention, I am truly impressed with your videography and overall production values. Bravo!
I was fortunate enough to have been to Tubbs twice. I bought some classic country and spoke to the legendary staple who had been there for hundreds of years 😆 He told me some great stories, and made everything fantastically memorable. I can not believe this landmark is no longer. 😔
Highly agree! I live in Memphis and made the pilgrimage to Nashville just for Vinyl Tap. Nothing beats the atmosphere and concept. Every year I go back for about a 3 hour visit to browse, buy and drink great beers.
Great review and I really enjoyed your production and professional kind of interview. I will be going through Nashville next week and know I had time to stop at one record store. Now I know where I am going. Check out Phonoluxe next time you are in Nashville. They have great stuff also.
there is another record store there Alisons Record shop. Jack White also has a record store and a pressing plant neat place the vinyl tap entrance sort of reminds you of a record cleaver idea
Awesome video! My wife and I are visiting Nashville this coming summer and I REALLY wanted to check this place out! Also, thanks for showing off my homeboys, Temple Of Void, for a couple of seconds. Excellent to see some Detroit metal in other places!
Be cautious of Nashville and particularly of East Nashville right now. My partner had an attempted SA in the CVS women's bathroom by a homeless guy. There were OD people all over the place both in E Nashville and on Broadway. There's people drunk off their ass on party busses and shit all times of the day. It's not the Nashville it was before the pandemic. Third Man is right by the homeless shelter. I'm no pussy, but Nashville was scary.
Live here in Knoxville, TN where there is a large vinyl community and have not heard of Vinyl Tap. Will have to make a trek over to Nashville to see them. Thanks for the recommendation.
Are you based in the Philadelphia area? If so, I’d like to find out about some good shops you’ve found. I found one shop in West Chester that hands out free beer while you shop. So obviously, the owner is cool as hell.
I am. I have tried reaching out to some shops locally and I just found out about that one in WC and will def visit that one. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching!
Great video. I run a record store inside a Juice Bar in Austin. It's called Exploded Records at Juiceland. Holler if you're ever in Austin and want to come check it out.
The best record stores existed around 20 years ago when most people weren't interested in records like a bunch of hipsters are today. There was a store in Northwest Ohio I used to go to that was run by an old guy. This was 15+ years ago. Most stuff $5 to $10. Common stuff that today is $10+ was under the shelves on the floor in milk crates for $1 or $2. I went there a lot for several years. I think only once was there ever another customer in there when I was there, and I was in there 2 to 3 hours each time. He did have wonky pricing though on some stuff. His old original jazz records were way over priced, even for today. But there was a lot of great records there. He died and everything got purchased by Ameba, at least that's what I was told.
First pressing of Jazz Albums has always been pricey. It's due to the fact that the pressing runs especially in the 60s and 70s were a fraction compared to Rock and Soul....
@@danmartinez5502 This is know but his prices were pretty high and the condition of some was pretty bad. And forgive my terrible writing in my first post. So many "there's" 🤣
I think it’s great that vinyl is becoming more and more popular. I’am 70 and I haven’t bought a vinyl album for at least 30 years and I probably never will. Most new stuff I like I listen on Spotify
That’s awesome. Beer and vinyl. Loved it
How 'Portland' of you, Nashville.
I love vinyl tap so much! I’m very lucky to be good friends with Todd and he has created a perfect place for vinyl and beer to converge.
he is a really nice guy and I was honored to feature his place. Please tell him about this video I have tried to email a couple times but got no reply. Hope he likes it!
For a moment there I thought it was a new store from Vinyl Tap in Yorkshire, England!
great episode. I really emjoyed your interview style, letting todd do the talking. great work!
Great video! I really loved this and hope it be comes a regular series....maybe Places of Vinyl? 😀
I like that name! Thanks for watching!
Nice Work. Nice picks, Jackie Mittoo is an absolute legend of ska era
I'm just happy to see people opening record stores up again, it was heartbreaking in the early 2000s to see all the major chains and "mom-and-pops" closing because of "free music"!
I agree! Its great to see local stores thriving. I was genuinely happy to hear him say the vinyl store has been carrying the bar!
Definitely will check this place out.
Love it!! Gotta check that place out next time I get to Nashville. Hey I meant to mention, I am truly impressed with your videography and overall production values. Bravo!
I just found you today, mark my words. You are going places. I want you to remember me when you make it big! Your content is amazing. Love your taste!
Thanks for the comment! I will remember you!
Brilliant.

Thanks again for the comments. Means a lot! Yeah I was totally bummed when I saw they closed. Cool that you got to go.
What a great spot. I’ve been thinking about a coffee shop record store for a bit, but this takes the cake. Thanks
That's a good idea, too.
Awesomeness.

Excellent video, enjoyed it!

Definitely tell them you saw them from this video! I have been trying to get them to see it but I am not sure if they have or not!

Nice. I noticed I saw that album cover in there. Cool that you know them!

If you are ever down this way there is 5 or six record stores plus many great dives to go find records, just let me know and I will get you to them.
It's a great store, I go back every time I visit town. If you're ever in Nashville again, check out Phonolux. The used selection is astounding!!
Here in Washington state it gives me a slightly different spin on this idea. lol
You might be a genius. And if you open that store let me know and I will def come by and make a video!
Very nice! Believe me you didn’t miss much, not getting to visit Tubb’s before it closed.
You outdid yourself on this piece. Excellent work, yet again.
Great job hang in there.
The history of labels could become a great asset to explain to new vinyl fans.Just saying..
Will keep that in mind. Thx.
Really enjoyed this, thanks 👍
Great video, thank you for sharing. Would love to see a video or a whole documentary on Plaid Room Records.
I would love to do that! I have a video about plaid room and their awesomeness. But I would really love to go there.
That Jackie Mittoo is the shit! And saw Lee Fields a few years back and it was an epic show!!! Can't wait to road trip to Vinyl Tap!
Stay tuned for more reggae gems! In the mail as we speak!
Awesome!
ZZ Top is awesome.
Great place to shop I’m local to them and they have a good selection of vinyl Any special order they will try and get you.
Let me know next time you're in Nashville. We can grab a beer at Vinyl Tap. Todd is my favorite human.
Definitely! Hope to be back sometime this year!
I've brought stuff from these guys and I Live In New Zealand.
lol doesn't help the stereotype that record collectors are hipsters. looks nice.
The original Vinyl Tap is in England :)
Static Age in Asheville has been doing this for years
Asheville NC? Isn’t that also where Noble Records is from?
@@PiecesofVinyl He's over near Charlotte which is like 3 hours or so away. Harvest records is in Asheville.
I’m local. DM if you want to talk. I’ve been to most of the record stores in the area and I have a kickass analog system. Cheers!
Will do! Starting to reach out to places for the new year.

I will def come check that out if I’m in Austin!
Do they have hip-hop, though?! Peace.
They def. Did. But they also have beer!! 🍺

Stores that only have new stuff don't do it for me. I like to see more used stuff.
Don't spill your beer on the records!
Ha! After the interview I was like damn! I should have asked if people spill stuff on the records!
No. No way. Turned off immediately. I just want rows of bins and a good selection. I can live without a beer for an hour, sheesh.
who buys a record to listen then sell it, why not just stream it wow.
Portland did it first
Simspons did it. ruclips.net/video/iDuMp2kDxos/видео.html
For the love of god, please stop saying "THE" Vinyl Tap! Other than that, I really enjoyed this piece.
My ears are bleeding! He won't stop saying "THE"!!! Just look at the freaking shirt!
You are right! I at least have it right in text on screen. Give me that much!
Seriously though, it is a great place, and I'm really grateful to you for featuring them. Well deserved recognition.
Painful
