God has also challenged me to give up make up. I invested so much money into it, it’s hard to throw away but i haven’t been wearing any so far but this video encouraged me that it is what God wants. Love this! I rarely see Christian women with no makeup. Personally when I was addicted to wearing makeup I felt overwhelming anxiety whenever I went out in public without it. At the end of the day, I didn't love myself, even with makeup on I couldn't stare at myself in the mirror with peace. If I stared too long I ended up crying. It was a stronghold. But the anointing of God broke it off me in a church service after seeking Him for a couple weeks to deliver me from insecurities. I went home and looked in the mirror and it was like a blind fold or a veil was removed and I actually seen myself as beautiful for the first time of my life. I cried tears of joy. 4 years later I still don't wear makeup unless it's date night with my husband 😊 other than that every other public outing I don't wear makeup. I've learned to dress modestly as well and still feel confident and knowing my worth in Christ. I hope all the beautiful daughters of the Father experience the same deliverance. It's a beautiful thing ❤️
"But that takes time 😫" "So does makeup 😏" I used to wake up 2 hours early to cover up my face, even though I had to leave the house at 6am for work. It was exhausting. Not just getting so little sleep, but the mental strain it put on me to "look perfect" every day, and not have a hair out of place. If I'd spent those 2 hrs a day putting on the panoply of God instead, I'd be a much different person! For now, I've stopped wearing makeup and am praying that God will help me overcome all my insecurities, because I truly feel my ugliness each day and in a professional workplace where my colleagues are always perfectly dolled up, it's incredibly difficult not to feel odd. But God's makeup will get me through, and once I've applied it enough times it will grow stronger and become more visible. Perhaps someday a colleague may even ask, "how do you do it?" or "I want what you have!" I think not wearing makeup can often lead to conversations about Christ. Yes to 2Corinth5!!! 🙌 We live for the coming kingdom, not this one which is passing away. I need to keep my eye on Jesus who loves me just the way I am 😊 Man's opinion is constantly changing, but Christ's love remains steadfast. Fashion and makeup are vain things which detract from Christ and exalt the flesh. But Christ is the King, and we are here to serve not be served! I think not wearing makeup leads me to take a place of humility, a place where the world may overlook me, but where Christ rejoices because I have recognised that He is all I need 👑
I feel the same way and have been wrestling with it. I think deep down, many women want to be an idol in men's minds. And it's really hard for us not to compete for attention. Ever since the fall of Eve, we feel like we have to fight for attention and glory. But through Jesus, we are restored to the correct relationship to God and man.

It’s definitely a heart “issue” more than the putting on of actual makeup. The Bible says let your adornment be not merely the braiding of hair, the putting on of jewelry..” This acknowledges that we will/can adorn ourselves and that is OK. But we can’t let our self esteem depend on our adornments. It’s not sin to wear makeup and it’s ok to express ourselves with it. It’s the intent behind putting it on. We also have to be careful that we aren’t thinking we are holier and more pure if we don’t wear makeup. It’s just not the case
I was just talking to my roommate about that verse! It is definitely one to contemplate, for sure. I think we have to be very careful with what we assume; if we're too literal, we'll walk away thinking: (1) I can't braid my hair, (2) I can't wear gold, (3) I literally can't wear CLOTHES (it says the outward adorning should "not be ... putting on of apparel" 😳). We would also have to gather that this instruction is only for married women; for verse 1 of 1 Peter 3 says, "ye wives," and v. 5 reminds that the audience here is women with "husbands." 🤷🏾♀️ But on the flip side, we could assume that these are just general instructions, and not to be taken as specific; or that it was only for that culture and time, and not for us today. This also would be an incorrect view, I think. The verse doesn't mention makeup, but I would venture to say that based on the principle of the verse, makeup would have been mentioned if the verse were written in modern times. It might probably also mention shoes, cars, and Facebook/Instagram posts. I think the point of the verse is not to find our value in those things. E.g., we should not put our emphasis on what we wear on the outside, but on who God wants us to be on the inside (v. 4). I love that Damaris included that verse about cleaning the inside of the cup. Excellent insight! Jesus, of course, got it spot on.

Yes the Lord called me away from makeup well over a year ago(people started calling me religious) and it was pretty much forced upon me in 8th grade through my family. (My Mother grew me up to wear makeup and present yourself as if you have it all together and dont let others see your struggle)(might be a Hispanic thing as my grandmother was the same way) but the Lord revealed to me that it was a generational curse not being able to be seen without makeup and always having to be done up and look a certain way(I was a slave to it). Well Jesus has delivered me from the bondage of make up and relying it to find confidence (which is He has taught me to find directly through Him!) And because of this I will not be passing this generational curse to any of my 5 daughters as they dont really know what to do with makeup as I lead by example and as the Holy Spirit taught very directly to me 🥰🥰🥰
So you mean those who put on make up do not have those spiritual blessings? They aren’t able to put their eyes on JESUS or have other blessings you described? Tell me one thing, when you don’t put make up does it draw you more closer to GOD than you’re? Does it change your heart condition toward GOD just in seconds? It doesn’t. To have greater intimacy with JESUS we need to seek JESUS & have a changed heart which can only happen when we spend time with HIM to know HIM, reading & studying HIS Word, prying, worshipping. We know HIM better when we obey HIM. Our spiritual growth doesn’t depend on the external but internal condition of our heart. Make up or no make up both are beautiful as long as we use it to beautify our outward appearance & not to seduce anyone. Putting no make up doesn’t make anyone more spiritual or a better follower of JESUS. There is nothing wrong in using make up! I pray you will be able to understand what I’m trying to say. Please don’t misunderstand me. You can choose not to put make up but that’s not the Biblical standard for everyone . 1 Pet. 3:3,4 Do not let your adornment be MERELY outward-arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel- rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the [a]incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. It means do not let your adornment merely (only) be outward but inward first. We need to adorn our inner man first & that’s more important but it doesn’t say you should totally stop putting make up & that’s the standard for everyone. Putting on make up is a personal choice. I myself don’t like too much make up but i don’t think the HOLY SPIRIT is telling the entire body of CHRIST not to put any make up. I have seen some very anointed women putting on make up! Does it mean that they are not hearing from the HOLY SPIRIT? I don’t think so. Because their make up is not their main adornment , they are clothed with GOD’s Glory. That’s what matters the most. I just don’t agree with this concept.. certain things have become traditions of man in some parts of the world & not putting on make up or wearing no jewellery these are just a part of it. I have heard in some Pentecostal Churches young sisters are not allowed to serve just because they do wear Jewellery. That is so religious. Imagine someone isn’t allowed to serve GOD in a Church just because she has short hair or wearing jeans! Our Spirituality totally depends on the condition of our hearts not on outward appearance. Someone can put no make up on, modestly clothed but can be messed up spiritually! And someone can put on make up, dress differently & still be more mature spiritually than others Please ponder on these points. I’m not fighting against you but don’t agree with your views. I never really applied makeup. But in my previous relationship I started applying even though I didn't enjoy the process, just to impress my bf, just to make him stay. After breakup, I automatically stopped applying makeup. I realised I was just doing to be accepted by someone. Btw, I am not totally against makeup. And I know even you are not. But Its important to be aware of our deep motives behind it.
God recently reminded me gently that my lipstick 💄 is becoming my idol. I was like 🥺🥺 By God’s grace, after lots of battle, i am able to set few boundaries.

Amen to that!! Actually about 3 weeks after this, I threw away my makeup! It’s been a process, but one the Lord is undoubtedly blessing ❤️ and I feel he led me to 2 scriptures to help me with the decision! Ezekiel 16:14, and Song of Songs 4:7. God bless you!
We must also know that many people who use make up do also move mighty in the power of the Holy Spirit. We must have good understanding and mature thinking to avoid making blanket judgement..

So many people speak for God, but God has already spoken through his word "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes." And if you think that your value is in these things they arent. But let your glory be in Christ. I always do this test to see what my intentions are: if i'm not willing to give up something then it has become an idol to me. Coz tbe bible says put God first in everything.
I don't think anyone puts makeup purposely to seduce. When I was making videos about God's word with makeup on, I just didnt know. I don't think God would count it against me unless I know in my heart it is wrong. Then it becomes sin. Makeup misuse is a much lesser sin than all the main ones. We don't have to judge anybody for it. But I think it's still very important to know because of the terrible effects of insecurity, seduction and unwanted attraction.

And if you think makeup completely changes how you look to the point where people don’t recognise you’re not applying it correctly and also if you’re so affected by what society thinks of you, you should probably seek help it’s not about what society tells you, it’s about how you want to present yourself in a way that YOU feel beautiful no one else. I went through this exact thing with makeup too! It was a wrestling between God and my flesh until 2020. I stopped wearing make due to mask wearing and I am completely comfortable now without it.

I love this ! 8 years ago the Lord gave me the grace to completely give up makeup. But many people and youngsters sometimes advice me saying I will not be able to find my life partner if I don't dress up well and wear makeup. I try to reject these words, but most of the time, I feel alone in this struggle. I really admire your boldness and courage Vihan ! Keep up the awesome work ! Let's set good examples !

Few months back I learnt that God doesn't want a woman to adorn externally. The same happened with me as it was in your case but it was about wearing jewellery. I had thoughts like `what would all think of me, all women in my family wear jewellery, if i stop now they all would say that I got mad about God and I wont look beautiful and many more.,ʼ then God says`do you have jewellery when you are born?ʼ I said `noʼ and finally I learnt that i was not satisfied with God given beauty. I prayed to God and finally he helped me to get rid of my jewellery. Now I am so so so happy without jewellery. I feel very much better,joyful and secure than before. God loves us all of us and he wants best for us. In the Bible, Holy Spirit God clearly says that a woman must not adorn(1peter3:3,4 and 1timothy2:9,10).Taking off jewellery is not enough. Let these verses be fulfilled in our life's. (1peter3:3,4 and 1timothy2:9,10)

I'll put it this way! There was this lady I used to hang around until my boyfriend had a falling out with her. Though I wish things were handled differently, it was a blessing in disquise that ties got severed between me and her. Well, I gotten a full body wet suit when she mentioned going swimming in her new pool. It never got used. If I do not use it before I lose enough weight, going to sell it and get smaller size. For sake of modesty, I would think swim shirt and swim skorts or swim shorts, both fully going below butt cheeks. Nothing so tight that nipples shows for both genders and a certain area on guys not showing, cough cough, down under. Lust is not just a guy problem, females lust as well. Also, since guys are leaders, lead by not dressing immodest themselves, even shirtless for swimming.
I’m married with 3 sons I would never take my family to the beach because of the nakedness. Don’t mean to be rude but if it’s only “appropriate “ for the pool or beach but not for other public places then it doesn’t make sense to me. God put us here for each other so to say it only matters what I think is no longer showing love for others. It’s tempting for men to lust and for women to compare themselves or vice versa. So in the end who benefits?
Hmm the only make up I wear is lipstick. Because I got pigmented lips. Mostly by default.. I don't want to highlight those. So I wear a natural shade. Well I don't know if I ever saw that beyond that. I occasionally wear my homemade kajal for my eyes health. Which obviously smudges much and makes me a Koala 🐨..

This is a testimony of my life I was watching a video of pastor benny hin and in which he told that how holy spirit asked him to sacrifice things that God don't want in his life.he told that he is ready to sacrifice everything but not michele(she was his love on that time ) . But holy spirit ask him to sacrifice her also.but pastor benny feeling struggle to do this he starts denying it but holyspirit continues to say him sacrifice her also. And at one point pastor benny get agree with that . After watching that video I pray to lord I said Jesus I am also ready to sacrifice myself ( because deepinside I knew that I have nothing special in my life that is close to me😉😉) so I thought that this is going to be easy. And then suddenly holy spirit asked me to sacrifice makeup I was like "what? Makeup ?NO NO not at all" and I start saying myself that this is my own thought nothing else. But again holy spirit ask me to that . And again I starts denying that thought and while this I starts sweating I got anxious .( because I am the type of person who always wear makeup to attract people and to overcome my insecurities related to my looks if i got any of the video related to do not wear makeup i always use to ignore it , even i ignore this video lots of time😂😂 because i dont want to leave makeup🙂)And after sometime I said okay lord if you want me to do this am gona do it . And suddenly I felt peace in my heart . Then I took a sticky note and wrote on it NO MAKE UP and paste it on my almirah from that day where ever I go collage , market, or anywhere I don't wear makeup and I don't feel any insecurity. I gave all the praise to the lord Jesus ❤❤

I appreciate that you clarify it's not a sin. Personally, I like to wear makeup because it's fun and a form of art. It's not for the attention of others. Most women who wear makeup probably feel the same way, but it is still easy to feel insecure without makeup.
Even if I am only 15 years old I always felt like makeup was not for me. I really promised myself to not put makeup on a daily basis because people are called ugly and believe they are when they have no makeup on. They placed their beauty and confidence on how they could make their face become more « beautiful ». I don’t want to subscribe to that. And I also felt like it was an insult to God. I didn’t want to feel ugly for not putting things on my face.(I do the same with filters) This video strengthened my decision to not put up makeup. Love this! I rarely see Christian women with no makeup. Personally when I was addicted to wearing makeup I felt overwhelming anxiety whenever I went out in public without it. At the end of the day, I didn't love myself, even with makeup on I couldn't stare at myself in the mirror with peace. If I stared too long I ended up crying. It was a stronghold. But the anointing of God broke it off me in a church service after seeking Him for a couple weeks to deliver me from insecurities. I went home and looked in the mirror and it was like a blind fold or a veil was removed and I actually seen myself as beautiful for the first time of my life. I cried tears of joy. 4 years later I still don't wear makeup unless it's date night with my husband 😊 other than that every other public outing I don't wear makeup. I've learned to dress modestly as well and still feel confident and knowing my worth in Christ. I hope all the beautiful daughters of the Father experience the same deliverance. It's a beautiful thing ❤️

I used to wake up 2 hours early to cover up my face, even though I had to leave the house at 6am for work. It was exhausting. Not just getting so little sleep, but the mental strain it put on me to "look perfect" every day, and not have a hair out of place.
If I'd spent those 2 hrs a day putting on the panoply of God instead, I'd be a much different person! For now, I've stopped wearing makeup and am praying that God will help me overcome all my insecurities, because I truly feel my ugliness each day and in a professional workplace where my colleagues are always perfectly dolled up, it's incredibly difficult not to feel odd.
But God's makeup will get me through, and once I've applied it enough times it will grow stronger and become more visible. Perhaps someday a colleague may even ask, "how do you do it?" or "I want what you have!" I think not wearing makeup can often lead to conversations about Christ.

Man's opinion is constantly changing, but Christ's love remains steadfast. Fashion and makeup are vain things which detract from Christ and exalt the flesh. But Christ is the King, and we are here to serve not be served! Ever since the fall of Eve, we feel like we have to fight for attention and glory. But through Jesus, we are restored to the correct relationship to God and man.

It’s definitely a heart “issue” more than the putting on of actual makeup. The Bible says let your adornment be not merely the braiding of hair, the putting on of jewelry..” This acknowledges that we will/can adorn ourselves and that is OK. But we can’t let our self esteem depend on our adornments. It’s not sin to wear makeup and it’s ok to express ourselves with it. It’s the intent behind putting it on. We also have to be careful that we aren’t thinking we are holier and more pure if we don’t wear makeup. It’s just not the case
That scripture states to NOT adorn our bodies with elaborate braided hair and jewelry. So we actually shouldn't be wearing make up.
I was just talking to my roommate about that verse! It is definitely one to contemplate, for sure. I think we have to be very careful with what we assume; if we're too literal, we'll walk away thinking: (1) I can't braid my hair, (2) I can't wear gold, (3) I literally can't wear CLOTHES (it says the outward adorning should "not be ... putting on of apparel" 😳). We would also have to gather that this instruction is only for married women; for verse 1 of 1 Peter 3 says, "ye wives," and v. 5 reminds that the audience here is women with "husbands." 🤷🏾♀️
But on the flip side, we could assume that these are just general instructions, and not to be taken as specific; or that it was only for that culture and time, and not for us today. This also would be an incorrect view, I think.
The verse doesn't mention makeup, but I would venture to say that based on the principle of the verse, makeup would have been mentioned if the verse were written in modern times. It might probably also mention shoes, cars, and Facebook/Instagram posts. I think the point of the verse is not to find our value in those things. E.g., we should not put our emphasis on what we wear on the outside, but on who God wants us to be on the inside (v. 4).

Till i was 17 I've never gained interest in makeup and stuff, but while growing through teenage phase and seeing other teens wearing makeup it really provoked me, so one day i bought some cosmetics and tried doing a simple makeup....it was so uncomfortable nd weird so i got to know that it was not my thing. so i prayed to god about it nd god really helped me.

Yes the Lord called me away from makeup well over a year ago(people started calling me religious) and it was pretty much forced upon me in 8th grade through my family. (My Mother grew me up to wear makeup and present yourself as if you have it all together and dont let others see your struggle)(might be a Hispanic thing as my grandmother was the same way) but the Lord revealed to me that it was a generational curse not being able to be seen without makeup and always having to be done up and look a certain way(I was a slave to it). Well Jesus has delivered me from the bondage of make up and relying it to find confidence (which is He has taught me to find directly through Him!) And because of this I will not be passing this generational curse to any of my 5 daughters as they dont really know what to do with makeup as I lead by example and as the Holy Spirit taught very directly to me 🥰🥰🥰

Tell me one thing, when you don’t put make up does it draw you more closer to GOD than you’re? Does it change your heart condition toward GOD just in seconds? It doesn’t. To have greater intimacy with JESUS we need to seek JESUS & have a changed heart which can only happen when we spend time with HIM to know HIM, reading & studying HIS Word, prying, worshipping. We know HIM better when we obey HIM.
Our spiritual growth doesn’t depend on the external but internal condition of our heart. Make up or no make up both are beautiful as long as we use it to beautify our outward appearance & not to seduce anyone.
Putting no make up doesn’t make anyone more spiritual or a better follower of JESUS.
There is nothing wrong in using make up! I pray you will be able to understand what I’m trying to say.

It means do not let your adornment merely (only) be outward but inward first. We need to adorn our inner man first & that’s more important but it doesn’t say you should totally stop putting make up & that’s the standard for everyone.
Putting on make up is a personal choice. I myself don’t like too much make up but i don’t think the HOLY SPIRIT is telling the entire body of CHRIST not to put any make up. I have seen some very anointed women putting on make up! Does it mean that they are not hearing from the HOLY SPIRIT? I don’t think so. Because their make up is not their main adornment , they are clothed with GOD’s Glory. That’s what matters the most.
I just don’t agree with this concept.. certain things have become traditions of man in some parts of the world & not putting on make up or wearing no jewellery these are just a part of it.
I have heard in some Pentecostal Churches young sisters are not allowed to serve just because they do wear Jewellery. That is so religious. Imagine someone isn’t allowed to serve GOD in a Church just because she has short hair or wearing jeans! Our Spirituality totally depends on the condition of our hearts not on outward appearance.
Someone can put no make up on, modestly clothed but can be messed up spiritually! And someone can put on make up, dress differently & still be more mature spiritually than others

I never really applied makeup. But in my previous relationship I started applying even though I didn't enjoy the process, just to impress my bf, just to make him stay. After breakup, I automatically stopped applying makeup. I realised I was just doing to be accepted by someone.

We are not judging anyone. If something isnt revealed to someone then no matter how much we try to explain it is right or wrong they wont understand, because God gives revelation. So many people speak for God, but God has already spoken through his word "Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes." And if you think that your value is in these things they arent. But let your glory be in Christ. I always do this test to see what my intentions are: if i'm not willing to give up something then it has become an idol to me. Coz tbe bible says put God first in everything.
I don't think anyone puts makeup purposely to seduce. When I was making videos about God's word with makeup on, I just didnt know. I don't think God would count it against me unless I know in my heart it is wrong. Then it becomes sin. Makeup misuse is a much lesser sin than all the main ones. We don't have to judge anybody for it. But I think it's still very important to know because of the terrible effects of insecurity, seduction and unwanted attraction.
Me! I stopped wearing make-up for about 8 months and my family was so mad! They were so rude but it helped me. I was vain!

I went through this exact thing with makeup too! It was a wrestling between God and my flesh until 2020. I stopped wearing make due to mask wearing and I am completely comfortable now without it.

I love this ! 8 years ago the Lord gave me the grace to completely give up makeup. But many people and youngsters sometimes advice me saying I will not be able to find my life partner if I don't dress up well and wear makeup. Her question is how could you say that wearing makeup is a bad thing, iam not addicted to that I know my limits then what's the problem? But actual problem was the time she is taking to get ready when they are going outside including church itself taking atleast one hour to get ready. Few months back I learnt that God doesn't want a woman to adorn externally. The same happened with me as it was in your case but it was about wearing jewellery. I had thoughts like `what would all think of me, all women in my family wear jewellery, if i stop now they all would say that I got mad about God and I wont look beautiful and many more.,ʼ then God says`do you have jewellery when you are born?ʼ I said `noʼ and finally I learnt that i was not satisfied with God given beauty. I prayed to God and finally he helped me to get rid of my jewellery. Now I am so so so happy without jewellery. I feel very much better,joyful and secure than before. God loves us all of us and he wants best for us. In the Bible, Holy Spirit God clearly says that a woman must not adorn(1peter3:3,4 and 1timothy2:9,10).Taking off jewellery is not enough. Let these verses be fulfilled in our life's. (1peter3:3,4 and 1timothy2:9,10)

There was this lady I used to hang around until my boyfriend had a falling out with her. Though I wish things were handled differently, it was a blessing in disquise that ties got severed between me and her. Well, I gotten a full body wet suit when she mentioned going swimming in her new pool. It never got used. If I do not use it before I lose enough weight, going to sell it and get smaller size. For sake of modesty, I would think swim shirt and swim skorts or swim shorts, both fully going below butt cheeks. Nothing so tight that nipples shows for both genders and a certain area on guys not showing, cough cough, down under. Lust is not just a guy problem, females lust as well. Also, since guys are leaders, lead by not dressing immodest themselves, even shirtless for swimming.

Don’t mean to be rude but if it’s only “appropriate “ for the pool or beach but not for other public places then it doesn’t make sense to me. God put us here for each other so to say it only matters what I think is no longer showing love for others. It’s tempting for men to lust and for women to compare themselves or vice versa. So in the end who benefits?

Hmm the only make up I wear is lipstick. Because I got pigmented lips. Mostly by default.. I don't want to highlight those. So I wear a natural shade. Well I don't know if I ever saw that beyond that. I occasionally wear my homemade kajal for my eyes health. Which obviously smudges much and makes me a Koala 🐨..

This is a testimony of my life
I was watching a video of pastor benny hin and in which he told that how holy spirit asked him to sacrifice things that God don't want in his life.he told that he is ready to sacrifice everything but not michele(she was his love on that time ) . But holy spirit ask him to sacrifice her also.but pastor benny feeling struggle to do this he starts denying it but holyspirit continues to say him sacrifice her also. And at one point pastor benny get agree with that . After watching that video I pray to lord I said Jesus I am also ready to sacrifice myself ( because deepinside I knew that I have nothing special in my life that is close to me😉😉) so I thought that this is going to be easy. And then suddenly holy spirit asked me to sacrifice makeup I was like "what? Makeup ?NO NO not at all" and I start saying myself that this is my own thought nothing else. But again holy spirit ask me to that . And again I starts denying that thought and while this I starts sweating I got anxious .( because I am the type of person who always wear makeup to attract people and to overcome my insecurities related to my looks if i got any of the video related to do not wear makeup i always use to ignore it , even i ignore this video lots of time😂😂 because i dont want to leave makeup🙂)And after sometime I said okay lord if you want me to do this am gona do it . And suddenly I felt peace in my heart . Then I took a sticky note and wrote on it NO MAKE UP and paste it on my almirah from that day where ever I go collage , market, or anywhere I don't wear makeup and I don't feel any insecurity. I gave all the praise to the lord Jesus ❤❤

I appreciate that you clarify it's not a sin. Personally, I like to wear makeup because it's fun and a form of art. It's not for the attention of others. Most women who wear makeup probably feel the same way, but it is still easy to feel insecure without makeup.
Even if I am only 15 years old I always felt like makeup was not for me. I really promised myself to not put makeup on a daily basis because people are called ugly and believe they are when they have no makeup on. They placed their beauty and confidence on how they could make their face become more « beautiful ». I don’t want to subscribe to that. And I also felt like it was an insult to God. I didn’t want to feel ugly for not putting things on my face.(I do the same with filters) This video strengthened my decision to not put up makeup.
