Hello , I am a welder as well as a mechanic. I’ve been watching your videos. I love the way that you’re showing people how to do it yourself /at home at a better price margin. I have been wanting to build a nitro trophy truck and as you say all the time it’s about money and time! Keep doing it, my brother!
Idk bud that We Rock rc just had tube chassis event only! Harley designs went and built one! Think that’s who was out Colorado tho! But great work my friend as always ❤
Quick tip for those steel rods. Brake line bender tool. Made some custom links using that, brake line bender works great. Can repeat your angle and hand held one's are cheap.
Might have spent a bit to much ordering parts the past week now partially thanks to you🙃 Would love a in depth video doing all the electronics and custom lights
After you're done making your buggy because it almost looks like a stadium truck maybe you should build your own UDR off-road race I think that would be kind of cool to see done
Im loving watching your videos. You have inspired me to het back into the R/C world. So much has changed from 30 years ago. You also gave me a reason to dig the ole harbor freight welder out of the corner and prove to myself that i still cant weld. 😂 Grinder and paint makes the welder i aint. I gotta ask i keep seeing the black f250. Where did you find that body? It would be awesome to make my yruck in miniature. Thanks man!! Keep the awesome vids coming!
Another great video and you keep it interesting enough to stay till the very end, which I'm sure is a tough job in itself. I also want to thank you and your wife for the cubic dollars you invest to continue to bring new content and new projects almost rapid fire. It will be interesting to see the turning radius this buggy delivers. I have told countless people about you and your channel when they ask me about the trailer I built and I tell them my specs but your inspiration. Thank you Chris
I noticed the pinion on the rear axle is pivoting up and down quite a bit as the suspension cycles. With longer upper links (same length as the lower) the pinion input on the axle would stay level as long as the spacing was the same from the axle to the chassis between upper and lower links. Just thinking out loud.
Iv been in this hobby a long time! mechanic for 27 years I think we just have a code that we know who mechanics are and can sense it lol ! Im really enjoying your videos ! I do the same stuff I have a few vids on RUclips build a lot of custom 1/14 semi trucks. And 1/10 crawlers but I just don’t have the social skills to do what you are doing and put it on RUclips and actually talk about it and do it in person! so I appreciate you man! Keep it up your builds are awesome and I really like that your not unboxing the newest rc from horizon hobby that owns everything!
Your comment has really stuck out to me for the last few days. I honestly don't have good social skills. I can't even film in front of my wife. The way I got more comfortable with talking to the camera is by just imagining I am talking/teaching a close friend. To me, everyone on here is now my friend so it has gotten even easier, and I am being more of myself than when I first started. This community is full of great people who will give you the confidence to keep making videos. I do love those 1/14 scale trucks, and if you are doing custom ones, I know I will watch those!! Best of luck on the builds and your channel if you continue to post. Send me a link if you want so I can check it out. I got some plans coming up involving the big rigs but a bit different. So some inspiration would be welcome!
For some reason I replied back twice and it didn’t post I don’t think? But if you click on my username it should take you my vids I don’t have much on there. planning on posting more soon because Iv built a lot of really cool stuff lately
I love this idea! I’ve been building kits for years and I used to like the idea of a two speed trans and I’ve learned through time it isn’t necessary with most sensored motors. If I may make a suggestion the fusion pro is an excellent motor/esc combo. Can’t wait to see how this turns out!
New to your channel and RC. What are “portals”, and what size rod are you using on this build? I’m a retired certified welder, have a home machine shop (mini lathes, milling machines etc), and find this video very interesting! Subbed!
Thank you very much. Portals are basically a gear box on the end of the axle that moves the center of the wheel down lower than the center of the axle to give more ground clearance and in some a bit more gear reduction. The rod that I am using on this one is 3/16. I like that size because it is close to scale and still easy enough to bend with minimal tools.
Very cool, but you can afford I just for my bday/fathersday I bought the axial base camp k10 black. Was $100 off so was $379 OTD at my LHS. I know you like to build not judgment here. If you add all your rigs up you have thousands, I have thousands we have thousands 😂. So again I’m not judging you and your making videos so yes each one you make yeah it’s hard to afford. One other i have the castle castle copperhead esc and the slate sensored 2850kv in my yeti 380 and in crawls great one speed and not that great transmission low gearing great unit. My boy put this on his trx4 but used the 3800kv sensored slate. I programmed his throttle curve and one other item and yes it crawled amazingly with a 9t pinion. And on second gear it was absolutely blistering fast like psychotic fast 😂. So just fyi that system brings in about what you paid for your spektrum. Not a brand brat just sharing you can have it all. Beautiful build excited for you piece!
She is going to be a sick bouncer. I am sure i will love it after ya send it up to me. I mean You don't want the Mrs to hear about that huge raging Fire. Right? 🤨 Thanks for showing. 🫡
In regards to knock-off brands, ever have problems with any of them? Stripped gears, broken shafts, poor machine work, etc.? Or just use the machine and not beat the piss out of it and you're fine?
I have had a few issues for sure and I am very hard on them. I have had to finess a few gear meshing issues with a few axles, but that is why I take them all apart before I run them. But I haven't had as many issues as a lot of people think with the knock off stuff. I have a set of axles in one for over a year now and have never broken anything in them, and I'm not easy on them.
@@WafflesRC-pb4nt Noted. Thanks man. Been into r/c for decades, but never really looked into making one. With the items available today, its not difficult. I mean, $80 for a brushless/esc combo? $35 for a solid servo? $80 for a seven channel radio? It can be really easy to do if you're already "in" it. To boot, I've got the TIG and shop space for it. Thanks again.
@notsure9033 oh now I'm jealous because I think a tig would be perfect for these. I'll get one one of these days and then the cages I make will be soooo much better!!!
I've had my eye on that one, trust me. I use a harbor freight mig right now and I love that thing. I can build my RCs with it and build bumpers for my big trucks. I bet that tig is just as good.
Metal Art! 😄🍻
It looks awesome and its gonna be mega tough 💯🤸♂️🙌
I love this vid❤❤😂😊

Hell yeah keep it up buddy
Go fast, break stuff quick......nice build so far!
Very excited about this build! I can confirm all the SCX6 prices, they are nuts.
The bed rollbars remind me of a Tie Fighter wing! 🤘
Hahaha I thought that as well!!!
Idk bud that We Rock rc just had tube chassis event only! Harley designs went and built one! Think that’s who was out Colorado tho! But great work my friend as always ❤
cant wait till you make a basher truck
A buggy 🤔 that's cool 😎
I’m new to the channel but you have cool content and your a great hobbyist…Thanks for keeping me inspired🙏
11:46 safety first. Thanks for putting fun into the build. Comps are overrated imho.
Love the new buggy. Looking forward to the next video.
You are a Fabricator par none, thanks for giving me my "Fix" in watching a master at work.
Use the injora driveshafts they work great
I wish you could see my shop, there is new tube there for a buggy build. I will take longer to make it though. Cheers thanks for the vid.
Hey, it doesn't matter how long it takes. I know it will be awesome when its done cause you made it!!
Can you build a trophy truck ??👍👍👍👍
Quick tip for those steel rods. Brake line bender tool. Made some custom links using that, brake line bender works great. Can repeat your angle and hand held one's are cheap.
I have tried with the one I have and it does work well, but for cage building, I wanted tighter bends.
Might have spent a bit to much ordering parts the past week now partially thanks to you🙃

That's sweet
Hello my friend glad to see another one. Loved the Mercedes 👍💪
Thanks man!!! Not going to lie, I'm starting to like that one the most... looks wise
Can not wait for the front half the back looks awesome! hey I'm a "big" tire guy I have 5.25's on my rancho, Mo tire mo better. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!! That moto was definitely in my head when planning this build!
Love what your doing! I watch you all the time when I work on my own stuff. I don't really fabricate stuff but I do alot of modifications.
Thank you very much. Modifying my first is what really got me into all this.
First and yes’s 🎉🎉 I’m so happy that you listened to your comments, maybe next you do a king of the hammers truck🤔
Lol! Don't tell me I am now racing you and Iceman to be the first view. 😂😂
Very cool build
After you're done making your buggy because it almost looks like a stadium truck maybe you should build your own UDR off-road race I think that would be kind of cool to see done
You should use a hobby wing SE 1800 KV for that buggy

Thats so awesome to hear!!! I know you still got it!!!... The black truck is a Cen Racing F250 body that I got clear and painted it.

I did notice that as well. Pinion angle during travel and links are still something I struggle with. I'll get it one of these days haha
@@WafflesRC-pb4ntI used to use CAD, cardboard Aided Design to play around with length and different pivot positions. Now i use a different CAD
@@WafflesRC-pb4nt also what are you doing up at 5:30 on a Saturday?
I found it a little cheaper and still pretty strong to use, rigid break line. Easy to bend and weld or braze!
triangulation is still needed in rc so you don't smash your cage
I would love to see you build a snatch tow truck

I like it a lottt ! Don’t they make a brushless system that you can crawl with?
They do. All of mine are brushless. That one I got knowing it wasn't a crawler motor because I wanted it to be very fast haha

I have honestly thought about doing that.
Not first, but I beat Iceman! Lol!!!😂

I cant weld anything without grabbing it immediately after followed by.. fuckin shit thats hot 😂
What gauge steel are you using for the skid plate?
I honestly dont know. It was some scrap i had left over from an axle truss I made for my old Jeep
Steel brake line bud, not rods. Way lighter.

hey! do you do builds for people
