For those who haven't played Sf3 (and you should), here is the reason why Shadow is an antagonist in this game: • After all the events in Sf2, Shadow and May have a son, but May started getting weaker from a strange illness. From May's illness, Shadow discovered within the baby was an entity representing pure shadow energy, known as the Shadow Mind. May accidentally brought this entity from the Gate of Shadows in the ending of SF2 into the human world without even knowing, since then Shadow Mind has formed a special bond with her child. Shadow considered it to be evil and needed to be destroyed because May was getting weaker and weaker, so he immediately attacked. Shadow Mind then summoned the shadow beasts to protect May and the baby. Shadow slaughtered them all but accidentally, he killed his wife in process. • Blinded by grief and hatred, Shadow refused to accept the truth that he was the one killing the person he loved most with his own hands, instead blaming the Descendant and Shadow Mind. Shadow was then only able to separate the entity from the baby and seal it into the Sphere, he also hated his own child so much that if ever met him again, Shadow would kill him instantly. Then Shadow started his journey to eliminate every trace of shadow energy in this world, that was when he met that little girl in the video, Moira. She lost her hometown due to the attack of shadow beasts and she was saved by Shadow. Moira was also affected by a shadow disease called the Scourge that gave her the ability to control and communicate with shadow energy itself, but it also bonded her to an eternal suffering and she couldn't grow up. As for Shadow, he needed Moira to fulfill his plan to resurrect May after receiving an information from a Stranger that claimed to be a scientist from the future, the Stranger said that with the power of Shadow Mind, it could destroy the current world and create a new one, where May is still alive, and we all know what happened next: Shadow traveled to the future, literally eliminated everyone and built a machine to recreate the world from scratch. The player, who happened to be Shadow's child, has merged with the Shadow Mind to stop their father, but eventually Shadow still got what he wished for: The whole world gets eliminated in shadow energy, killing everyone in it, including the player. The only thing remains is Shadow Mind, he suffers because the Descendant is gone, but then that Stranger appeared again, guiding the Shadow Mind to travel back in time to increase the player's strength in order to to overcome Shadow from the beginning. And so we thought we have to fight Shadow one more time to prevent the world's destruction, but it's not that simple folks. Here is the real twist, brace yourselves: Spoiler alert: . • The true antagonist of this game is Shadow and May's unborn son, the original Shadow's Descendant. Thought to have died after being separated from the Shadow Mind, the Descendant was saved by his own mother's spirit, May's spirit. May did what any mother would do: She brought the baby to the Shadow World (the dimension on the other side of the Gates of Shadows) to save his life no matter how slim the chances were. In this dimension, the Descendant could exist, but only a small probability of his own existence (he doesn't have a real physical body or some sort like that). The player is just one of his billion copies due to his time travel, which means everytime he travels to a different world/timeline, the flow of time itself creates a clone. And each clone's victory is also his, all the clones makes the original one stronger day by day until the rule of time bow down to his will (this also explains why the player started the game without a memory at all, our character just sort of...appeared, THAT was when the original Descendant has performed a time jump and create us, we're just his clones). He is the mastermind behind the conflict between 3 factions in the game, he is that Stranger who purposely gave Shadow's information to destroy the world with shadow energy in the first place. He wants to exist, he wants to become a real being, a real person. And to achieve that, the Descendant's ultimate plan is to open the Gates of Shadows in every world/timeline in order to find his way home where he once grew up: the Shadow World. You should check out the community tab on my channel to know more about the original Shadow's Descendant's origin, his backstory is kinda a tragedy though... There's a high chance that we're going to witness the real ending of this game in 2022 (Idk the exact date lol) and meet the original Shadow's Descendant face to face, he's gonna be the real final boss of Shadow Fight 3 and I'm so hyped for it :) In conclusion: • Shadow is not a villain, he's just a broken man that lost his wife, blinded by sorrow and hatred. • As for the original Shadow's Descendant's POV, he's not technically a villain either. His father hates him just because he was born, because he is the son of a legend. Shadow rejects him. That's why the Descendant bears a huge grudge towards his father, dude just wants to exist... This man has defeated the demons he released, defeated titan ,making himself a legend with his face carved on a mountain , traveled ten years in time and brought the dynasty and heralds to its knees, but lost to his own blood, but still manages to destroy the universe. Shadow achieves everything he pursued against. That’s why chapter 7 was such a badass chapter

@@сысорма The difference is that Shadow's theme captures and portrays his rage and neglect towards Descendant/Shadow Mind, he cares about his goal for a new world with May in it. While Descendant's theme was more focused on "I want to live so get out of my way" type of vibe, the guy wanted to simply exist when time rejects him for existing, but then he wants to become "Titan's successor" and pretends to hate his own family for neglecting him (But deep down he doesn't hate them), That explains why he hugged May so tight as he corrodes to death. If anything, I think the music is suppose to really capture the story telling and entire motif of their characters...and it does great with it.

And the shadow energy was also contained in Titan's armor. My guess is that, in the original timeline, the shadow also carry Titan's mind, which later fused with the original descendant, turn him into evil. Maybe in other timeline this does not happen, as no timeline is the same.
His attacks are very graceful and are mixed of all three factions shadow ability of giant sword in legion shadow ability of staff in dynasty and the shadow ability of kusarigama in heralds
I wish there was an gear level limit in this game so you can't overpower bosses. Remember we fought titan and we had max level gear and he still overpowered us? It was a really hard fight and I wish the guy who killed fucking titan would be as overwhelming as him. That's why I fought him on crazy difficulty. He needs the respect he earned in sf2

My guess is that, in the original timeline, the shadow also carry Titan's mind, which later fused with the original descendant, turn him into evil. Maybe in other timeline this does not happen, as no timeline is the same.
