One thing that most reviews don't mention is how robust it is. I have my X-T2 now for 1.5 years and I took it with me for trips to Patagonia, Scotland, Switzerland and Antarctica where it got butchered several times and the camera is still going strong. It fell half a meter twice, saw a dust storm, got pretty much drenched and it still is alive and kicking.
Honestly, Fuji's not getting into full frame territory is just them being nice to the other guys. Imagine, a full frame X-T3 with IBIS and a range of 1.4/1.8 lenses. Game over.
Maybe if lens prices were competitive and image quality could compete on a technical level (vs contrast with pleasing colours) . So far as IBIS, I think that should be standard in midrange and up cameras
Honestly, cameras are about ecosystem. Fujifilm would not have a good full frame ecosystem that could compete with the flooded full frame market. It also would not provide the consumer with the competitive APSC prices. Fujifilm is a relatively small company, so focusing on fewer things intensely makes more sense that spreading themselves thin by going into a packed full frame market.
:) it will takes at least 5 more years for Fuji to come up with a Full Frame worth to buy (lenses and body). I assume Canon will not be in a coma all this time.
Fujifilm cameras make you fall in love with photography all over again. I was shooting full frame dslr until about a month ago when I decided to sell it along with my lenses (70-200, 50 1.4, 24-70 etc) and try the X-H1 as I was starting to lose interest in photography. Having used it for three weeks I can say that it was a great decision and one of the best I’ve made. They say Fujifilm is for artists, now I see why.
Best camera for anyone who wants to get into photography. The user experience and the picture quality that this camera offers is wonderful. Been using it for 3 years now, I love it.
ive had my xt2 since feb. i came from using nikon slr cameras many years ago and the nikon d3200 recently. ive been blown away with the image quality and usability of the camera. its a camera that i just want to hold and use all the time almost like its an extension of my body. for you being a canon shooter you should look into the fringer pro2 ef - xf adapter itll let you use nearly all of your canon glass
Couldn't agree with you more. Just came back home after shooting some photos and they always seem to come out 10x better than what I expect haha. I've never heard of the adapter I'll definitely look into that!
Totally agree. Still have my X-T2 with the amazing 18-55 lens and the 23mm f/2 WR prime. Pretty much all you need for a light kit with plenty of photo opportunities - both outside and inside.
Fuji is definitely a good choice for small profile travel and everyday camera. But it's not all perfect. There are some drawbacks to deal with. Keep that in mind. Responsiveness could be better. AF in back-lit situations could be problematic. Back controls are poor (small, recessed, poorly placed). Need extra batteries (which are expensive). From my personal experience with Fuji (as an addition to my full frame Nikons). Started with X-T2. Was excited about vintage look, small profile and dials. About six months later replaced it with X-H1, which I find better suited for my use: - much better controls on the back (AF-On, etc.) - IBIS (great for video with fast primes) - better video-centric functionality (that's what FF DSLRs don't do very well) - higher resolution viewfinder (better experience reviewing photos/videos) - touch screen LCD. So if you are looking into Fuji system see what better suits your needs X-T2, X-T3 or maybe X-H1.
Vitaliy Gyrya you name it...you’re into video. X-T2 has never been meant to be a video beast....full stop! Still’s camera. I do not have any issues with size, buttons or absence of IBIS. I could have bought H1, but it’s a V1. So no. I’m much more thinking about whether I should buy a second X-T2, a X-Pro2, X-100F or X-E3. No-name batteries are not expensive.
@@os6219 It looks like you will be happy with X-T2 and X-T3. I am happier with X-H1. I also bought 3rd party batteries. But my X-T2 burned the power board with one of those inside. The camera was only one month old and was not used heavily the moment it happened. So I am hesitant to use 3rd party batteries on Fuji cameras.
I just recently jumped on the Fuji train with an X-T10, and while it is now a relatively old camera, it's been such a joy to use. I can get some very nice images, even when I max it out at 6400 ISO. I have a 35mm f/2 with is and it's the only lens I feel I need. It's great to travel around with and keep on you. It's made a great companion to my 6DII kit. There's just something about Fuji's that makes them great fun to use.
@@HyunRalphJeong I was very curious about Fuji so I got it mine for quite cheap just to see what all the fuss was about. Despite myself being primarily a Canon shooter, this little X-T10 has sold Fuji to me. lol.
Hey, I think you should try any m43 camera. Fujifilm does produce some nice cameras but specifically for traveling m43 is a system to choose. I have owned both Fujifilm (x-e1, x-e2, x-t2) and lot of m43 cameras and m43 stayed as a main platform for traveling. IQ is very close to Fujifilm but there are LOT of excellent and cheap used m43 lenses out there. And the most importatnt advantage is an icredible IBIS which is really useful for traveling purposes. Cheers
Nice work! I like the pace of your vid and certainly how your photos look too. I just bought an X-T2 a couple of weeks ago and it has inspired to take so many more photos.
I really like the way you do youtube with very explicit way of expression. I just started to use Fujifilm 2 weeks ago and am totally in love with it with so many reasons. I'm still using Sony (a7riii & a6500) but seems that I'll use my X-T30 more frequently because of its portability, ease & fun of use. It's just an amazing gear!!!
I love my fuji xt2. Using the film simulations can really improve a photo when you want a certain look. If fuji could make it one stop better in high iso it would make it almost on par with the full frame cameras. I have not tried the xt3 yet but agree in low light face tracking does not like to work on the xt2. The single point does work good in low light though. I have been happy with mine the past couple of years. Really in no rush to upgrade.
I'm a Fuji guy. I have an H1, T2, T3 and X100F and 7 primes. I needed to say that to say this: There is an advantage to full frame and and a greater advantage to medium format, and I'm not talking about crazy pixel counts. The term, "normal lens" has nothing to do with field of view. We all know our eye has a wider FOV than a normal lens. 'Normal," refers to the way our eyes see depth of field or the separation of objects in foreground and background. A 52mm lens is normal regardless of the film or sensor size because it sees like our eyes see. When shooting with a 35mm on a crop sensor we have the same FOV as a 50mm which IS normal on FF but it's still a wide angle 35mm lens and NOT "normal." It's a little tight, but I like shooting with my Fuji 50mm f2 for that reason. I do mostly street these days and what some people call, boring, I call honest and familiar. Sure the spherical distortion is designed out by computers and lasers these days and the processor does magic, but it cannot correct spacial relationships to the same as our eyes see them. That no processor in-camera or post can do...yet. 52mm is 52mm is 52mm, that's it. Sorry micro 4/3 folks. For you to get a "normal" perspective you have to settle for the same FOV as a 100mm on a FF. It's just physics and for some reason the dirty little secret among camera makers. What's that, "medium format look?" Sharpness? No. You'd still feel it on an 8X10 print where there is no major sharpness difference to a good FF. It's the "normal" perspective but with the FOV of a 35mm FF or 23mm APS-C. What drops your jaw with an Ansel Adams landscape? Wonderful composition of course but there's more. A "normal" perspective but with the panoramic field of view of a 18mm FF. I use Fuji APS-C because of size, weight, build quality, super glass, athletics and those great film sims so I make the compromise but I'm honest about it and therefore know what that compromise is and how to work around it. I know what the strengths of APS-C are (and there is one when shooting portraits - hint: classic portrait working distance from the model but with "normal" perspective which is always more honest regardless of what some pros will say) and what its weaknesses are like trying to do B&W metro street stuff with the depth distortion of a wide angle 23mm where everything looks spread out and you loose that cramped downtown feel. I feel a bit like the meanie that just told a kid there's no Santa Claus, but hey kids, knowledge is power.
I love the XT2; it wasn't until I ordered it that I got to handle it for the first time. I've been using it mainly for nature, & landscapes. Most probably think that Sony is better, but the more I used the camera, the more I thought that the XT2 was equal, and in some ways better. The exact time of my purchase was about the same time as the newest update!
Fantastic shots, Ralph. That's the perfect size for us. We like how discreet it is. Like you said, we want people to forget that we're shooting and try not to intimidate. Dual card slots, nice! You're selling it very well. Haha
I am a Canon owner 10D to 1DX Mark II with lots of L Glass. Since last fall, I have also been using some Fuji gear and now have two X-T3 bodies and the f2.8 zooms for event photography. Love the system. The X-T30 is worth a look too.
Have the XT2 for 3 years now and I'll never sell it. XT3 is a great camera, don't get me wrong, but personally I don't need those upgrades, at least not for now. In fact, I might buy another one or the XH1 (same sensor and processor) for my heavy vintage telephoto lenses. Or the XE3. Damn, too many choices... Focus leaver is OK once you get used to it. Its in the same place focus leaver was on first AF film cameras back in mid 80's 😁 You can use back wheel for extended exposure time - it goes up to 8 minutes!
Hush. Hush. Hush. Nobody must mention the XT-2 and how amazing it is. We want everyone to say how TERRIBLE autofocus it has. And that the sensor is too small to get bokheh. And we want everyone to repeat again and again that lightroom will crack the raw-files with worms. And that it will have LOTS AND LOTS of ISO noise. We even want fuji xt-2 owners to think this - before running to buy the xt-3 and sell their xt-2 body for pennies. RUclips has worked hard for us for a few years now. Telling everyone that they must go FF. Must go Canon for colour. Must go Sony for autofocus. Must go Nikon for ruggedness and the D850 dynamic range. Must go m4/3 for portability. The last thing we need is that people now start to realize what an astonishing camera the xt-2 is. We want everyone to look away. So we can pick this instant classic up for 600 USD. If people have to go Fuji we want them to go after the new XT3 and xt-30. We struggle enough with people finding out that the same processor/sensor combination of the x-pro2 have caused near zero bodies on the used market - and the few that are there are retaining the cost way too well. We must do better to keep this camera secret. Because the xt-2 is a camera that will pick up a legacy and legend-status not seen since the Nikon FM2. The entire world must now look elsewhere. And I write this smilingly - and half serious. Because my master-plan as xe3-shooter (with the same processor and sensor) was to get myself an XT-2 during the summer holidays at a bargain (hoping everyone would upgrade it). And I now see the second half marked is about to blow up like crazy because everyone is starting to see the obvious. So I now think I have to order a factory new xt2 now - because at the moment I can get it for 800 USD here. It is turning into another xpro2. Unless we all go very very very quiet about how good this camera is. And how good the lenses are for it. Hush. ;-)
@@othomsen1 Marketing is pretty good at what they do. "Full frame" sounds a lot better than "partial frame" I guess". Much better than being "cropped" or "amputated" for sure. Fun fact is the story of Leica. That went bonanza with the "cropped" full-frame alternative of 35 mm. Every dynamic shooter had to shoot "cropped" 35 mm in that sexy small package. Everyone who ever shot film knows very well how the fantastic Ilford 1600 ASA (ISO) film would render ISO noise at 35 mm. Scattered with noise, even when we looked at the negative with no lupe. To the effect that "high ISO" noise itself became a "professional look" or "genuine look" before TTL and such things even were a thing. "full frame" has about as much meaning as the reason to why we call 35 mm focal length (FF -equivalent) "standard". There is nothing "standard" about 35 mm focal lenght. The only magic the 35 mm sized sensor has is that it overlaps the 35 mm focal length. Causing the Fuji 100F to have a 23 mm lens for the same field of view. It is much easier to understand that the "standard" image rendition is the same mm as the size of the sensor. (35 mm film require a 35 mm lens to be "normal"). Even though one has to move up to 50 mm or something in old "medium" or "large formats" to recreate the same "normal" as the 100F has at 23 mm focal length to be "normal". This is a massive marketing success. Remember when one look at cinema , their "normal lens" is around 40mm FF-equivalent. But Leica choose to make it simple. 35 mm film was "normal" at 35 mm focal length. (Tip - if one want the "cinematic look" do not just apply the fashion of orange-teal color grading - get a 40mm ff equivalent lens long before one ponder the ratio formats). FF 35 mm film originated as a crop "sensor" for the dynamical photographers who got some of the most iconic images of the 20th century, allowed by the light and nimble cropped format that 35 mm was. Long before it got so self-aware that it dared to call itself "full frame" even though it was always the tiniest little brother of both "medium" and "large" formats. micro4/3 is at least honest. Knowing that it too captures a "full frame". Marketing is a big thing. And one has to give it to 35mm growing into "full frame". There has been some remarkable good marketing going on since they choose to make 35mm the "normal" for the chemical sensor of the same number. (I love it)
Omg this is amazing Two cards? Wow! I love that you love this camera. So many great features and it is true that there are places where we can’t go with our huge camera and the tripod, and the gimbal and the so many other things Awesome review
X-T2 at it's current price point is one of the smartest photography purchases one could make. I think the best photography mirrorless bargains are a used X-T2 and a used Sony A7RII.
X-T20 is a few hundred dollars cheaper and if you don't care for some features that don't affect the image quality (better body, dual SD, etc.), it might be a better option, especially for amateurs.
@@patakk8145 That and the ability to add a vertical grip is the stuff I care about, not to mention bigger EVF. I didn't care for the X-T20 the moment I put it in my hands.
Audio sounds great. Can I ask which lav mic you’re using? Great breakdown, as well. I am coming from traveling with a 6D and prior to that, the 5D series bodies but I decided to try out an XT20 on a recent trip to London. I’m a total convert now.
I love mine the only other camera I would get is a pocket camera, if Fuji ever made a good one. I like the work flow a lot. It’s the only time I have been confident to shoot only jpeg. Also front button focusing is what I use. My middle finger is always right there anyway. Plus that dual evf mode to check focus. To me the X-T2 is the Nikon F3 of this generation. It really does everything well.
I've been shooting Nikons professionally for 40 years. A few years ago, when the XT-1 came out, I made the daring decision to travel to India with it and leave my Nikons at home. I say "daring" because India is a photographer's dream and I was afraid I wouldn't get the quality I have become accustomed to. I was seriously blown away at how awesome my Fuji preformed. I've since shifted platforms and am extremely happy I did. My lower back is grateful as well.
@@HyunRalphJeong You should do EVERYTHING within your power to get to India. As graphic artist, designer, and photographer, you'll be in absolute heaven. BTW, my wife graduated from Art Center...but years before you!
Fujifilm X-T2 is the best camera I've ever owned! I used to shoot Canon and Nikon and I don't miss FF at all. I use it for all my work and I love it! Love Fujifilm 😍😍
Nice i have always been a canon shooter ever since ive had interest in video or photography but seeing all all your photos here makes me want to swith haha. It really is nice for street photography because it is so small and really awesome for when you are travelling btw awesome shots Ralph.👍👍👍😊
I can see where this would be a great travel camera! Did you ever feel you needed more bokeh with the Fuji because of the m4/3's? Also did you use the dual card slots to shoot raw on one and jpeg on the other or just a straight copy of the other card?
Alex Salois Hi! I had it write duplicates of both raws and jpgs so I don’t lose neither if one fails. Fuji cameras actually have aps-c sensors which are slightly bigger than m3/4s but since I was shooting mostly around f4-8 to keep everything in focus, I didn’t really miss the bokeh :)
Hey Ralph! Great review. Was curious how much this normally retailed for. Looks like you got a great deal compared to what I am seeing it for online. Good point about using a smaller cam in Japan or Korea in tight crowded spaces. Tokyo and Seoul are definitely a different shooting environment. Would definitely consider getting my hands on this after your review 👍
Nice video. Glad you like Fujifilm. I have xt10, old but still good. Also have xh1 which has similar tech' to xt2. This I like a lot, especially with power grip. Bought this at beginning of year when heavily discounted. Couldn't believe the vale for money!
I bought the X-T2 after watching your video for an ok price with some glass instead of Canon M series for snapshots and street photography. I hope I didn't make a mistake in 2020. But I thought it would be a good entry into the Fuji system.
Very informative. You packed a lot of information into this video. Much appreciated. I recently bought a used Panasonic FZ1000 bridge camera which has only a 1" sensor and I'm surprised at the good quality of the images it produces. So it's interesting to hear positive comments about m43 cameras. My other cameras are Sony a6400 and a6500 which I think is a good tradeoff of camera size and sensor size.
I'm looking at getting my first mirrorless to step up from shooting with my smartphone. I shoot primarily on hikes and at car shows, plus the typical family stuff. Would you say that the X-T2 would be ok for those applications? It seems like it's a great camera and I can get one used at a pretty decent price it seems. The X-T3 would be nice, but it's almost twice as expensive.
on that camera I use the front button as my focus. I always hit it accidentally, and using that button as a focus eliminates accidentally changing a setting.
You can get a Fuji X-T2 as of August for close to $500 used if you do enough searching around. Just bought a used one myself for about $520. It's an absolute steal nowadays.
I buy two weeks ago used. I have a older Canon DSLR before. I am so happy with this camera. Only thing I miss is the flip screen from canon and I have to turn on the camera to se thought the view Finder.
Glad you had a good experience with Fuji! I've been on Fuji for a few years now and have owned many of the various bodies & lens. I currently shoot the XT3 and combo red badge zooms and primes. I will say that sometimes I am frustrated with the noise and worms. I hate a love/hate relationship with the retro styling. While it's quick to access controls, that same feature can be a "con" too (like when that dial moves by itself while taking out of the bag). I do love the build quality and I do not think I'll ever totally leave Fuji. That said, I recently purchased an A7iii and will be using both for sometime. (BTW, I think the XT30 is a better buy at the price point under $1000 or 6400 for that matter). Nice work!
Thank you! I’m loving the camera so far. I tried the XT-30 at a store but couldn’t get quite comfortable with the small body. But I agree for the price they are amazing.
As much as I love and adore my Fuji X-T2, I totally agree about the back focus button. If I could make 2 suggestions. Try making the ISO and Shutter controlled by from or back control dial, trust me it will super smooth for changing both on the fly. Also, as a sometimes Canon shooter, try out the Fringer Pro X to EF adapter if you want to still use any of your Canon glass on the Fuji. Again, super fast and smooth. Mind you, Fuji makes some great glass, 56mm 1.2 I'm looking at you!
Jaleel King It could be still just the honeymoon talking but I’m loving the fuji so far lol. And yeah with lenses like the 56 1.2, I’m questioning if I even need full frame anymore. I heard about the adapter and I might give it a try.
@@HyunRalphJeong I never got into FF v APS-C a good photo doesn't care nor does the audience who are attracted to it. However, I can understand why some might. Give that command dial setup a try and you'll never stop loving it. If you need any assistance with feel free to reach out. :)
This camera looks great for its price. You should check out the Panasonic Lumix G7 if you decide to review some more budget cameras. It’s great for its price too(500-700 usd depending on deals). Great video, by the way
Great video. I have a Fujifilm X-T1, a Fujifilm X-100F and a Fujifilm X-T2 and all I can say, is that I love my Fujifilm cameras! Please review a Fujifilm X-100F camera.
Thank you! That's quite a collection haha. I've been wanting to get an X100F. I heard a new one's coming this year too. I'll try to get my hands on one!
@@HyunRalphJeong I was able to buy a new X-T2 with a battery grip for $1100. I had planned to sell my X-T1 with a battery grip, but, when I learned it would only bring about $450, I decided to keep it, because it worth more than that to me. I bought the X-100F to carry on my bicycle.
I own a 5D Mark 4 and a whole stack of prime lenses just like you - but after 3 months of travelling non-stop the weight and size has just been a bit much for me. Very eager to jump into Fuji and would love to hear more of your thoughts!
Beautiful shots an very genuine opinion. Very appreciated and Chanel subscrubed ;) How about image quality out of cam and the Fuji film simulation? Are you doing a lot in post? Cheers!
GReat video, thank you. I've just bough a used X-T2 and couldn't be happier. I also have an X-T30, but the ergonomics of the X-T2 are superior, as is the EVF. If you don't mind, can you tell me how to set pre-focus please.
Simon Trezise yeah I tried the xt-30 at a store but felt too small for me. I didn’t know you could set pre-focus on the x-t2 i’ll let you know if I figure it out lol
I tryied one xt30 but it is much complex that Canon. I don't like how cannon removes a lot of features of their cameras, but they are much more easier to use.
I just bought this camera and I really love it but I've noticed some very strange skin tones with the JPGs straight out of the camera, pretty much whichever film simulation I'm using. Skin tones seem to look very white and waxy. I've turned the noise correction down, but do you have any thoughts on how to combat this?
Danny Hendrix Hi, I haven’t personally experimented much with the jpegs but take a look at this video by omar gonzalez: ruclips.net/video/8yHvaTmVJIc/видео.html
A "best camera" doesn't existe. A camera that suits you, yes. Many youtubers try to get millions of views with this claim : "The top 5 camera FF, or best in 2019, or best under $1000 etc..." : it's really taking people for idiots. The one good for you has very few chances to be the one best for me.
hello, use m4 / 3 and nikon dx ... when I started in digital photography I used a fuji bridge. Today I can buy an XT2 + 18 55 or a Nikon D7200 + Sigma 17 50 f2.8 ... could you tell me why Fuji could be better despite its low optical and high cost?
Cristian Fuentes To be honest, I think you can produce good results with pretty much any camera and lens combinations nowadays. It’s just the matter of which you prefer, the body design, your budget, and the lenses you need. So if you haven’t tried them before, I recommend going to a local store and trying them out.
If you want a small very stylish camera with a pancake lens you could also consider a Olympus E-M10 and a Panasonic 20mm f1.7. Very sharp and much much cheaper.
Dropping knowledge! Makes me want to consider getting a Fuji camera now. Amazing photos! Too bad we couldn’t meet up on Osaka! Next time we’re in the same town together! :)
Hi! Im a portrait photographer mainly. I have a canon 70d and i don’t know if i should buy a fuji xt2 (which is 600 used in perfect conditions) or a fuji xt3 at 1100. There is such a difference, i don’t know if it’s worth it or i should invest on lenses. What would you do?
Dante. Hi, if you mainly shoot portraits, you probably won’t see any difference. To me, the main differences were video specs and slightly better autofocus tracking. Hope this helps :)
First off, 용인랜드 is now abandoned? I used to go there all the time when I was a kid. Looks like you had a great trip (amazing photos 🔥🔥) and welcome back. The selection of available lenses is quite impressive. I have never heard of this mirror less camera but it looks like a competitive (or superior perhaps) product within the price range. I honestly don't really need touch screen but battery life and little lacking face tracking could be a bit of an issue for me but probably still way better than the bodies I am using currently. I love the retro looking body and intuitive placement of buttons and dials. Very.... Tempting 😂😂
Really? That’s really cool. It’s technically not “abandoned,” they closed it down temporarily for the redevelopment in the area but I guess they ran out of budget so had to stop the construction. Now they let people in for 10,000 won so they can hang out there and take pictures. Popular for Instagramers as you could imagine haha.
This was such a great review!!! I got into this same mindset before my trip to Japan as well. Ended up going with X-Pro2, but obviously got some very similar results :) Love the Classic chrome, Astia and Velvia simulations for Japans lit night scenes and picturesque shrines, mountains, country sides! Keep up the great work! Cant wait to see more videos :) We'll see if the Fuji styling, look and feel works its magic on you as well to get you into shooting film. That's phase 2 lol.
Xt2 all day. Not a fan of the Sony apsc’s. The glass is superior on Fuji system. Though am a big fan of the latest Sony full frame efforts. Big downside is they are expensive. Getting back to the Xt2 the only negative point is the poor battery life. Love mine and I’m keeping it.
a6400 has flip screen. if you need to take videos and VLOG this is more convenient. however if u only want to use camera taking photos and little video. xt2 is the best choice. fujifilm's apsc camera have more complete lens system, but Sonys used to focus to FF system lens system is not as good as fujis.
What should I get, xt2 or xt30 ? I will mainly use it for photography. I don't care about the weight or size though, but I like to have better image quality and better autofocus.
Omar Khalid Image quality and autofocus on those two cameras will be almost identical. Just try them at a local store and get one that fits your hands better :) I personally prefer the x-t2 because of the slightly bigger body.
Great camera for still photos. Bought secondhand This camera is made in Japan. The newer Xt3 and Xt4 are made in China. The XT2 is good enough for me. The money save a bought some Fujifilm glass. These lenses are fantastic and will hold their value
The lumix G7 def gives this camera a run for its money. But I’m thinking of getting this Camera next year as my photography camera and my G7 and my BMPCC as my video cams for my 2nd year in the camera world
Hey! I am in the market for a new camera. I am considering this Fuji and the Canon 80D. Video is really important for me. What do you think is a better option?
Hyun Ralph Jeong Thanks for your response! Mostly business related video’s where I sit in front of the camera talking about a specefic subject for a client. A lot of times those kind of videos are bad quility in my opinion. I put a lot of work in colour grading the video and make it look really good so clients have the feeling they are watching high quality content. For me it is important that the content doesn’t lose quality while being edit. One last question, do you think dslr’s are better then mirrorless camera’s?
@@scottsparreboom8175 I don't think DSLRs are better than mirrorless but I still prefer it sometimes. It's like driving a manual vs automatic :) If it were me, I would probably choose the 80D because it has a front facing screen, but if you're going to be using an external monitor and manual focus, I think Fuji will give you better quality.
Hyun Ralph Jeong Thank you for the advice! I think it is going to be the 80D. I really liked the quality of your video, what lens are using here and was it on your Canon?
I just received a cheap fuji-eos no contacts adapter, and I tried the 35mm f1.4 Vs the canon 35mm f1.4L wide open both on the XT2. I was surprised, the tiny Fuji is actually sharper... 🤪
X-T3 is the only fujifilm camera that has reached Yin and yang. Rest of Fuji: X100, X-T10/20/30, X-E1/2/3, GFX and so on are still in evolution zone. Buttons layout is changing from generation to generation, top dial's - you never know what will be changed... not with X-T3;) There is no need to buy old fuji X cameras, the price tag for X-T3 makes this camera the best buy.
Dude I don't know much about Fuji camera's but I am really interested in your thoughts for the XT30. This XT2 looks really good too especially for under $1000. I'm just not really sure what the difference between all these camera's and I am particularly interested in the video taking aspect of the cameras. Great review though man. Didn't know that Fuji only does APS-C frame lenses you schooling me hahahahaha.
Haha yeah XT30 is pretty cool. Good thing about fuji is that all of their cameras use the same sensor so you know you’ll get good images from any of them. Some of them have better autofocus and etc but most people won’t notice the difference. So you just need to find the body you like. The only thing that stops me from using them for video is that they dont have flipout screens like canons
Considering Fuji's the medium format cameras, it might be game over for the other guys ;).
Hoping not because I'm already heavily invested with their apsc lenses!
Chima Chinda “Fujifilm is for the artists” I totally agree with you there.
Sorry to tell you your going to fall in love with Fuji
XT-2 with the 18-55 just wipe the floor.
Nothing under 2K can touch this combo.
I have this combo and a G9 + 12-40 Olympus... Try the Panasonic + Zoom Olympus and you'll be surprised.
Ruud Peeters they are really amazing
Just so you know, Fujifilm also makes medium format. I’m a proud xt2 xpro2 and GFX 50s owner ;)
About six months later replaced it with X-H1, which I find better suited for my use:
- much better controls on the back (AF-On, etc.)
- IBIS (great for video with fast primes)
- better video-centric functionality (that's what FF DSLRs don't do very well)
- higher resolution viewfinder (better experience reviewing photos/videos)
- touch screen LCD.
@@TheVitalishe Try Patona or ExPro batteries, those are well- tested and well regarded. No issues whatsoever.
@@EnterSpacebar thank you! Will check them.
Couldn't agree more. It's like having all the new technology and capabilities in an old package.
@@HyunRalphJeong I was very curious about Fuji so I got it mine for quite cheap just to see what all the fuss was about. Despite myself being primarily a Canon shooter, this little X-T10 has sold Fuji to me. lol.
Wanako Plays! I have a 6D Mark II as well and I love it. But sometimes I would like to use something different and smaller :)
Wow the pictures looks absolutely amazing. Love how small it is perfect for vacation. Definitely worth the money
Thank you for the kind words! I still mainly use Canon but my Fuji gears have mostly replaced them for travel and casual shooting.
@@HyunRalphJeong totally agree as I'm doing the same. It's now my first priority for daily shooting & light travel circumstances.
There's no Santa Claus?

Damn. Are you sure?
Really great photos from your trip! Enjoyed watching them, especially with the music :) Great video!
Alli and Will Thank you!
FractalBuilder for aps-c alone, I think it’s definitely better than anything Sony makes
Welcome back! Beautiful shots and looks like you had a great time
Yes I did thank you! :)
Fantastic shots, Ralph. That's the perfect size for us. We like how discreet it is. Like you said, we want people to forget that we're shooting and try not to intimidate. Dual card slots, nice! You're selling it very well. Haha
how did i miss this? omg!!! great pictures ralph! loving the images from camera!!! sound like you have lots of fun during your trip!
The Hungry Black Panda I really did! Thank you!
I am a Canon owner 10D to 1DX Mark II with lots of L Glass. Since last fall, I have also been using some Fuji gear and now have two X-T3 bodies and the f2.8 zooms for event photography. Love the system.
The X-T30 is worth a look too.
Jim Hunt I’m totally hooked with fuji as well haha
As always, great, great content. It's very much appreciated.
Its in the same place focus leaver was on first AF film cameras back in mid 80's 😁
You can use back wheel for extended exposure time - it goes up to 8 minutes!
Hush. Hush.
Hush. ;-)
Haha oops... Nothing to see here people. Don't buy this camera
@@HyunRalphJeong That I the attitude we must have, buddy :D
...yeah, it’s a little strange have the FF sensor has got this exaggerated “king of quality” image. Almost as if there’s something magical about it.
"full frame" has about as much meaning as the reason to why we call 35 mm focal length (FF
-equivalent) "standard".
(I love it)
glacier activity 👍😊👍

X-T2 at it's current price point is one of the smartest photography purchases one could make. I think the best photography mirrorless bargains are a used X-T2 and a used Sony A7RII.
X-T20 is a few hundred dollars cheaper and if you don't care for some features that don't affect the image quality (better body, dual SD, etc.), it might be a better option, especially for amateurs.
@@patakk8145 That and the ability to add a vertical grip is the stuff I care about, not to mention bigger EVF. I didn't care for the X-T20 the moment I put it in my hands.

I got mine lightly used 3 days ago. Couldn't be happier!
Great, succinct and well articulated review
I've been shooting Nikons professionally for 40 years. A few years ago, when the XT-1 came out, I made the daring decision to travel to India with it and leave my Nikons at home. I say "daring" because India is a photographer's dream and I was afraid I wouldn't get the quality I have become accustomed to. I was seriously blown away at how awesome my Fuji preformed. I've since shifted platforms and am extremely happy I did. My lower back is grateful as well.
I would love to visit India one day. The Fuji really surprised me. I probably won't fully switch yet but I now know it's definitely possible.

I know it's more $$ but if you can swing it get the 16mm. Amazing lens. You won't regret it
Nice i have always been a canon shooter ever since ive had interest in video or photography but seeing all all your photos here makes me want to swith haha.
Fuji X series is APS-C based, which is 65% larger than a m43 sensor.
Daniel&Naz Thank you! I almost always buy used cameras from ebay :)
Really enjoyed this video hope you keep doing more fuji videos
Lawrence Huynh Appreciate the comment. Will do.
It's the best presentation of a camera, thank you, pro;-))
I don't see why it won't be okay. Pretty good value as well.
on that camera I use the front button as my focus. I always hit it accidentally, and using that button as a focus eliminates accidentally changing a setting.

Cristian Fuentes To be honest, I think you can produce good results with pretty much any camera and lens combinations nowadays. It’s just the matter of which you prefer, the body design, your budget, and the lenses you need. So if you haven’t tried them before, I recommend going to a local store and trying them out.
Great vlog ! Just ordered mine with adapter so I can use my Nikon lenses. All under $700.
Great content. Have x-t20 and considering x-t2
Sir Halpin Thank you!
What’s the difference
If you want a small very stylish camera with a pancake lens you could also consider a Olympus E-M10 and a Panasonic 20mm f1.7. Very sharp and much much cheaper.
And the fujinon 56mm...holy shit. I would put that lens up against anything on the market right now. It's pure magic.
I really like your photos!! It looks very good. Btw how many cameras do you have??
6 now lol
Dropping knowledge! Makes me want to consider getting a Fuji camera now. Amazing photos! Too bad we couldn’t meet up on Osaka! Next time we’re in the same town together! :)
Food Mystery Live Next time!
Love my XT2 🇨🇦
Hyun Ralph Jeong uggggh the autofocus is important to me, does the xt2 has eyetracking?
Hyun Ralph Jeong thanks btw ❤️❤️
Five Minute Sneaker TV wait, I just read your comment again, it’s 용마랜드, not 용인랜드 ㅎㅎ
@@HyunRalphJeong omg 😂😂😂😂 I was gonna say!!
Guys I'm still using my 3 years old xt2 and I'm quite happy with that, maybe at some stage I'll upgrade it to a xt4? But, I'm keeping my xt2 anyway!
Joseph Nicholson haha my brother shoots film but I’m too impatient for it.
What do you think - xt2 or sony a6400?
Abbas Lakda Hm, that’s a tough one but I’ll go with the xt2. Better body design and better lenses.
@@HyunRalphJeong may i ask how is the video aspect of xt2? Been thinking about a6400 or xt2 as well 🙂
Xt2 all day.
@@baubau9911063 may i ask how is the video aspect of xt2? Is it not good enough?
What should I get, xt2 or xt30 ? I will mainly use it for photography. I don't care about the weight or size though, but I like to have better image quality and better autofocus.
Omar Khalid Image quality and autofocus on those two cameras will be almost identical. Just try them at a local store and get one that fits your hands better :) I personally prefer the x-t2 because of the slightly bigger body.
Excellent review, real world comments...
Great camera for still photos. Bought secondhand This camera is made in Japan. The newer Xt3 and Xt4 are made in China. The XT2 is good enough for me. The money save a bought some Fujifilm glass. These lenses are fantastic and will hold their value
Hey what's up been watching your videos for a few years now. You ever tried the Fujifilm X-H1? I ordered used.
Not a bad camera for tha price point.. love the pictures!
Pogiboy Productions thank you!
Scott Sparreboom this will have better video quality but Canon will have better autofocus :) what kind of video do you shoot?
It's like driving a manual vs automatic :)
If it were me, I would probably choose the 80D because it has a front facing screen, but if you're going to be using an external monitor and manual focus, I think Fuji will give you better quality.
Hyun Ralph Jeong Thank you for the advice! I think it is going to be the 80D. I really liked the quality of your video, what lens are using here and was it on your Canon?
@@scottsparreboom8175 Thank you, I'm shooting with EOS R and Sigma 20mm 1.4
Great pictures too.
Man, that is a great camera. I hope to own one at some point.
Life Through Lens you won’t regret it
I just received a cheap fuji-eos no contacts adapter, and I tried the 35mm f1.4 Vs the canon 35mm f1.4L wide open both on the XT2.
What's funny is I've recently moved from a Canon 5d iv to an xt3. Fuji is freaking amazing that the Canon is collecting dust.
I'm not sure Why Haha nice...I don’t think I’ll fully swithch just yet but it really is amazing
I bought one to pair with my XT3 and my 85 viltrox...Spot on for £699 brand new !
@@HyunRalphJeong yeah the flip out thing is a big thing for us too. Also read it doesn't have built in stabilization.
Fantastic review
Many gearhead dreams got ruined by Fuji ... once you try it, it's hard picking up again those Nikon and Canon DSLR monstrosities. Good review.
BelowZero Thank you!
