    Hope this block goes well for you Andy. I lived in Abingdon all my life until I moved to South Herefordshire last year. If I’m visiting family that day I’ll come out and support. 👍

    Nailed that week of training Andy 👌. Thats a big fartlek session and what a beautiful morning to do it on. Those trails looked stunning

    Solid set of runs there. We were wondering on your watch. I used to have one of those. Have you ever thought about migrating to Coros or a more recent Garmin? Or is it a case of stick with what you know and like?

      Thanks guys 👊 yes I do want to upgrade to a watch with dual band GPS, but it’s on the list along with a lactate meter, and I need to stop buying shoes first 😂

    Based on your most recent 10k’s would equate to about 2:36 marathon potential (wouldn’t recommend going off any races shorter than 10k)

    Good start to the block. What can you run for a marathon? 2.37 I reckon, 6 minute miling and easy to remember!

      Lots from the last block! Lots of mistakes made there… the Newport block was probably my best, I’ll share some thoughts in an upcoming video

    Andy, how do you combine salt pills and gels on race? is ok to take pil and Maurten gel in same time?

      I haven’t done it in a race myself… but I have in training quite a bit as I was practicing for Newport marathon last year. I found it fine taking them together or one just before I took the gel

    Heart rate is not correlated to lactate? Is this true? Its always shown on the same graph...

      There is a correlation, to a degree… you can know “roughly” if you’re in the right zone, but you can’t tell for definitely. Example - that Tuesday night I was overheated and very tired, but my HR was low… however I wouldn’t like to also say my lactate levels were low too…. I will be investing in a monitor for the future, I just need to stop buying shoes so I can afford one 👍

      The strips cost far too much... I wonder does lactate increase with cardiac drift... hmmm... what they need is a continuous lactate monitor.

      @@ianreid6495 They do, but it'll be worth buying for one whole block so you can build up a picture of your lactate profile and map it to HRs... then the next block you can probably afford to test a bit less

      @@TheFODRunner Impressive workouts! I don’t think I could make myself do that much or know when to back off. That’s why I like having a coach.
