Just love those Old School stories! Technics 1200 is amazing; I have (1) that is 20 years old and (1) that is approximately 28 years old. Man, they are built like a tank and still going today. Great video!
I agree with what one of them said: "Using a laptop is putting something between you and the audience and that breaks this 'thing'". And I agree, since it's a similar story when using vinyls. They have this mechanical wonder about them that makes me keep my 20 year old record player and even older records and not throw them away. The feel of pulling back a physical representation of a song and releasing it on beat just gives me a thrill that no other computer or CDJ gives.
I just sold my stuffs like my 4 CDJ1000s, Numark NS7 and others and kept my old vinyl turntables 4 of them. My laptop and sound card broke down good thing I still have my 3 decades old vinyl collection.
@Anthony Kirkwood The very first scratch tool I bought is by Paul Oakenfold (Bust A Groove 12"). I mean, I doubt he can scratch much but he put out a record specifically for battles.
@Anthony Kirkwood Yeah I can't really remember the breaks, but the scratch samples had a good three seconds of silence between each one. Pretty useless.

There's something about vinyl that you just can't replace with cd's. Probably nostalgia talking but you can't beat mixing vinyl or for that matter watching a dj mixing with vinyl.
