Well, if our society has deemed it reasonable and acceptable, to price housing out of the reach of some people, when will they decide euthanasia would be merciful?
Our cities and roads look like crap. A bit of infrastructure spending could employ these good people making our country nicer, and give them an opportunity to have homes.
I heard somewhere that it costs more to NOT house them than it would to house them. Tons of abandoned properties that could use caretakers. If people were smart and goodhearted, we wouldn't have a problem.
I have good reasonable solutions but my opinions mean nothing to anyone in power so it's not worth bothering. The problem will be a forever problem because few people truly want to solve it and in a reasonable manner.

The issue is not the sleeping outside for most...it is the trashing places out, starting fires all the time that spread quickly in open spaces/parks and by homes, open use of drugs and leaving needles around, using the toilet in the street or leaving human waste in unsanitary, public locations, the increases in theft and vandalism around the camping area, the public feeling unsafe and harassed by people that high or extremely labile and mentally ill that threaten them, noise, public disturbance/being high or drunk in public, etc. That is the real issue. It would not be an issue in a designated zone if it was clean, hygienic, peaceful, drug free, etc. We definitely need to rebuild the asylums for long term housing of seriously mentally ill, and we need to prosecute crimes like littering, loitering, disturbing the peace, etc instead of just dropping the charges and treating it like it is nothing. Also if a designated area is made, make the residents clean the area and pay a small fee to help with costs and to make it so their level of investment goes up.
The government needs to be held responsible for all the money that has been basically giving themselves for taking the money from taxes 😢I know that instead of giving citizens enough money to survive on because of the greed of the people in congress
Homeless people should not be allowed to sleep on the streets if alternatives like shelters are available to them. Staying in a shelter should not be optional to them if a shelter is available. It should be mandatory, but in many instances these homeless people are drug-addicted and don't want to submit to a shelter's rules regarding drugs and curfews. They have rights, but their rights end where the rights of others in society begin. If you are homeless and panhandling and I give you some money, (which happens frequently), and then you turn around and use that money to buy drugs, you have completely lost my empathy. Tough love is what is needed to deal with the homelessness problem, along with meaningful support for those who fell in the situation through no fault of their own and really want to get back on their feet and do something with their lives.
We need stronger tariffs on imported goods so that businesses can afford to hire local to make things. Communities need to invest in strong local economies. Stop sending all our money away. Support your neighbors.
There's no reason to penalize other countries for our government's negligence. It's the corporations exploit other countries for cheap labor and by their resources abroad As well as those who exploit illegals over here to pay low wages.

Workers are merely tapped residents on power trips. 86’d residents for having sodas in their lockers, looking thru a dumpster, wearing a hat indoors or simply disrespecting them! Ultimately, I opted to live in my vehicle. But, I was lucky to have the option.
Homelessness is not a crime. Ignoring it is.
Jail is stupid expensive. Simple housing is a fraction of the price.
It’s not a crime it’s a tragedy. We are a rich country we pay a ton of taxes. Who is miss managing the money we pay

I don't care if they sleep in vehicles as long as they have a place to go to the bathroom and take care of garbage
Or..and of course NO DRUGS/ALCOHOL use should be allowed in Grant's Pass or any public space

Not true. There is a lot of abandoned property in this country.

Penalizing other countries it's not the answer. The answer is penalizing the people who BUY from other countries.
