#redsweatsuit guy was amazing. However, he needs to learn to save his best flashes for the finale. Don't show the audience your brilliance until it's needed.
Yes! I just commented the same thing XD. It was an entertaining battle, but left was very clean. You could distinguish every note, no flat flams. The only fault that I could see is he seems to fall off right at the end of his last run, not bad though. Neither of them have any flair (stick tricks), but their playing was among the best. To be fair, the guy on the right is so tall he really could've used a snare that was at least like 4 inches higher.
It seems that there was a disadvantage for all the drummers because the snare wasn't adjusted. It was either too high or too low which constituted bad posture in be bending over, leaning over having hand too far over the drum i.e. the drummer in the red track suit; in which I believe was the winner because he showed more rhythmic dexterity.
Most of the kids had to bend down in order to play the snare. As far as I'm concerned the snare is placed down to low and it needs to be higher. Other than that these kids can play very well even if it were to low. Nice job for pointing that out. Drummers can't play at their full potential because the drums set to low but other than that I think that it's not to big of a deal or difference in performance.
Got to like that one to the extremes about everyone to watch anyone grow no matter what age 5 to 50 is always a cool thing. Positive vibes coming from my tribe one merely needs to look and listen and never have to wonder. why but I'll say it anyway we b bad

The skinny kid in black and glass in the quarter finals showed for more technical knowledge and flat out comprehensive skill than everyone else this contest sadly went to flare not skil
Watch his timing he continued to change his cadence and adjusts his strikes to accent unlike the other contestants that are just playing loud and flipping their sticks
I agree. Things other than mechanical skill is often neglected by non experienced players, such as the crowd who cheered when they saw sticks fly in the air don't get me wrong. That's insane, but I think things you mentioned are more impressive. At least for me
Yeah a lot of people are saying he shouldn't have won the first round but people don't realize the difficulty of controlling your volume on a snare especially at the speeds they are going at
It's called being dexterous. You need to be flexible in your movements when you are playing drums. Yes you will see a lot of stick flipping and stick tricks. It shows how much skill level they have on the snare drums. A drum stick toss at the end of the day can still lend you a huge skill advantage. It goes to show how much practice they put into their work of art. I play African drums aka djembe. I am not very accustomed to playing with drums with sticks. I prefer African drums because they are fun to play with and you can go as fast as you want. I also prefer them over snare drums. I kind of wonder why bands never use African drums for band. But anyways if you wondered why they do all of that flailing of drum sticks then now you know. They aren't doing it simply because it's flashy. They are doing it to show how much they love to beat the snare drums. Just as how I like to roll the djembe these kids like to do tricks with the sticks because that is their talent and that is their skill as well as their thing that they love to do.
I love this format, the guy who won has got some serious chops. Well done to all. Maybe someday this marching chop throw down you do it for old dudes like me too. I would like to try.
