HELL YEAH, it’s a kinda slept on anime

    • @Juhnime
      @Juhnime  2 года назад +2

I positively think that it’s really up to what the audience is wanting out of it. If it’s genuinely for the comedy, it achieves that purpose. But categorized under the “romance” genre, I feel that a part of that was not necessarily emphasized. But again, that’s just what I think. (:

Might watch it later, great suggestion as always

      Thank you! (:
I would recommend you watch this if you're into a chill and relaxing anime. If you're wanting something with emotions and whatnot (such as Violet Evergarden), this may not satisfy you. But again, it's completely up to how you feel!

Ah, I apologize. It’s been a while since I made one of these. Also, my style of videos tend to be more on the heavy atmospheric side because to make it more serious. I apologize T_T

I actually related a lot to all of the characters, and since I don't mind slow pacing for the most part, I didn't mind that they didn't get development for season 1, although I would've liked a better finale than them playing a board game together lmao. Still, I think the best part of Imouto Sae is that despite being an average slice of life, you can read into it a lot and find tons of stuff to connect with. I assume the light novels do exactly what you wanted the anime to do, though I've only read up to volume 7. I know some plot does move forward but not everything you wanted from the show has happened yet. That's fine for me, but if you really crave the show getting deeper into its characters then yeah you should prolly just skip it

It seems I definitely missed out on a big part of the anime by not reading the manga so I’m planning on checking it out soon! (: Thank you though!

let's hope it gets a season 2 so it can expand on the characters

I agree with this! I heard from another comment that the original manga actually does exactly of what I stated in the video. If season 2 was to be published, I’m sure it’ll actually be even better!

Thought the show could have been a lot better but it was overall enjoyable. I like the premise and the first two episodes were hilarious.

I think they had the potential concepts, but it just was taken the less developmental way. But still, overall a good show to just relax and watch. (:

Having seen the anime & read the light novel, gonna have to disagree with you for quite a few reasons.
The relatability is definitely there. Maybe not to you, but definitely to its core audience; light novel fans. Compare the show to its manga equivalent, Bakuman, and things starts to fall into place. You may have never had to work the entire night trying to finish a manuscript, but as a manga fan you've definitely read a chapter which was made like that. Similarly the struggles of a light novel author may not be relatable to everyone, but it's a feeling that most LN fans can sympathize with. At the same time aspiring LN/web authors find the struggles relatable. The opening of the show, I think, made it very clear; it's a parody of romantic comedy Light Novels. Anyone who gets weirded out by the outlandish opening clearly hasn't read/seen many romcom Light Novels.
Which again compares well with Bakuman being played as almost a battle shounen which is so popular in the medium of manga and Imouto Sae playing as a ecchi romantic comedy which is popular in Light Novels.
Regarding Miyako's character in the show; she was not jealous of their success. Rather she was jealous of the passion they had of writing LN. Later in the novels it is explored and she does find something she feels passionate about. The anime doesn't cover much of the story so you can't really blame the story for that.
I personally very much enjoyed the show, nailing perfectly the feeling of missing pieces in life that everyone is envious each other of. Plus OP+ED slaps, go watch it if you haven't already.

Heyo! Thank you for your insight! (: Since this video was just made revolving around the anime, I think that’s probably why I wasn’t able to relate to much of the content. I do certainly agree that the anime series itself did not feel completed and I’m sure the manga was probably the best place to go to find its rightful conclusion. I guess one day I’ll check it out and see what I’ve been missing out on! (‘:

Also, I just realized that my revised script was actually modified in a different version. I originally had meant to say passion, but my revision script said success. That was a mistake on my behalf! But I definitely agree with you and with Miyako’s vision (when just specifically talking about the anime). I say that because I have zero insight on what the manga actually provides. heh
