the moment I heard this cover, I knew I had to vid these two with it. I mean... how perfect is this song for them? I just really love this relationship. their buildup was phenomenal, but damn did they crash and burn WAY too quicky. the conflict between them when they were together (marissa struggling to do simple adult things like paying rent and doing laundry, the whole mallpisode/ryan fiasco, etc) just seemed so forced and unnecessary. there's a lot of things I would have done differently with their story, but alas... you will find me sobbing over 'what could've been' fanfiction.

This was so incredible. I fucking love these two. And the reasons why their breakup seems to forced is because the network intervened. Malex was supposed to be together all season, and Marissa's bisexuality was supposed continue to be a bigger part of her.
why did the network intervene?
@@gm.8805 because in the mid 2000’s networks were terrified of gay people, no but really, they worried that people would stop watching if Marissa actually had a meaningful relationship with a woman and if she was allowed to be actually bisexual. Back then characters were allowed to be bisexual or have a same sex attraction for sweeps (which is about a month where ratings matter more) before going back to boys (Angela on Bones, Adrianna on 90210, Katherine on Desperate Housewives ect.) and never talking about liking girls ever again.
@@EmmieClassix no wonder marissa’s bisexuality was never further explored, and how julie and kirsten just shook it off as a “phase” during the show.

though for me ryan&marissa is otp, i loved alex&marissa and they really did have a beautiful build up and such a good relation!

they were so sweet in the beginning. i dont get why she was suddenly not fine with being in her trailer. i love both them and ryissa so much and i cant choose between the two. i feel so bad for alex i see she was really into m and looked so broken when she found out about ryan and marissa were spending time together. they brought out the best in each other in the beginning of their relationship 🥺
i am a huge ryissa stan but after rewatching i fins these two were perfect 💜 wish m didnt die and had to choose between her and ryan in s4 🥺🥺🥺🥺
@nate Archibald do you think if marissa had been with alex in season 3 somehow that marissa would have had better character development instead of the writers forcing trauma on marissa
i’m a ryissa but they should’ve gotten more screen time!
