    You can make orchestral music on an MPC if you have the skills and motivation. It is limited by the user, not a style or genre.
    Knowledge goes a long way. The more you know, the more you can do.

      I was one of the people who asked the question because most mpc standalone beat making vids on RUclips are mostly boom bappy type beats and I want to learn to make beats like TB Digital, Lollipop etc… which is not hard to do using a daw…but I’m moving away from the daw platform (hope I explained that correctly)

    • @unvmyskill
      @unvmyskill 3 месяца назад +2

      @@ariestrucker7832 it gained its popularity during the time of sample based/ boom bap era so it is definitely used for that style primarily. Producers who came up in that era gravitate towards it because of familiarity, but as Jae pointed out it’s still used by a few producers doing “current” styles beats. All good didn’t mean to come off dickish.

      @@ariestrucker7832 I think Metro Boomin does some of his beats on the MPC (even though he started as a click producer with FL Studio). Back when Future and Drake's What A Time To Be Alive album came out, Metro was promoting the MPC Live (i think the model that came before the one in the vid).

    To be honest, this video is an instant classic!! Great instructions by Jae Freshmen. I just found out about you today and you got my subscription and like!! Will check out your other stuff... Appreciate ya... I went to Zzzounds to get a MPC ONE on a 6 month plan but they didn't have any SO I got the SP 404 MK2. Of course, the MPC is a DAW in a box BUT the SP is a beast of a sampling workstation. I got the Korg Kross 2 and the ZOOM R8 to go the DAW-less way so I'm straight...

    It’s mad in the MPC groups on Facebook. It’s like learning to master an instrument (learn music) is kinda frowned upon.
    While I agree that you don’t need a degree in music to be a ‘beat maker’, having some rudimentary understanding of music gives you more options/ solutions you otherwise wouldn’t have when you’re occupying the creative space.

    I appreciates your tips, bro. I have been making non-boombaps since the mid 90s because I did not want to copy beatmakers from that era so I just make them as I feel them...I don't try to lower the BPM, but I'm a beat making challenge where all of the beat makers beats are damn near less than 85bpms and I make them between 90-95 because I like that flow better because when I rapped I just like that BPM as it fit my way of rapping. it wasn't like I was some type of fast rapper like Twista and them, but I just had a different flow from rappers from back in the day. bopping my was not my thing and it still is not as I make my own beat. I let them speak for themselves, : )...Love your channel though, I always get some good tips from you. thank you bro, :)

    we can do modern beats because it is about sounds, types of melody, drums pattern, etc but if you ask just about MPC as a device I think it is not the best option. Too much clicking in the menu, under the menu, under under under the menu, it's a bit archaic. mpc is great for non-binding cleaning and that's it. the look is certainly modernist, but that's about it. If we are talking about the device and its flow, unfortunately akai force is more user-friendly and should be developed because it has potential. I will not discuss here such issues as music theory because in the case of, let's say, heavy flow mpc it may be important. I'm sorry if my opinion didn't reflect the tone of your film. MPC live, one plus, x looks great in videos and for typical enthusiasts. New players should try Akai Forca as a compromise and entry into the world of such devices.I would like to see one and the same person making a beat on mpc live and the same thing on akai force, then it would be easy to understand what I'm talking about and maybe it would also give food for thought
