  • Cousin Jim fishes on the Diawa Pacific with Capt. Mike (the owner of the boat) and had a great trip! Many people caught their first Bluefin on this trip the crew did a fantastic job helping everyone through the tangles. Jan had a huge fish to the boat 3 times it bent his hook open on its last run.

    I sam the same way. If no one is hooking, and there are no marks under the boat just reel up and let the fish get into the boat. Annoying how many times the same people get wrapped.

    Hello all, I have a Penn fathom 25N on a Penn Ally 6'....if you had that setup how would you line/bait it for smaller bluefin/yellowtail?! Thanks for any advice

    • @brianwhite6519
      @brianwhite6519 Год назад +1

      The rod is a bit short, 7-8 ft would be better. That reel is a bait reel, so I would put 65lb braid, 30lb mono top shot, and a size 4 owner Mutu circle hook.

    Always one guy with a coffee grinder that tangles up everyone and almost always looses the fish ….

    • @cousinjim1
      @cousinjim1  Год назад +2

      His fish was gaffed three times I dont think it was his fault as his fish may have been 150#

      @@cousinjim1 ouch …. That one hurt for sure !! Lost two myself last season , both were well over 100lbs . One swam away with a nice gaff of mine !

    • @dojo1249
      @dojo1249 Год назад +2

      true true coffee grinders really have no place on head boats (for big tunas) but people also need to follow their lines and keep them tight and there was quite a few who were not doing so. also people who fish with mainly braid cuts others off way to much, that is the main reason plus safety in the north east we have to have 100 yards of mono with braid as backing if the even crew allows it. olus fish was gaffed 3 times? why did they lose it then? once I could see but not three.
