Thanks for this man. I didn't even take mine apart just sprayed with some penetrating lubricant and bam! My car goes into park now. 😁 I'll still probably take it apart and lube it but this was a quick fix. Thanks again 👊

@@mysticyamcha3697 Exactly where he shows you. Didn't have to take it apart, I just liberally sprayed down the whole part with PB blaster and it hasn't acted up since and that was a year ago now 👍

Nice video! Still would rather fix shit like this for 0$ than change a whole ecu or a complete transmission like most new cars lol

I did this fix today on my 2013 Mazda 6. The black box on the end of the shifter cable was adhered to that dirty rusty metal piece. While prying it apart with a screw driver that box snapped off. It's still a circular shape and I put it all back together and it all works and is fixed...the clip even went back on. But that black box, or cap, on the cable is gone and the metal nipple just sticks out.
Any idea on long term effects of this?? Or a quick fix without replacing the whole cable??
Disclaimer: be careful when removing the cable for cleaning, don't do what I did and break it....it's cheap plastic...it snapped super easy with almost no force applied.
