I think in context they both sound good. But djinn definitely has a more processed sound to it where as the nolly sounds slightly more "real". Horses for courses sort of thing really. All down to preference at this point
Haven’t tried Djinn bass, but loving the Nolly so far! I think my favorite feature is the subdivision control, so you can have the plug-in do down and up-picks based on whatever note division you choose. That feels like such a basic quality of life feature that’s made programming a breeze!
Completely different pickup position, but djinn does sound more processed (funnily enough or not though, I have gotten my own DI to sound nearly identical to Djinnbass 😂)
@@cameronneal4 the actual NG basses haha 😂 Djinn is sampled way too hard in my opinion Playing that hard on the actual bass just leads to a really pumpy tone with uneven dynamics Nollybass is better in that regard but you're limited to the bridge pickup soloed which is not what Nolly has historically done (this is new for P5) Juggernaut had bridge middle in series using both 2 and 3 pickup basses, P3 used Combustion V2 basses with the J spacing for the 6 string songs and the classic NG2s for the 7 string songs, P4 used a lot of the NG2 both pickup setting and some of the J tone on the NG3 (series/parallel may vary depending on your bass, since the internal wiring of the pickups has changed over time) And then Nolly just went right to the bridge pickup for P5 which I personally find to sound really quite thin and not that powerful by itself (it works in the mix though which is what's important)
I'm really glad it was helpful! I'd say it's worth it! In my opinion, they are different enough that having both gives you really good options! That being said, I think I personally will be almost exclusively using the Nolly plugin and I would sell my Djinn back if I could! But that's just because I love the customized EQ nobs that Nolly included in it! I'm not super great at EQing bass on my own.
Used both. I'd save your money and pick one of them. You can't go wrong with either. And then pick a different one (submission grove or umansky) for finger and extended articulation types)

I think you summed it up pretty well!
Nolly is cheaper and sounds alot better imo. So, Nolly it is
Yeah, after a little while of using it, I'd say it sounds like a real bass. Even isolated on the clean setting. It's pretty crazy!

For real! That's such a helpful feature!
Djinn sounds so so fake.

Haha! That's awesome! What kind of bass do you have?

djinn often feels better in the mix, according to my observations
Thanks for the comparison! Super helpful! I am thinking of picking up Nolly Bass but already of Djinn. Do you think it is worth having both?

Djinn sounds better 🤷🏽♂️
I was surprised that in the low octave with distortion, I think I liked it a bit better too. I think it sounds faker in general, but that's just me.
