@@sandrasharp2934Yeah, Chin, yes, but not her brain! She was one smart woman! She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her! She was a very kind woman who brought many to the Lord! I didn't know until today that had recently left for heaven to be with the one she loved more than anyone, her Lord!Pray for Mark too! He really loved his Mama!
Aside from the fact that this lovely moment was captured for posterity, this is a genuinely good song. It is astounding to think that the Maker of the universe begged for a drink. His love truly is amazing.
I loved it on Mark Lowry on Broadway when you asked her to introduce the Vocal Band and she said . "I'd be happy to. The Mark Lowry Vocal Band. " You said, "No, no. Its the Bill Gaither Vocal Band." She said " I like this better." What a moment for her. You could just see the pure LOVE she had for you. God bless you. What a lady
When I hear this song, I can't help but love my daddy and mommy more! I, my husband, and my parents have a gospel group and we used to sing alot. My dad is gonna be 83 next month and his singing voice is slowly fading but when he sings The Old Rugged Cross, it brings tears to my eyes. I've heard many people sing I Thirst but your mama makes me wanna go Home! I have loved you and your music since you came out with Mouth In Motion and spoke about open heart surgery. You've made me laugh when I felt so down and I'm so glad that listen to and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. May God richly bless you!
Mark, What a precious memory you have of your Mom. She was beautiful and a singing angel. Wow!!! I'm so glad you have this recording and video. You are so tender-hearted, Mark. So glad you had such a sweet songbird for a Mom. Love, Lois
How precious and beautiful to sing with your mother, it’s something I miss and look forward to be able to sing with mine one day soon❤. Thank you for sharing this.
What an amazing woman "Mama" (Bev Lowry) was and still is in memory! I was so amazingly blessed to meet her & Charles & work with them at the product table at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville during Mark's Senior Trip! This song will live in the memory banks of my life forever!
Whoa! This clip is so special! I am a new fan of Mark L since June 2020, and have heard him talk about his Mom, and found his clips of her in the nursing home... but never did I know they shared this on stage moment! How wonderful! Mark: please share this on your. Pop ups with your audience! On FB and You tube! It is a very happy and blessed time for you and your beautiful Mom! Praise the Lord! So very very happy to see you got to sing with your Mom on stage! Fantastic!
Absolutely beautiful!!! A wonderful song so tenderly and lovingly sang by Mark and his mother Mrs Beverly Lowry the author of this beautiful song. It’s message is simple but clear.
what a lovely voice she has. And so strong and so vibrant for her age. Truly remarkable... you can tell they sing out of love for singing and the Lord.
I love when you can see the spirit just radiate from some people. Just in this single video not only could you see her love of the Lord in her but the proudness she has in her son.
My mom just passed away from Dementia as well just this week and this was her favorite song and had it sang at her funeral thanks for such a beautiful song.

My husband Shawn Obrien and I co-wrote I Thirst during Lent in 2007. This is one of the Stations of The Cross ✝️. Shawn was seeking The Baptism of The Holy Spirit which he received on Easter! Praise the Name of The Lord.
No, Bev Lowry wrote that, also this was recorded in the late 90’s so therefore this story is false. I’ve seen you try to take credit for many songs and it’s not right
Mark's mom wrote this song. It is really beautiful, and makes you stop and think about what Jesus did for us.
Thank you, Beverly Lowry, for writing what may be the best gospel song ever written.
You are so lucky to be brought up in a Christian home Mark. Your Mother was a beautiful woman. Such a gift that the two of you could sing together. ☺️
