    Nike React all the way. 700+ miles in my Pegasus 3 Trials. I use on tarmac only. No signs of degredation on the foam. Lots of support cushionng and decent spring. For me, the best running shoe I have worn.

    Lightstrike foam died so quickly in my SL20 after 150K - 93Miles of running, the crease was crazy and I did pick up an injury. Then I switched to Skechers max cushioning shoe. I have to try the React foam I got my eye on Nike react miler but I'll wait for a sale that's for sure. Great content Doctor cheers.

    The SL20s which are a running shoe have been consistently good for me. Have had them for about 4 months. I don't run much 18-20 kilometres a week. But they held up pretty well.
    Might be that the Ubersonic 4s have so less of lightstrike has to do something with them bottoming out pretty fast.

    I am of course no expert and not an avid runner but boost and light strike are better than react in my opinion. With my experience, Nike shoes just feel more unstable. For example, I had noticeable heal pain with a Nike Trail shoe. Once I switched over to an Adidas shoe with boost the pain went away right away. It was crazy!

    Brilliant video again. It’s really educational to see all these brand names being brought back to the actual names of the materials.
    Question regarding BOOST: I use running shoes with boost. To me they seem very mushy and I kinda doubt that they do much in the sense of energy return and feel unresponsive in general. They almost feel like a soft tyre.
    Is there any logic to that?

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад +2

      Yep completely - they’re doing their job in that deflating type feeling but that’s what it’s designed to do , not give you back return energy so it’s great for repetitive stress , not great for bounce and energy return

    It still confuses me that in the Boost vs Bounce video, you stated that eTPU, which is plastic based, is great for absorption but not energy return while EVA is good for energy return ( as in Tennis Bounce shoes), but this video is completely different (for the case of react: eva helps with compression and plastic based one helps with energu return):) can you pls explain

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад +1

      Its just how the foam is pressed when manufactured - some eTPU can give good bounce back , some cant, some EVA will give alot of pop, others arent as good- it depends on the way its molded

  • @stupud16
    @stupud16 3 года назад

    How did you determine the components of the foams? According to adidas, Lightstrike is TPU, not EVA.

    • @stupud16
      @stupud16 3 года назад

      @@FootDoctorZach do you think it’s likely that lightstrike is an Eva/tpu blend like react? That might explain the similar creasing and more Eva-like feel of lightstrike. I think your assessment of the foams is spot on, regardless of the foam composition.

    • @FootDoctorZach
      @FootDoctorZach  3 года назад +1

      There HAS to be EVA in it just from its mechanics and how it deforms plus it has cells that you can see when you cut it open but yeah for sure I’m sure it has some mix in there because they can’t just lie and say it’s a tpu and put eva in it but I’d be shocked if it was a full bed of tpu because boost and ultra boost are just such polar opposites of LS - but I just cut the video just so it’s intellectually honest - I’ll have to follow up with adidas to dig down into that more- thanks again for the follow up
