You see it a little here, but Elite Bulk Detonators have a goddamn SPRINT mechanic! From what I can tell they can only use it to move in a straight line, but watching one suddenly start running at you is absolutely HORRIFYING.
I think all glyphids are capable of sprinting. They just do it when they need to catch up to you. I always have grunts and praetorians sprinting after me but once they come around the corner, they slam the brakes and start moving normal again.
It can be very deceptive how fast or slow bulk detonators can be But there is no doubt about it when an elite bulk sprints toward you like a freight truck.
I really wish elite enemies were given palette swaps to make them stand out more. Bulk/regular detonators: burning red instead of orange. All Grunt Variants: Shiny black armour with bone white skin. Menace: Purple/red gradient instead of blue/green. Mactera Variants: Bright purple wings, a blueish body, and a pink weakspot. Praetorians/Oppressors: Orange/deep red with a orange/yellow weak-spot, mimicking Dreadnoughts.
@@ratfarmer1 In one instance I was scout running from a horde of bugs in crystal caverns on haz 5. I knew there were two Mactera grabbers about. I got myself onto a raised cliff face with my back to a wall. There was one thick useless crystal jutting infront of me, so I knew to expect the mactera to come from either left or right. What I hadn't expected was both of them coming at the same time, from either side of the pillar. It gave me a fright but also was laughin' the whole way.
A friend of mine didn't have an elite get him but he did have TWO bulk detonators attack at the same time at the end of a Recovery mission. Keep in mind he was defending the fuel cell and couldn't leave the green circle.
This clip reminds me of a little bit ago when I was on haunted caves and I when the unknown horrors was behind me I thought the noises were it and not the bulk detonator around the he corner
Had one appear from over a ledge RIGHT in front of me when I was playing with my friend. He had the pleasure of hearing me scream into the mic in raw terror.
In all my 375 hours of gameplay as of this moment, i have only ever encountered an elite bulk detonator ONCE and it was during a salvage mission during the uplink I will admit i made noises i was not proud of that day
It's very rare (crassus detonator is common occurrence comparatively), you have to prioritize missions with elite threat modifier at every opportunity for a reasonable chance to see one. I've seen only one or two in my +2k hours.
Well I would agree if it was normal ones, but this was 4 Elite Boomers on haz 5 MCE. I think I might've also done something with Swarm Control but I'm not sure. Also, harder gamemodes always exist, that doesn't change the fact that this was pretty shocking. If anyone can do better, I'm impressed. But I don't think it matters in this case.
I was on elite dive if I remember right with my friend, and this shit happened, but not once, not twice, but at least 3 times in row! Much more to horror? It's a convoy
Fun fact: did you know that each second you are not running an Elite Bulk Detonator is getting closer? By the way, there is no known material capable of stopping it from approaching... You should run *NOW*
Broh me and my friend had a mission on the same biome and first thing spawned was that elite bulk detonator, then 2 simple ones with swarm, Nemesis and Bet-c as topping on a cake. Shit was real😤
It was actually a late death. I told him to spawn at 2:15pm so we could make it look like an actual chase, and that mf showed up at 2:40 when I was on the wrong side of the map 🙄😒 smh never schedule anything with a bulk
@cardnal44 the pgl is a good weapon. But compared to the breach cutter and shard disfractor, it sucks. Unless it has an OC as good as blistering necrosis for the wave cooker It's useless
@Duskcosmog i'd take pgl over diffractor honestly. Napalm pgl is fantastic early game crowd clear and holds up decently with rj250. The pgl is also a better cc option long range since the breach cutter doesn't travel as fast and has limited range. The pgl is the best long range cc, breach cutter is the best close range cc and shard diffractor is the best in single target medium to long range, with the exception of HP pgl (overdrive booster exists for shard diffractor, though. I don't know how those two stack up against each other

Im like 99% sure all bulks can sprint just fyi
The return of Dead space's freak charge
@@crittergonyayeah they can, it's just way easier to notice on elites which exist apparently

that sound of his steps getting closer is so terrifying

Elite Bulk Detonator: I PULL UP IN A NEW BUGAT-
if its elite threat and you hear something big stomping the ground
just RUN
It smells like leaf lover here!
The correct answer is to make the Elites your bitch!
Happened to me at least three time and that shit is scarier than any dreadnought
edit : Wtf, why do I get so much like ?
Imagine they added elite dreadnoughts, I would just exit to space rig if it was a hivegaurd 💀
My first 4th hazard mission I got 3 detonators
I really wish elite enemies were given palette swaps to make them stand out more.

Thats an awesome idea!
I mean, pallete swaps like those from biome bugs already would be awesome to mr
old Dread used to look like an oversized Praetorian lmao
If they showed up more often in missions I bet they would
Kaboom?🐧
yes rico, kaboom
NO RICO DON'T --
What
Idk what would be worse trying to fight one alone or when it’s indestructible with a full team
Imagine. An elite. Unknown horror.
Spooky!
My favorite is still Elite Mactera Grabber.
A dangerous and terrifying creature.
i love how they can just deliver you to the complete opposite end of the cave in a few seconds

I remember having to deal with two Bulk Detonators aswell, luckily we were still getting the mini mules recovered at the time.
@@DestruoTheWithered Just one is bad enough but two is just a nightmare when you're trying not to get everyone killed in the room.
@@PennsyPappas yeah, it was very dangerous but tbh, when you get one, the explosion usually kills the other.
I vaguely recall having 3 bulks drop in near the end of one of my runs, it was point extraction though and we just ran for the hills shortly after
Okay, an enemy that is actually scary with Elite modifier. Finally
Using the LOK and not angling shots into the weak points hurts me
But it’s understandable when that thing starts sprinting
I usually do, but he drank 2 Monsters before spawning 😔
You could see the fear wiggle hahahaha

*Points to PGL with RJ250*
tbh, scout the best variant for completing solo missions
I got one of these goobers on the last phase of a deep dive while we were prepping the fuel cells for the salvage portion of the mission
It's all fun and horror until you get 4 in one mission...
Hard cap on 3 bulk detonators per mission actually
Well, it was modded. So I'm afraid your actually doesn't apply here, but thanks for the input. I wasn't aware of it.
