IMHO........This is by far in the top three best videos on the eleven rack. Demos for many styles that I favor. Thankyou again. Needed to watch again and again. 👍🏻👍🏻😎
Oh Brother, I caught this a couple of years back but just stumbled on it again and it just blew my mind - Again! Your touch, feel and sound (all those usual cliches) as well as style and technique with these cleans and that strat are just the doggies nuts !! Awesome stuff dude - Big props BIG TIME :)))
This was awesome! Thank you so much for taking the time to show this off one the clean side. Though you may not do much clean stuff - its nice for someone like me who is looking for exactly those sound clips. Thanks man!
"Well, I don't know what you're doing wrong." Exactly! Could not have said it any better. Those sounds are in there, just need to coax them out! Thanks for the video post.
When you started to play the delay part @ 5:30 it convinced me to buy it. I was looking at the axe fx but its just to expensive I think the Eleven rack will do the trick.
I'm telling you and this still holds true - the amp modeling isn't $2000 better than the 11R... the FX are of course STELLAR on the Fractal stuff but I've just never been more impressed by the Fractal stuff having owned an FM3 and returned it. Don't get me wrong they sound GREAT but not thousand dollars GREATER than that 11R.
Thanks so much! I still have my Eleven Rack too - it STILL slays the Line6 stuff I don't care what anyone says! Well maybe not the FX overall but tone wise? Shooooooooo...
Hi - I'm a (very satisfied) Eleven Rack owner and I just returned from a couple of hours at a London Line 6 dealer messing with the new Helix. After all the rave reviews I half expected to leave £1100 the poorer and to be putting the Eleven out to grass. However it was a big disappointment. Two hours of messing and adjusting and I couldn't get any of the presets to sound anything like as rich as anything you play here. Nice stuff & much appreciated. Maybe I was just doing it wrong. I mainly play clean stuff and the Eleven is hard to beat. The 2 things I can recommend that work really well in the Eleven rack FX loop and make the sound even better are a Strymon Deco (very warm) and a Strymon Big Sky. Place the loop last in the chain. Greg Delaune demos some good sounding patches for the Helix but, if you have to work that hard to get it to sound good then I think there's something wrong.
Dude I agree 100% - I have heard the Helix SOUND GREAT but I wasn't able to make it work for me. I got the HX Stomp and sold it after a few months - it just wasn't doing it for me and like you said, I had to work too hard to make it sound good and I don't have time fuhdat! LOL
@Muggwhumpp I don't need that kind of pressure man! LMAO :-) haha Thanks man truly that's so nice of you to say and I am THRILLED you enjoy them as that's my goal! Appreciate you very much.
Good to see you back brother!!! As usual great playing and, maybe more to the point of the video, great tone. I hope we don't have to wait as long for the next video!! Take it easy...
video helped me in my decision to purchase an 11R. I 100% agree at this point that you CAN get a clean sound out of that thing. Thanks for the time you spent.
@harmonic12th Good to BE back! and hope I can get more back into it sooner than later! Thanks man I really appreciate it and it's brothers like you that keep me motivated to keep doing it and making it fun for me so thank you. :-)
Excellent video, man. It's fucking great. You've definitely thoroughly showed me just how awesome this set up is. I'm buying an Eleven Rack here soon. I can't freaking wait
Wow...I'm blown away by the quality of these tones. I've owned the Kemper and the Axe FX II and I gotta say for the money this has to the best buy. Dare I say, I prefer the tones from the Eleven rack more than what I was able to coax out of the other units. So I ordered one :-)
Cool tones and cool playing. Glad to see the Eleven Rack can do the Texas Blues thing. That's the one tone my old Rocktron Voodu Valve processor can't do. Looking to upgrade to the Axe FXII or this one. Nice clean tones! I gotta learn some U2 stuff.
@vaisatchatrucci - Got it figured out - the "Output to Amp 1 and 2" were muted in the preset. Got it now, and this taught me how to tweak the 11R Rig on the unit instead of relying on the screen in Pro Tools. Thanks again!
Great job Andrew - a little funky, a little twangy, and all good:) Great tones and playing. The 11R does it all (for me) - from the cleanest of cleans to super heavy and all things in between. Thanks for showing off some of the diverse clean sounds.
@dingle1 HEY! :-) My pleasure brother! Been a long time I know right?! Thanks so much man - you're such an inspiration to me and I know a ton of other players so I really appreciate that! Thanks for checkin' it out and sayin' hello! Appreciate ya!
your back!...awesome tones as usual bro! Funny to see all those Axefx nuts go crazy when the 2 was announced and here you are with a unit which is a 1/3 the price and you make it sound as good, if not better...awesome work...And I do think the right monitors make a huge difference to the end tone. Doing demos SHOULD be your job dude!
Wow!!!!! You start off slow and then your Hybrid picking starts! Jesus! I would steal that if I could. Been playing 40 years, know all kinds of cool shit not everybody knows, but that! Whoah Dude! Never stop!
+100 for that comment right there. We have to HEAR and UNDERSTAND tone before we can reproduce it, let alone create a sweet tone of our own. This can happen on an intellectual or feeling level or both, whatever works for the individual - we all process and respond to things differently. A rare few "just get it", but even they still have that understanding. They just reach it quicker. Awesome demo, thanks. I'll be snagging that preset and working on it as soon as my Eleven arrives :)
@Humbuckerification THX! Oh man I bet that Clapton strat sounds amazing! Yeah I've never understood that... Usually the ones who say "I cant get a clean tone out of the 11R so I returned it..." typically have a horrible high gain tone as well. Developing your ear to be able to dial in various tones from clean to high gain is a two fold process... You have to LISTEN and develop your ear 1st of all & THEN you build upon that solid foundation of a nice warm, rounded clean tone and THEN add gain.
anyone else using this in 2023? lol its an upgrade to me versus what im using to record with just GarageBand presets on my guitar... got a dude delivering me one tomorrow for $160 .. these are some beautiful tones! especially the ethereal ones glad its got some ambient ness fun to look forward to
I totally still use mine. All.the.time. I built a pedalboard over last winter. I run OD, comp into the front of 11R & delay, Mod & reverb into the effects loop of the 11R, and turn off the built in effects. I was amazed at how well the amp models in the 11R take the external pedals!
@peteglase Absolutely! Yeah man the tones are still outstanding I think and it’s definitely usable to this day for live and I agree it takes pedals really well and I’d have zero issues using it live to this day.
As always, an excellent video. I've got a Clapton Strat, and I get clean tones just fine on my 11R as well. Don't know what the fuss has been about not getting clean tones on the 11R, but like usual you cut right through the BS. Thanks, and I'm going to get this preset now.
I just bought an eleven rack based on your videos....I love it! Can you tell me what you are using for your live rig and how you connect your 11 rack? I thought of an approach of using a 2x12 cab with Celestion V30's and a tube power amp...what is working for you? Thnx!
Have to say, been playing many years and got a bit tired of buying this and that to accommodate certain sounds. For the money you can not go wrong with this unit...I have been able to dial in sounds from Gilmour to Dime, EJ to Mansoor... Basically if I want to find convincing tone all over the map without spending a freeking ton o money, 11 Rack will get you there. Purist and people with unlimited funding may mock but what ever...I am not trying to impress anyone with how much money I spent, just diggen the variety of awesome tones without selling the farm
Well said! I agree 100%!!! I STILL have the 11R and it STILL kicks A$$ but I do have other gear that kicks ass too! They're all tools at my disposal and all sound amazing.
You're an awesome guitar player! WIll the eleven rack out perform a vox pathfinder and tech 21 liverpool pedal with the Visual Sound tap delay pedal, Tech 21 RotoChoir, Electro Harmonix Stereo Tremolo pedal, etc??? Right now I'm using this setup and getting good results using this setup running into a Jet City 1x12 cab and micing with an SM57. Will the Eleven Rack give better results??
Nice playing man, love the U2 vibe. Interested in a eleven rack price has come down on them, and I want to upgrade my zoom. Kemper seems to be the standard these days but very costly
Yeah man if you can find one used, I would jump on it - I have had (still have some) all the main modelers out there and it STILL kicks ass. I just fired it up the other day to do a demo comparison video of it and the Quad Cortex and man it STILL hangs in there with the big boys!
@TheMHD2010 Thanks so much brother! Yeah you can’t go wrong with it - still hangs in there with the “big boys” and sounds great direct to FOH and amazing in studio I agree! 🤘🏼
@fayser1 Thank you! I think it's just a cathedral reverb - you can download the preset from the elevenrackpresets site and though it's not set to that, just change the current setting to that, increase the decay and the mix and you'll have it!
@Thepedalmaster It's a riff from an instrumental I'm recording. Thanks man I appreciate it! :-) Thanks for checking it out and taking time out to comment :-)
I think the confusion may be based on how to hook it up more than anything. It plays like a charm direct into your DAW or into a PA. But if you think of it as an effects rack and plug it direct into your guitar amp, you're probably doing the wrong thing. By default you have an amp and cabinet simulator in your output, and running that through your guitar amp is probably going to sound like mud. Fortunately, you can control what goes out of each output. Google the 11R live setup demo on youtube for more details.
Got lost in the vides there for a moment; must get some work done! Sounds fab! I am really interested in grabbing an Eleven Rack, even though they have now been discontinued by Avid.
Thanks brother! Man I just fired mine up the other day and holy cow it STILL sounds GREAT! If you can find one I highly recommend it. Make sure it has the expansion pack cause they added a bunch of good amps and stuff with that pack you'll enjoy.
@@markallen5839 Dude that's great to hear! I still think it's relevant gear I don't care what anyone says. I'll probably do some sort of comparison between it and the Quad Cortex which re the new videos I have just started doing and I think people will be surprised how well it stacks up!
@fernandosantucci Thanks bud! Yeah I was blown away by how many people that have returned the Eleven Rack had the excuse that it couldn't produce a good clean tone...? So that was the main reason for this video.
@HattanDT Thanks brother! :-) Yeah you need to install protools to be able to upload them via USB through the 11R on-screen editor available only via protools.
AWESOME! I do have a question though, how do you record your vids/audio? Seems like a mix between a direct recording and the camera? Or is it all the camera?
THE MOST outstanding video which inspired me to purchase the 11R. Strat/Tele guy here. I either used my 3 analog pedals, or just plug it in to my laptop and use the effects off of the laptop. Having this unit expanded my sonic armada. Thanks a lot for the video! What is the progression you're playing @10:40?
VSA YOU are my #1 favorite musician to watch & learn from.......You make me laugh & I just love what a humble person that you are.......What a great example bro........Oh & the you can "Rock it like a Hurricane" doesn't hurt things either.......Your #1 stalker.......X-Mann
Lovely.. just lovely... May I ask... what is your reverb setting around 11 mins .. sounds just fabulous... I cant seem to get rid of that metallic sound resonance and have it pure like you have... appreciate a settings description or perhaps a patch upload to elevenrackpresets if you get a chance... Thanks
@@vaisatchatrucci lol... back well rested I presume :) .. (yeah I sold my Eleven Rack and have moved on to the Line6 world.. no doubt you may have done something similiar?)
Wow - awesome job on the tones, and thumbs up for sharing your hard work! I just tried the preset from 11RP and it only worked on headphones, not through my amp. Is there something I needed to do?
Hello! great vid, by the way at min 5:30 you start with a very nice delay sound. Just wanted to know what exactly are you using to have that effect of stereo delays running around. Thanks in advance!
I'll have to break out the 11R and find out but I THINK its the Fender Duo if memory serves? I could be completely wrong but I'll find out and holla back! Thanks buddy!
LMAO!!! DUDE! I STILL do that! thats HILARIOUS... Its like a quarterback thing - its so I can grip the pick - not a great habit to have during a pandemic though LMAO! :-)
Clean and crunch is not a problem, you can get nice clean and crunch from anything, the problem starts at higain lead tones, especially, when you use the bridge and the neck pickup too in one solo.
@knikk77 YES! Thats what always kills me when I read posts about why people returned the eleven rack because they couldn't get a good clean tone? That just doesn't make sense, and it's not as if I spent a tremendous amount of time dialing this one in either... Start with a good guitar, good pickups, and the rest is all fingers and ears - it's just not difficult in my opinion...
@lopez316us TONIGHT I PROMISE!!! :-) i suck so bad - I did this video like months ago and just edited it and my 11R is packed up from my last "gig" if you will but I am breakin' it out tonight baby! Can't wait! AND I'll pull the preset in from the ProTools track I recorded cause I am REAL bad about naming my presets all the same name but like 1 or 2 at the end then I end up with 10 versions and can't remember which was which - LMAO :-)
4 years later and thank you.... your demo was most helpful.
+Michael Thomas so whats your take on it? good clean tones? this video was great because its very hard to find a reviewer that isn't 100% metal

This guy is incredible. Forget the unit, I just want to hear you play lol
Thank you so much!
@fernandosantucci Thanks bud! Yeah I was blown away by how many people that have returned the Eleven Rack had the excuse that it couldn't produce a good clean tone...? So that was the main reason for this video.
Great riffage at 09:30. Solid video all around!
Thank you so much!
@RichardA5150 Thanks Rich - good to see you on here too brother - hope you're doing well! :-)
Thanks buddy! Back then it was definitely a mix of camera and protools
Awesome playing man!
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much buddy! Sorry for the late response! I took some time off for about a decade LOL :-)
Great playing, right sound... You got a new follower! Really awesome!!
Cheers from Italy
🎸😏
Thanks so much buddy! Sorry for the late response! I took some time off for about a decade LOL :-)

Dude you can't go wrong with the AxeFX!

Thanks so much buddy! Sorry for the late response! I took some time off for about a decade LOL :-)

@@vaisatchatrucci 9-Years ago bro….9-YEARS!!! 😵👊🏼❌🤘🏼
Lovely.. just lovely... May I ask... what is your reverb setting around 11 mins .. sounds just fabulous... I cant seem to get rid of that metallic sound resonance and have it pure like you have... appreciate a settings description or perhaps a patch upload to elevenrackpresets if you get a chance... Thanks
Thanks so much buddy! Sorry for the late response! I took some time off for about a decade LOL :-)
@@vaisatchatrucci lol... back well rested I presume :) .. (yeah I sold my Eleven Rack and have moved on to the Line6 world.. no doubt you may have done something similiar?)
@MarshallGoPro You're welcome! Thanks buddy :-)
Sweet tones !! Sounded great to me. Are you using a midi pedal to change patches?
Thanks so much! Yes - definitely used a midi pedal to switch presets. At the time I was using a Ground Control Pro I believe.
Wow - awesome job on the tones, and thumbs up for sharing your hard work! I just tried the preset from 11RP and it only worked on headphones, not through my amp. Is there something I needed to do?
Thanks so much buddy! Sorry for the late response! I took some time off for about a decade LOL :-)
Hello! great vid, by the way at min 5:30 you start with a very nice delay sound. Just wanted to know what exactly are you using to have that effect of stereo delays running around. Thanks in advance!
Thanks buddy! Hit me up if you're still interested in an answer here and sorry for the delayed response. it's complicated... :-/
Bro I could listen to 15 mins of JUST that. I haven't heard anything like that in a nice long time
Thank you so much!
That guitar sounds awesome 👏🏻
Which amp model was that first John mayerish sound?
I'll have to break out the 11R and find out but I THINK its the Fender Duo if memory serves? I could be completely wrong but I'll find out and holla back! Thanks buddy!
I find it entertaining that you always lick your fingers before playing. Every video, several times before you've even picked a note. Keep it up man
LMAO!!! DUDE! I STILL do that! thats HILARIOUS... Its like a quarterback thing - its so I can grip the pick - not a great habit to have during a pandemic though LMAO! :-)
what are key tips to getting good strong higher gain strat tones? like maybe a general guideline not necessarily specific to 11R? love the demo
Thanks so much buddy! Sorry for the late response! I took some time off for about a decade LOL :-)
Awesome tones! Great playing!
Thank you so much!
Clean and crunch is not a problem, you can get nice clean and crunch from anything, the problem starts at higain lead tones, especially, when you use the bridge and the neck pickup too in one solo.
It can be tricky for sure!
holy crap it sounds amazing. i've been looking for a used axe standard but now...
Thanks so much buddy! Sorry for the late response! I took some time off for about a decade LOL :-)
Great playing, nice feel.
Thanks so much!
