Well now... this video is 3 yrs old and now an updated Sonata is about to hit the market. Much different exterior and interior. And the Sport turbo gets an 8 speed automatic. Looking forward to Tom's review.
FYI you stated the car driving mode always returns to defaulting to "normal" on startup. except that isn't quite correct. when selecting either normal or eco and the car always stays in that mode. ONLY when choosing sport mode does it then default back to normal mode.
I have never been a fan of Hyundai styling, but this car looks so much better than their previous cars. The swoopy design got old quickly, and I much prefer the understated look.
The design pendulum seems to have swung fairly hard toward the conservative side. This may help Hyundai in its home market, but I suspect it will hurt their sales here.
great review, the desingn i actually like it more than the previous one, and the elantra is already revealed just look up hyundai avante 2016 (thats how its called in korea) !!
Hyundai is finished. Buddy of mine got a new fully loaded Azera last year and was considering selling it and getting the new Genesis, service had always been great, loaner cars etc etc. He went in last week for a warranty issue and now the dealer said they don't give out loaners anymore. Needless to say he is looking at Lexus now, it's worth the little bit extra money.
SahijApple93 Yep, it's a bad sign of things to come. Hyundai is trying to be a premium brand with those cars, you always get loaners with those types of cars. Just last month they gave him a new Genesis as a loaner when his car was in service and even offered him an Equus, now this month they can no longer give out loaners.
For years I have always liked the Sonata. But when I first saw the last generation at the Auto show I didn't care for the exterior design. Then when my best friend was looking for a new car and we was looking at the Buick Lacrosse there was a Hyundai Dealership next door we checked out the Sonata and I hated the interior. My co worker just last year bought the Sonata and swears up and down it is the best car out there. He let me drive it and although the car drove nice it was a little slow for me. I like the way this new one looks they've toned it down. I've had two Hyundai in the past from the 90's and they have come a long way from what they used to be.
Last gens exterior and powertrain. The new gens interior with last gens gauges and I would have zero complaints. I have a 2011 but I really like this interior, especially the piping. The exterior of the new gen is just boring. It doesn't give you the 4 door coupe look of the 2011-2014's. Shame. Looks like the vw cc is the last 4 door coupe design left standing. Well the last affordable one at least.
Just got a sport limited. Fuckin love it so far. The 2.4 is surprisingly peppy. Coming from a 2015 focus. It’s so much better… plus that back seat head room hood god. Mines brown too… honestly throw some wheels and upgrade the stereo and this badboy is exactly like my gmas accord… turbo is great… but fuck that.. I need max gas mileage.
I dont like the direction hyundai is going. They aren't giving as many options as before and have yo many option packages. They are also getting too pricey.
I actually like this Gen styling a lot more than the last one

I like the last gen better. I also don't like companies that put blank buttons to remind you the options you didn't get.
Personally I like the look of this model more than the previous generation. The last gen was a little to much and it has kinda a feminine style to it.
Are the problems of the sonata easy to fix

I enjoy this look better than the previous generation. Looks much more mature!

“That sport must be croquet” ended me 😂😂
You didn't mention that Android Auto is also available.

reminds me of the Legacy. And if this is the sober version, i'll take the drunk one.
Great car I have one and love it great job Hyundai
3:39 this man was preparing for COVID way before anyone else.
Looking to buy this now in 2020, have a 2010 kia forte, which i picked up for 10k usd in 2014, and now this 2015 one is 10k usd 😀

So just because he can't get a loaner, like many dealers who don't give out loaners, he's switching brands? Well that's just weird.

venom5809 Try another dealer lol...it's not up to the brand to designate whether they give loaners or not, it's the dealership itself.
NotARealUTubeAccount Brand new multi-million dollar dealership, only one in town and only one within 50 miles. Where exactly else should he go then?
venom5809 you and your friends and your one cow town are all dumb asses!

I really want to know what happens with all the TP
Burrito Wednesday. Enough said!
He explained it in one of his videos. His local Costco lets him borrow TP and bring it back when he finishes recording the segment.
He saved it for he knew 2020 was going to be a doozy
I like the design
How in the world did you get to have lunch with Jimmy Fallon?!?
GodBless

+DoubleD 613 Still cheaper than fully loaded competitors to it though.
Sonata same fusion !
Whery good sonata 2015 red ! Good
how was lunch with Jimmy Fallon Tom?
It was great. And as long as I'm lying, Justin Timberlake was there too.
this car now looks like a rebadged VW passat
The last gen Sonata was quite ugly. This one is better, but still nowhere near as good looking as the Mazda 6 or Fusion.
Rather have the previous model, this looks like a Legacy
The Honda Accord Coupe V6 seems better than this....
kLPantera The Honda's engine is slightly better, but not as good looking to my eye. It's also terrible when you want to carry more than 2 passengers.
Holy sheit that's a lot of toilet paper!!
Onest
Its soooo bland...it hurts me....
