I remember we smoked a joint and we watched two guys play this game, i was mesmerized, it was crazy! back in 98. It was so realistic and exciting. Good times.
@@user-cq6dg6ql9j In my mind, I was doing my best to make the Seahawks a legit contender with Moon, Watters, and Galloway but it didn’t really work out in real life....mediocre af
Not the nostalgia talking, this was a true “game changer”. First football game with polygonal players…Gameday 98 was simply a better game than Madden. This was evidenced by Madden scrapping their engine to put polygonal players of their own in Madden 99. But Gameday being so different and challenging made it fun. First time I felt really challenged playing a football game that wasn’t broken.
I had this game as a kid. I'm probably the only person on earth that discovered a tackle glitch where you make players fumble with a gliding shoulder shiver uppercut 😂😂
Sports games had the best intros back then... I remember the NHL one and the '' are you afraid of the man in the mask?'' I played almost exclusively as the Lions in this game just to use Barry Sanders lol :)
The only football game I had on the PS1 was GameDay 99. I took a lot of it for granted; I didn't realize what an improvement it was from the previous year, and I had no idea GameDay 98 was the first football game with polygonal players.
Gameday 98 and 95 are still some of the best NFL games today imo. Graphics don't mean everything , the flow and response of the game and mechanics are most important. This was the 3D golden age imo , the physics made for happy natural accidents where as games today are just straight clinical boring simulation.
Dude I remember my cousin went to get some video games in 2001 or 2002 And we got Madden and NFL game Day I believe 2001 or 2000 and we played both alot and GameDay was miles ahead of Madden. Gameplay wise. I wish they were able to make this game still cause I believe they would make such a better game
@@tdizzle7812 Sorry, but no. Armstrong was drafted in 1987. While it is true that he did play RT, it was only from 1987-1989. By 1990, he was playing LT. The season before this was made would have been 1996, when he would have already been in his 7th season playing LT.
i used to think this game had the best graphics fast forward to today i feel old af
Yo….Jerome Bettis was unstoppable…this was a madden killer
And the juke was crazy!
Me too. With there box bodies
Still a fun game even now
I always blew my hamstring 😆

For some reason, the graphics for this game were so much better in my memories.
It was real. Our vision starting to go we old.
They looked so great for the time but yeah….😂😂😂😂…..Joey Galloway was a beast in this….Robert Brooks too….man we spent some late nights on this
@@94shotson40 I remember using Tim Biakabutuka as my work horse RB.

@@94shotson40 You were just working 15 years ahead of schedule, that’s all.
The stiff arms in this game were magical.
That shit surprised me 😂
this brings back so much nestalgia. I remember thinking OMG the voice announcer sounds REAL

That stiff arm was deadly
First game that I ever had on PlayStation. I played it so much !
Same here with road rash Christmas 97!!!
loved this game so much n that still are felt so good with the crowd going nuts afterwards
Better than Madden
Both were dope. I bought both. Them and NBA Live. All we needed.
This was the first football video game to feature all polygonal players
I had this game as a kid. I'm probably the only person on earth that discovered a tackle glitch where you make players fumble with a gliding shoulder shiver uppercut 😂😂
I know on gameday 97 you was able to spear. I did that to the computer all the time when they ran down the sideline. Fumbled 75% of the time lol
Use to love this game!
This game is sick AF
Classic
First football game i ever owned. Times were good back then.
Jampack demo!! Hell yeah!
Sports games had the best intros back then... I remember the NHL one and the '' are you afraid of the man in the mask?'' I played almost exclusively as the Lions in this game just to use Barry Sanders lol :)
That Dorsey Levens TD celebration @ 4:37 😂
😂😂😂😂
Fast forward to 7:02 for vinatieri attempting ridiculous 70 yard field goal
77 yards
I remember this game for the tackle sounds. Right after the snap

The juke move was OP! It was like a cheat move
that demo intro is etched in my mind
This was THE GAME that brought it all to what was to be!
I bought both. Madden and GameDay. Both were fun. All we did was play football (both games) and NBA live.
Arriving in the mail today. I can't wait.
Classic! 😃
Remember when these graphics looked good
Gameday had Madden this year
1st time I went to a friends house and saw game day i thought wow they look so real

imo this was the best football game of all time.
The announcer sounds the same as the one from NFL Xtreme 1!
Music to my ears, memories.
Best football game that I've played to date.
Hb Sweep used to go crazy, and pa qb roll out pass to crossing te on a 12 yard route automatic 1st down
The running lanes in this game was ridiculous
I tried telling my son this game HAD the best, most realistic graphics I had ever seen at the time….i even wonder if I was lying

Drew Bledsoe three years before Mo Lewis inadvertently changed the course of NFL history.
Was my favorite game for a long time!! Bledsoe had a cannon.
YES!! I started watching the Pats around 93-94 and Drew is still my fav player of all time, that's the guy who molded my love for the game.
I was unstoppable with Ricky Watters and the Eagles.
Yo was this the year when you were you’re a running back an when you truck somebody an a thunder bolt strikes down on the player?
Found this game in my dads ps1 disc collection. Never got to play it though
I played tf outta this game
It's crazy to think Brady played just after this and recently retired 🤣🤣
I should gotten this when first got my PS1.
Why did they have Bruce Armstrong (#78, Patriots, longtime left tackle) on the right?
He played RT in the season before this was made

when the announcer say THE BILLS
Can you change the camera view ? It’s too close ...
How would you get the player to dance after scoring a touchdown
Barry Sanders Jukes were sick in this game. It had a better running game than current Madden...SMH
Oh shit, its Drew Bledsoe.. I'm from Boston so I kno the struggle
I remember you couldn’t run at all on this game
Shit, I could
Stiff arm and juke
reminds me of nfl blitz
That juke & stiff arm use to be major
I remember having an argument about qb club 98 being better than this with a guy at work lol
Today's madden isn't much better 😂
So true
First to have wrap tackles
2024 👀
Remember when this looked real???lol
Hey, *****, *****, and *****, do you like the Playstation?
This was the Shit!!!!..
I played this game so much when I was 12 it’s insane
Best game of all time… better then madden
