Oj Simpson trial cost California $10 million in 1994. If you want to run with the big dogs (high priced attorneys) it’s going to cost money. they had their chance to offer a slap-on-the-hand plea deal, but they rolled the dice and taxpayers have to foot the bill. Don’t be naive, rich people get offered sweetheart plea deals all the time because they know they will spend whatever it takes for as long as it takes.

I agree that this is a cover up but not as much political as it is high ranking police. Why would it matter if any attorney gave the heads up to the FBI which btw wasn't allowed by Judge Cannone to be mentioned during trial? The jury had no idea.
Imo this isn't a who you know from lawyer to government but rather a history of shady police work that was finally noticed. Check out Sandra Birchmores case, somewhat relevant to Karens, some of the same players & same type of coverup.
@@r-e_mii The Federal investigation wasn't allowed to be mentioned because it would be too prejudicial AGAINST Karen Read. The FBI Public Corruption Unit spent a lot of money and resources investigating people who were NOT Karen Read and found no one else responsible for the crime she committed. If the jury heard that, they could easily assume Read was guilty. As much as the FKR folks want to believe how things affect the trial, they are wrong about almost all of it.
Karen Read could do the honorable thing, and admit her guilt, but she'd rather stick it to the taxpayers, and try her damndest to game the system.
