My grandmother wrote a Thanksgiving song...She was born in 1900 and had quite a sense of humor. Here is the song...(to the tune of "My Country, Tis of Thee"): My turkey tis' of thee...Sweet bird of cranberry...to thee we sing. I love thy breast and wings,...thighs, legs, and other things. My heart in rapture sings...sweet turkey bird. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone and thanks for the cheer.
I’m going with #1. My husband always got up early to go running and left me with dealing with relatives that started arriving as he drove away. I would then start drinking cuz, you know, relatives that brought their opinions with them to share like vol-au-vents. Thanksgiving, the day you are sooooo thankful when they all Uber away.
Thanksgiving was always the biggest Holiday for our family. We would all gather at my Grandmas house. There was always at least 30 people there in this small house. 9 months after Thanksgiving? Thats August? A lot of my extended family was born in August, and so was my Daughter.
Penn I gotta tell you…you reminded me of why I don’t emphasize thanksgiving and instead skip right into Christmas: my indigenous friends despise it. And that song shows. I say make a full version of song 1. You will get a ton of royalties.
The idea of Thanksgiving - not the history - makes it my favorite holiday. I finally see a time coming when I can start having that kind of holiday again... keeping one step in front of the other until I get there! May you all be safe, have loved ones near, and full tummies this Thanksgiving!
It's the same for kids' picture books. I shelve books at our local library and I display the Celebration picture books. I only had a handful of books about Thanksgiving to put out on display! But there are a million books on Christmas/Halloween/Easter.
@@Mama_Bear524 my kids, dad, my ex-husband is just exactly the same!😮😮😮😢 the kids told me it was my fault I’m the one that married him but I swear he wasn’t like that in the beginning. In the 70s…. And idk. Love can be REALLY BLIND 😢
Oh my gosh! I never realized that my birthday is 9 months after THANKSGIVING! My birthday is August 28th. And you're right, hardly anyone has that birthday. LOL! Thanks for giving me something to think about. (Yikes!) I love all your Thanksgiving songs, by the way.
Love them all so it's hard to pick. I do really like #1. We have people who do that turkey trot or the early class at the gym. They then spend all dinner telling us about it. 😻😁😻
HAPPY THANKSGIVING HOLDERNESS FAMILY!! Love Song, because no one feels sexy after cleaning, cooking, pacifying the guests, eating and drinking too much, doing the dishes and finding a place for the totally wasted to sleep! Burp-Hiccup, etc.
Canadian here: we had it last month but all kidding aside, driving tired is what killed my friend. His dad fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a tree
My cousin is the turkey trotter. I’ll get up stupid early and haul Christmas trees around the farm to try to be ready for selling to start the next day (and it helps with the one awful person who shows up WHILE we are eating thanksgiving dinner, to send them on their way quickly) but a 5k? I’m always glad to high five those who set personal bests.
I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but my kid was born August 24 and that was 41 weeks after Thanksgiving… LOL Love the turkey trotting though, that’s my favorite. 😁
As someone who is morbidly obese and definitely more in the relax and enjoy family camp... 5k isn't that far (at least to walk); I do it basically every day, and will probably do it on Thanksgiving morning. One of our dogs needs that to get his energy down to just a bit overehuberant.
I appreciate the first song. My family is very much dichotomous when it comes to such things. We have the runners and the boozers. Of course some are one in the same. You can still booze it up after a Turkey Trot. You cannot however do a Turkey Trot if you start boozing the moment you wake up.
Every seven years my birthday falls on Thanksgiving. I go all out and make a big meal for all my friends here when that happens. Oh and I live in Germany, so it only happens when they get off work and again, it only happens every 7 years. Hahaha.
#4 the distracted football killed me 😂 #5 really good beat. You could have been singing about paperclips and it still would have slapped And of course #8 dont drink and drive. Stay here and sleep or call an uber. I was just saying this to my nephew this past thanksgiving. Its a national holiday why dont we have more songs? Or play patriotic music? The whole absense of music from the holiday seems odd. Now we have a few more 😉
Correct! Very few babies born nine months after Thanksgiving BUT THREE of the four kids in my family were born nine months after Christmas! 😂😂😂 #christmasparties #theylldoiteverytime
Love them all! Thank you for thinking of some Thanksgiving songs!! Tied between #1 and #7 as my faves...although I love pie any ol' time of year, but maybe that's 'cause I live in sunny southern Cal where fruits are year-round yummy...just love the beat!

I wish I had known your grandma. ❤
This is amazing.
Penn needs to sing that! ❤️❤️❤️
__ Oh, so tender.
Grandma was a genius. I'll bet her holiday dinners still can't be beat.
It never ceases to amaze me how talented Penn is. So many different genres and topics!
For me *Alice’s Restaurant* _will _*_always_*_ be the song of Thanksgiving._
The pie song was my favorite! So funny with a good beat. 🥧🎶
I like the pie song! The keyboard part was the best, you could roller skate to that!
My grandma and grandpa had three babies over four years, all born 9 months after Thanksgiving!!! Apparently it was a sexy holiday for them 😂
These are all great! Please finish songs and we will all buy the album. Thanksgiving songs are a tradition that needs to happen.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need a Penn CD. Or Apple Music playlist. Whatever.
My daughter was a thanksgiving baby, lol. She was born on August 24th ❤
Nice! 🎉
As an avid runner and Turkey Trotter, love the first one! And yes, I'll be posting the pics in my turkey hat! All the songs are great!
Love the ol’ Turkey Trot

Hilarious and wonderful
My daughter was born in August too!
So many late August birthdays!!! Thanksgiving must be a sleeper romantic day.😂
These are all great! The one about pie is so true. Never do I ever, have a piece of pie, except on thanksgiving.
There are lots of mid to late august babies! I want a thanksgiving baby song 😛
Penn I gotta tell you…you reminded me of why I don’t emphasize thanksgiving and instead skip right into Christmas: my indigenous friends despise it. And that song shows.
I say make a full version of song 1. You will get a ton of royalties.

May you all be safe, have loved ones near, and full tummies this Thanksgiving!
My favorite is the pie song. You should make a whole song with that rhythm and beat.
That keyboard riff on the Pie Song was the entire 80's in 2 seconds.
It's the same for kids' picture books. I shelve books at our local library and I display the Celebration picture books. I only had a handful of books about Thanksgiving to put out on display! But there are a million books on Christmas/Halloween/Easter.
I love the one about the racist uncle, because I have a few!😂
My dad is the racist uncle. It’s sooooo uncomfortable
My family's version of that is the transphobic aunts. 😬 Not fun.
Yea. Sadly, we all might. We do anyway
Oh my gosh! I never realized that my birthday is 9 months after THANKSGIVING! My birthday is August 28th. And you're right, hardly anyone has that birthday. LOL! Thanks for giving me something to think about. (Yikes!) I love all your Thanksgiving songs, by the way.
My sister-in-law and my childhood best friend are both born on August 28th, too!
Aug 29 here shared with my cousin and 3 friends have Aug 30. Never thought about the Thanksgiving connection 😂
My favorite was the Pie song. However, they are all great! Thanks!
Those are fantastic! The pie song was my favorite, but the love song was oh so true. 8 glorious songs. Great job Penn!!
Tie between pie and turkey trot! Both so true!
Can we get a full song of tryptophan? That was awesome!
I am a fan of tryptophan also!
They're all amazing, and I need full versions of all of them. Please and thank you 🙏🏽😁
Im with Kim on "moist", and for the record, i loved the song about pie 😁🥧
I only have hubby n daughter for Thanksgiving. Shout out too all with big families
The Pie song is us! But all your renditions are great!
Now I’m immediately gonna look up 9 months from November … Sure I could add it myself, but I’m too lazy to do math early in the morning!! 😂
Me too! August 15.
My favorite is #7, The Pie Song. 🥧 🎵
Same
Fabulous! Loved them all 🦃😍
Canadian here: we had it last month but all kidding aside, driving tired is what killed my friend. His dad fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed into a tree

#7 give me some pie was AWESOME! 💙
1:25 That line was good *chef's kiss*.
Totally love the "I wasn't really listening" song. That's my favorite! Probably because I don't really listen to anyone's stories at holidays.
All are great but my favorite is PIE, PIE, PIE!
My favorite was the "I'm not listening" one lol🤣
I Like the one about Pie!!!
Alice's Restaurant is a great Thanksgiving song.
Thanksgiving Rain Check is great! 😂👍
I’m almost embarrassed to admit it, but my kid was born August 24 and that was 41 weeks after Thanksgiving… LOL
Love the turkey trotting though, that’s my favorite. 😁
You can never go wrong with pie. Pie!
ohhh the #7, the pie one!! and it's very catchy, I want more of it (the song, not the pie, just to be clear lol)!!!!
Number 7 PIE SONG!!! Penn can u make a long version of it????? Maybe naming all the different type of Pies?? PLEASE 😊
The pie song was a banger!
As someone who is morbidly obese and definitely more in the relax and enjoy family camp... 5k isn't that far (at least to walk); I do it basically every day, and will probably do it on Thanksgiving morning. One of our dogs needs that to get his energy down to just a bit overehuberant.
#7
Hands down the best one.
... now I know why we don't have Thanksgiving songs...
It's a toss up between the Trytophan song and the Rain Check. Love them all!
My favorite was sneaking to watch football. Now I’m ready for Christmas Jams.
Loved the #4 song about football. Pretty much happens in my house every Thanksgiving.
The pie one reminds me of Dean Winchester from Supernatural. He really loves pies!
Fun! Now here's #9 - Thanks be to God for all His gifts to us!
Kim: “Ew.” 😂
Write up #7 Pie into a whole song please 🥧
I appreciate the first song. My family is very much dichotomous when it comes to such things. We have the runners and the boozers. Of course some are one in the same. You can still booze it up after a Turkey Trot. You cannot however do a Turkey Trot if you start boozing the moment you wake up.
Lol. I am a fan of the pie song because we eat pie all of the time. On march 14 you have to do a pie day song 🥧 We love pie!!
They are all great. So creative.....and truthful. 😂
The first song is my favorite. ❤😊
5 had the best beat. 8 had the best message. Both were cool.
I love the techno riff at the end of the song about pie. I hope to hear more of that in your fun parodies and originals!
#7 - the pie song was my favorite
Song #1 was my favorite. 😂
Nice, but my all-time favorite will always be "All About That Baste!"
Oh and the asleep at 5:49! Hilarious 😂
Seven The PIE Song!
#5 is my favorite (along with the turkey and wine!)
Taylor and Travis can make ANYTHING romantic 😂🥰
🤣🤣🤣 awesome! Love 🦃 day
#5 is awesome! Very blink-182 sounding and deserves a full version!
Every seven years my birthday falls on Thanksgiving. I go all out and make a big meal for all my friends here when that happens. Oh and I live in Germany, so it only happens when they get off work and again, it only happens every 7 years. Hahaha.
3, 5 and 7 amused me the most!
Love and pie
9 months from now is August. My whole family is August and so is my daughter lol so Thanksgiving seems to be our love holiday 😂
I loved them all. Thanks for the laughs.
#4 the distracted football killed me 😂 #5 really good beat. You could have been singing about paperclips and it still would have slapped
And of course #8 dont drink and drive. Stay here and sleep or call an uber.
I was just saying this to my nephew this past thanksgiving. Its a national holiday why dont we have more songs? Or play patriotic music? The whole absense of music from the holiday seems odd. Now we have a few more 😉
I like the pie song. So true!
“Gi’me SOME PIE!”
I loved them all, especially the food songs! The stuffing one was great 😂
#5 was my favorite, with #7 as a close second!
Love the pie song and the 5K one.
Correct! Very few babies born nine months after Thanksgiving BUT THREE of the four kids in my family were born nine months after Christmas! 😂😂😂 #christmasparties #theylldoiteverytime
August is the most popular birth month.
@@tracy3418 - Really? 🤭 I stand corrected! September was the popular birth month in my family. ❤️
@@MrsParksIsInTheHouse September is very popular too! July though October are very popular months.
Give me some pie is so true & the song was banging!!! I'll take a full version please.
My daughter was born 9 months after Thanksgiving. I got married on Thanksgiving weekend.
"It's Thanksgiving" by Nicole Westbrook is a classic
Gonna need to hear a full version of the pie song....
The tryptophan song is my favorite. We have all been there. 🙂
You are an amazing writer and performer. Your videos make my day.
Love them all! Thank you for thinking of some Thanksgiving songs!! Tied between #1 and #7 as my faves...although I love pie any ol' time of year, but maybe that's 'cause I live in sunny southern Cal where fruits are year-round yummy...just love the beat!
I like the thanksgiving love song too. And songs 3-8 are pretty good lol
Penn you are a genius!!!!! All of them are great. I think I like the uber one the best.
I like the new wave vibe of #2 and the dance party vibe of #7.
Loved them all! Y’all are creative! But my favorite was the Tryptophan song! Something about the music & of course it’s sooo true!!
Talented! ❤ Thanks for the all the laughs. Happy Thanksgiving ❤❤❤
I love #1. So true, and I am not the runner (because I’m too busy cooking😂). #2 is great as well!
Allison's Restaurant by Arlo Guthrie my family listens to that song every year before the Detroit Lions game
The tryptophan song and the pie song are my favorites.
I like the stuffing song, it made my hubby laugh😂
My 12 year old hates the word moist too! And flesh. And definitely those two words together.
Pie song definitely
