And here I am, thinking I’m the only modern person I know who rejects the usury system. Really glad to see someone talking about this elephant in the room. There is a company that pioneered the private car lease called “Half a car”. It was all a plan to sell the same car twice.

Money is a proxy for time and time is a proxy for life.... Usery is a claim on somebody's future money which equates to their future life... stealing someone's life is generally considered bad..
The Constitution empowers the Congress to "mint coin and currency & set the value thereof" and they've Abdicated their Obligation to provide this critical function. The original Colonies created their own script and the Colonies flourished !$
Old Ben Franklin even went so far as to say it was the principle cause of the American Revolution as opposed to the claim that the main cause was "Taxation without Representation". Notice the switch in the History Books kids get taught in school? In 1979-80, I was an AP History student in high school trying to figure out why the creation of the First & Second Central Banks chartered by the US Congress in the early years of the Republic were so controversial. It was a mystery. I finally got the answer when I got into my late 50's. It turns out the Bank of England (chartered in the 1690's) was directing King George III to force the American Colonies to get rid of their script and only borrow from the BOE. So, that would explain why Central Banks were so controversial, we fought arguably two wars with England over their establishment in the USA.
Usury, the sin, comes under moral Theology, contracts, virtue of justice. Money is, by first definition, a representation of wealth. A community must control the issue and regulation of it's money, say with a Money Commission, staffed by public servants. These would be permanent staff accountable to the community. Money supply would be based on existing wealth of the community.
Do you believe the evil in some methods of profit (such as usury) is inherent, or is the evil discovered and taken advantage of? Or: do you believe usury was evil before it was written to be haram/sin/treif?
I think it is a type of inherited evil. Something cultures pass down. And I think it is primarily found in the offering of the devil when he showed Christ all the kingdoms of the world, looking down from the heights, and said "You can have all of this..." That is the heart of usury I think. It isn't so much that you take some off the top (thought that's nasty), it's that really, you are trying to own and control and usury is the fastest way to your dreams. It's a ephemeral, gnostic shortcut to power. And it objectifies the one who takes the loan. Something like that... at the core. I think.
Hi, This world is filled with filth, If you and your children can not handle a few words you consider cursed then you need to go hide under a rock. I listen with my kids as well, Shelter them from things like porn and perversion, A few "bad" words that are used as an exclamatory is just part of life. Usury is every where and every one is promoting it, Our homes are being over run, Or lives are being destroyed... Every thing is being stolen from those who earned it, I have been speaking about this for about 30 years now, Feel free to take a look at World Truth Videos if you are ready for the truth.

You're not, we gotta step up and make our own Orthodox financial system. It's doable.
It's nuts when you really step back. It's like a 300 year old ponzi scheme. I'm kinda scared. What up DPR!? You good?
