I always bring earplugs when comping because even if there isn't street noise, then there's the sound of insects and other animals or rain banging on something that can keep you up.
I'm going there this week. I think the car noise was a little loud for you since you are visiting when there are no leaves on the trees. I will post how it was for me. Price was right at $15 plus fees. Anything else near here you prefer?
@@OutWithMyGear For my taste the highway noise was not bad. The Taconic Parkway is too small for trucks so I really didn't hear much. Between the lush vegetation and the wind it felt pretty normal to me as far as noise disturbance. It's not like being in Death Valley or anything, but overall I was very happy with this campground and I slept fine. Great bathrooms, nice isolated sites with lots of character and variety, and a reasonable price for an otherwise expensive area.
@Shanua Rodriguez im also planning a trip with 2 other friends. We plan to bring our own tents. So 3 tents in one campsite. Couldn't find anywhere on the website if there's a limit for tents per campsite. do you know anything about it? and which campsite would you recommend/stayed?
@@fernandapierotti3378 Hi. 3 tents is possible but it also depends on the size of tents and the plot size as well as flat enough ground. I had a tent large enough for a full size air mattress and my friend had a size for a single. It was possible to put another tent but with the additional set ups like the picnic table grill and fire pit, things might get tight
Are you kidding me? The road is mountainous and very wavy. I have NEVER heard trucks or cars near any site I have rented. It's on the side of a mountain for Christ sakes. If you want just birds and waterfalls go to the aplilation trail (like this guy seams to be used to) This is a nice place to see beavers and other wildlife. This is a bullshit review.

which campsites would you recommend that are large and secluded
I recommend campsite # 31 harry up. Fahnestock will be closed on 11/19 ☹
thanks for mentioning the noise. That is a deal breaker for me too.
I guess that's why they only charge $15 per night.

Ive been there during summer as well and it wasn't much different noise-wise. Not sure what else is around there but let us know how it went.

Too close to NYC. It's packed with people in the summer.
in the fall is much better not to many people
...if you think a hundred miles is close.
How much did you pay for the campsite?
Just booked, its 19$ per night... After taxes and fees 2 Nights was 45$
