Today I went to one of my favorite parks, Bear Mountain State Park! I've been coming to this park since I was a kid and always have the best time. There are so many activities to do here, you will never get bored!

I use to go to this park with my family and relatives when i was a kid and I still remember this park. It brings back so many wonderful memories especially the big pool that everyone can swim in. They also have plenty of places to barbecue/grill.

I got engaged at the Bear Mountain Lodge on Christmas Eve in 1983.

Thank You for this and your smile. Used to go as a child back in the 60s. Remember as you go in able to go up the mountain. Enjoyed that the most hiking with many others or family. Also remember foot paddling boat rentals on the lake and a swimming pool. I don't recall a museum. Went in summer time 😁 memories ☺️

Yeah the problem with the place is all the city people come up and trash the place during the summer. City people ruin a lot of places up here.
Cities in general are not my favorite, too much pollution. I always try to influence people to keep our parks as clean as possible because without them, there isn't much clear air left to breathe :/

You wouldn´t expect such great place just a few miles from NYC! It reminds me a bit of the lakes and mountains here Killarney, Ireland. The bridge across the Hudson at Bear Mountain looks similar to me as the Brooklyn Bridge in New York. I liked the bald eagle in the vid; it is a symbol of the U.S. and a beautiful animal. I often watch the live webcam of an bald eagles nest at Big Bear Valley in California. Btw, have you been to Poughkeepsie before? It´s a nice little town north of Bear Mountain and well known as a weekend resort for New Yorkers.
You know, I think I've only driven through it! But I'll definitely check it out after my summer job when I'm back in that area! And right! Its so beautiful there!

Why is the state park called Bear Mountain State Park?
It's called bear mountain but I put state park in the title because that's what it is

Nope, it was just very dark in there and I was able to open it fully to a 1.4 aperture to get that nice blur. Wayy to bright every where else there that that day and i didn't have my ND filter on me lol
