It's kind of a sad irony that as Tom became the best character in the show, everyone else just got worse, including the main characters lol.
To add to the irony, the creator said that Tom was based off of all of her ex-boyfriends.

Yeah in my opinion Eclipsa, Globgor, Tom, Stars dad, Heckapo, and Janna where the only few good ones everyone else was either A forgotten or irrelevant or B just downright awful.
As someone with anger issues… I think faulting him so much for still feeling angry is completely unfair. He can’t control being angry. He can’t control having feelings! But he can control what he does with that anger. And he’s trying! He has the life coach and the buny and he’s honestly trying. And well- he’s 14(?), he’s bound to fail a lot at first. It’s shitty to call him out for petting the bunny when he was getting mad- he’s trying to control it! To keep himself in check. That is a good thing!!
Do you know how many people like us are afraid to be seen as monsters. We have a problem/ a difficulty and we just need a little help and encouragement and guidance.
Honestly curse aside its hard to fault Tom in BMB to me, he really wanted to show star he was getting better and he even oppressed his own culture to make the ball more enjoyable for her, making his own people angry at him because of how much he toned everything down for her sake.
He's clearly trying hard to make things comfortable for her and make this night perfect to prove himself and at the end of the day star wasn't pleased, his people weren't pleased, and he didn't even get to do the dance he was looking forward to.
Its understandable He's feeling frustrated, he's a kid and he can't be expected to handle his anger so easily. But he clearly tries hard to calm down.
I honestly think its great hes not shown to be instantly "fixed" and instead we see him progress over time instead due to the support of his friends and his own efforts.
Tom absolutely could've handled his actions better in the beginning but yes, there's nothing wrong with him for having these issues .
He's doing his best and he does learn, and thats admirable.
Showing him like this to where he ends up is nice to watch, that kinda visual progress is great.
I was so disappointed in Starko because I just want a female and male lead of a show just STAY close friends.
Seriously we need to normalize platonic friendships between guys and girls.

I am just SO sick of series where the male and female leads ALWAYS ending up together! What is so wrong with having a platonic friendship in a show? Or hell why not an asexual lead character, male or female who isn’t interested in *anyone* during the series and stays that way throughout?

Like have married/dating couples but why does the lead ALWAYS have to be involved in some weird variation of “will they, won’t they”? It gets old real fast and is the reason I gave up on Miraculous because that show’s romance has dragged its feet worse than a mafia victim 😤😤😤
@@LadyLeomon well some drama for a reasonable time frame like a season can be good if written WELL (which middle school crush drama is not good writ) but almost no show follows through and develops a healthy relationship which is the OTHER half of this problem. It goes from seasons upon season of will they won't they to not an actual spoiler they will, to "oh no now that we're dating after years of friendship I no longer know how to talk to you and I'm going to believe this bully who has hated us for years and or this random stranger and were breaking up........oh wait it was a miscommunication that being best friends for years I never should have believed.......whoops guess we just date like nothing happened " like.......bruh.......
I know this will probably sound like an unpopular opinion, here, but I think that the reason that some approve of the main male and main female character, of whom happen to be best friends (particularly if they are around the same age) to be in a romantic relationship at the end is because some people want to imagine having that special someone that is not only their girlfriend/boyfriend, but thay they were already close with each other prior to that. For example, a lot of guys who get romantically involved with a girl, are not likely already to be best friends with them from the start. Usually they have another guy friend whose helped they with most of their social and emotional experiences, growing up. Eventually that guy will come across a girl who they learn to get to know her, just as a general friend, and then maybe he may start a romance with her if things go in that direction; she was never his best friend to begin with, and may not likely ever reach that status. The most personal he'll get with her on an emotional level thoughout his life is being a close friend. However if that same girl grew up with that guy, being his primary emotional and social supporter as his genuine friend, as he grew up, and by chance they had such a strong bond that virtually nothing could ever truly destroy it, they may reveal that they've developed feelings for each other. This itself can be extremely rewarding for both parties, especially in the emotional department. It can lead to less drama whenever they come across potential conflicts with each other, as they would have already had a deep understanding of each other, than if they were just a typical hetero couple. I know this comment has been written messy, but this is just how I personally feel about this topic.
I really liked TomStar but knew in the back of my mind that it was doomed to fail. Tom deserved better
It was only boomed to fail because the creator wanted it to fail so that they could make Starco canon.
Same, but as you know, a captain always goes down with their own ship. Man I just wish they could’ve taken the platonic Starco route with Tomstar being a thing(or heck Tomco being a thing instead too).

@@0Magicallywild0 exactly. TomStar had a lot more chances to just be an endgame, and the inconsistent writing is a proof that they just pushed really hard to make it fail.

I would be ok for TomStar if it wasnt for two things:
1)Star being straight up toxic (seriously being mad that Tom talked to his mom is such a red flag for abusive behaviour)
2)He and Marco had such a better chemistry together
Tom had better chemistry with both Star and Marco than Star and Marco had together. He brought the best out of them (until Star and Marco became shittier people in Season 4) while Starco brought the worst out of each other once they stopped being purely platonic.
I think ultimately what makes this and the Starco relationship fail is that the show refused to make Star own her actions. The way she dicked around both Marco AND Tom when it was obvious to everyone who had a brain cell what she really wanted really sunk the credibility of her as a character or a romantic partner. I’ve said this in the past, but a vast majority of my complaints with how they handled the shipping in the show would be forgiven if they had just made*apologize throughout the show for how she treated Michael and Tom respectively. She is a teenager. She’s far from perfect. She should not be expected to make perfect decisions every single time. But the very least she could do is own her screwup‘s, which the show failed to make her do.
If there was a movie based off the show,I would rather have Star finally grown to learn and reflect on her own mistakes and overcome her past demons,along with apologizing for everyone for acting the way she did throughout the series and making amends. She should’ve told Tom how much she horribly treated him back in Season 4. I feel Star should’ve gone back to Earth and Marco's place for a few months of training after defeating Toffee in Season 3,so her experience on Earth should've humbled and changed her a lot more ,since Star's selfishness was due to being spoiled in her royal life by her parents and the guards who raised her,since she was the top of everyone and can act rude and ornery at times and I feel Star returning to Mewni made her even more reckless,selfish, and mean in the later seasons(much like how Brian became more of a douchebag in Family Guy after being brought back from his death in Season 12). That's the reason she acted like a crappy,horrible girlfriend to Tom,especially in Club Snubbed and Lake House Fever.

The fact that they FORGOT about him in the realm of magic, like yeah people can excuse that the high stakes made them not see who was missing in their group, but I would had thought if not Star, HIS GF, Marco would had realised sooner than later than Tom was missing! I remembered feeling so shocked that they only remembered him when they RETURNED to the realm and he was already messed up, like WHAT?! Tom was really underappreciated in the show.

Not Star, Marco, Janna, or hell, any of the ADULTS realized the obvious! The most we got with that was when Janna was at Eclipsa's castle and was like, "Marco? Star? Tom?", and that was it until Cleaved. I don't know how Tom doesn't hate Star at this point. She was honestly a terrible girlfriend! I know they were apart by the time Cleaved happened, but still. And yeah, with the terrible girlfriend thing, Lake House Fever is a perfect example of that! Tom heard the kiss from his BEST FRIEND, Marco, not his own GIRLFRIEND, Star. And yet she had the nerve to get mad at him?! In the words of Jacksepticeye, I call bullshit on that! But seriously, that line in Cleaved pisses me off to this day, lol. I'll be honest, when Star and Tom started dating again i immediately thought that if they break up again this time Tom will be the one to dump Star since she dumped him the first time that they dated. and lo and behold that's exactly what happened.
Tom is a top greatest character in this Godforsaken series, the poor man deserved so much better!

In full honestly it’s crazy how the writers go through so many loops for a ship that didn’t need to happen and the two with the most potential (Tomstar and Kelco) were just unceremoniously booted and sunken in universe that it’s just plain insulting.
Tom’s too good for her... and Marco’s too good for her... and so on and so forth
I woulda been super happy if either Kellco or Tomco were endgame, although it was obvious the writers were gonna force starco.

Tomstar seemed Really good when the relationship tried again.... BUT then the writers made Star an Asshole to Tom just so that they could Shoo in Starco. Demon Boi needs better, maybe if "Things were Written better" We would've gotten one of the followiing (which i would have been fine with):
1. a Decently Written and Maintained Jarco and Tomstar
2. a Decently Written Tomstar and Kellco
3. Bloody Hell even a Decently Written STARCO would be good if it wasn't the fact the writers dragged it on till like 3 episodes before the Finale before starting the ship
(4. a nicely written Markapoo and Tomstar but that's just me)
It's almost as though Daron Nefcy herself is a shitty writer herself. And if your fans can come up with a better plot than the actual creator themselves, then that says something about them as not just a writer, but also a person in general. I was a Starco shipper, and I stuck with it until before the last season of the show. Yet I grew sick and tired of feeling like I was being jerked around by the writers. I knew it was obvious that Marco and Star would get together, but they kept on dragging it out, creating dumb and needless drama to stretch things out. Annoyed even more when the writers gave credence to the idea that Marco and Star had been cursed by the Blood Moon, invalidating all of their chemistry and their growing feelings for each others by putting into question whether any of it was real or not. For the writers to then have Star get back together with Tom despite her saying just an episode before that she wasn't looking for a boyfriend, but a friend. This being after she went back to Mewni, with Marco staying on Earth.
Admittedly, I wasn't really happy with the writing of the last two seasons, particularly the last season and the shown final. I loved the show, and then the writers ruined it for me.
I shipped Starco in Season 1 and in season 2. I stopped shipping them my after a certain episode in season 3. I don't remember what episode though.
That was the reason I gave up on Miraculous, it just dragged on *FOREVER!* Hell they still don’t know (as of me writing this) despite their little magical sidekicks each KNOWING who the other is ... so many “are you for f*cking real?!” moments could’ve been avoided had the magical wotsits just said something to their respective partners in private after the fact 😤😤😤
I mean the real answer here should have been TomCo. But for Disney purposes I really feel like TomStar and KelCo was a good dynamic that could have been written to work out
I remember when episodes were still coming out and someone said something that really stuck with me. Something along the lines of "I'm really glad they're taking a different direction with starco, as in they're *platonic soulmates* " while talking about the blood moon and tomstar vs starco...Yeah I really hopped on that train. I've never liked starco because "uh uh they're the main characters and they're different genders THEY CAN'T JUST BE FRIENDSSSSS WAAAAA" I am SO TIRED OF IT and I was SO READY for this show to be DIFFERENT but No. Fucking No. They scattered So many relationships and characters just to get starco endgame. The only good thing to come from the end of this show is Toffee being right. Love the rapter god man.
THIS. I wasn't into Svtfoe at the beginning because I kinda found Star overly hyperactive for me to watch, but I gave the show a chance and LOVED the dynamic between (platonic) Star and Marco! I don't mind if the main boy girl friends end up together in a show, IF it was written well and there was something going on FROM THE START. Marco and Star were presented as FRIENDS, and a main boy girl friendship staying that way instead of being more was so revolutionary in tween shows back in the mid 2010s.
But of course, when we get further into the show, that's when I knew they were beginning FORCE them together, no more fun friend whacky hijinks adventures, just them being angsty and stringing people (Jackie and Tom, I have NO idea what they were thinking about Kelley being Marco's "rebound pg for kids hookup") along, it was infuriating to see them pine for each other (with the writers' poor excuse of their downgrade in characters - "teenagers are dumb!") when the lore had SO much more to offer, at that point, I just stayed for Eclipsa.
I agree. Like Star and Marco as just friends was one of the strongest parts of the show because the pulled it off so well. The moment they raised the idea of them having romance it just felt like they were doing it because they “had to”
Personally I would say Tomstar is a pretty good relationship later on. Since Tom at the start of the series has a lot of anger issues including being stupidly obsessive over star but when that’s over and done with he becomes very mature and to the point where I think he’s deserving to be in a relationship with star. The only thing I hate is how they ended the relationship, because I know deeply they could’ve done way better on ending the ship.🤔🐱

I don't ship Tomco, but I see the appeal and the chemistry behind it.
TomStar was probably my favorite of the pairings we see, just because I like what they did with Tom, and the fact that apart from Kelly and Marco, it felt like they actually to some extent liked eachother. (I say extent because I'm still not fully sure that star actually liked him the second time)
Plus it was just so satisfying seeing Tom be the one to dump Star, and outgrow the relationship.
It's just a shame that they didn't use that opportunity on Star's part to reflect and actually start working on herself. Like you can't tell me that Starco actually worked given Star and Marco's track record with relationships, I'm willing to bet that they broke up a couple of weeks after the series finale.

Those kissing styles that Marco mentioned are REAL types of kissing, for example, the "Polynesian Style" is supposedly making out while the woman gives you a handy. Thank google for that...
Tomstar was good it was about trying to be a better person and change but the marco Tom ship was the one we deserved 👌

And yet while Tom not only apologized for his behavior but also actively worked to improve himself, Star was allowed to remain ignorant of her behavior and not have to accept any responsibility. 😡

Like she could've just said "I should've told you but I was so afraid you'd be mad" and then they could've had like a bonding moment, because Tom clearly was in control of his emotions. Star could've been taken aback and had an epiphany about how much Tom's actually matured since they started dating again. but nope that would require the show to have Star own her actions.
I swear like 80% of the character problems in this show would've been solved if Star could just apologize for her actions. It's not bad that she didn't tell Tom about the kiss at first. It's bad that she got mad at him for calling her out on it.
And I guarantee you they didn't do it that way to specifically set up the Blood Moon episode which ended up being trash.

I don't think she was intentionally malicious or toxic, but sometimes you can become that without realizing it, and a genuine apology to Tom (and let's face it, Marco too cuz she dicked him around) would've gone a long way to making this not be as frustrating as it was.
Well, about that. I see that Tomstar is hated by Starco fans and in opposite. Even if I actually started to like both of them, if just realized that both are bad because of toxic fandom. And only wise decision was to make Tomco canon, because both fandoms like it

i NEVER rooted for Starco. i saw them as friends, siblings even! like for real! i saw me and my best friend as these two. i rooted for Tomstar all the way because he actually worked on himself and they just seemed to be better for one another! this show jus bothers me so much towards the end

No, tomstar was basically there just to prolong starco so they could hold the "will they / won't they" tension of starco over our heads for longer
It was not, to be quite honest, really a good ship by itself. Star just isn't an attentive girlfriend and Tom doesn't bring out the more responsible side of her unlike (pre battle for mewni) Marco did.
Incompetent writing at its finest.

Short answer: no.
Long answer: It doesn't work because, like everything else in this godforsaken mess of a show, bad character writing. At the beginning, Tom was a controlling, abusive prick that Star (rightfully) wouldn't give the time of day. Sure, she went to the Blood Moon Ball with him, but that was mostly out of it being her only chance to go, and she didn't know what Tom was planning or knowing Marco would be showing up. Tom only started to make the push towards bettering himself after him and Marco bonded and he gave Tom genuinely good advice. Star made no effort to help him, and even kissed Marco behind her boyfriend's back, then got mad at him for telling his mom and causing her to lose trust with Star. Then there was running off to spend time with Marco and making excuses not to see Tom, who handled all this surprisingly well. And considering Starco ended up happening at the end, they would have broken up at some point anyways. Actually it makes it even worse because it implies Star never lost feelings for Marco and was just using Tom to tell herself otherwise. Sure, things probably would have ended differently if Marco hadn't suddenly shown back up at the castle in season 3, but still. Basically, Tom deserved better, and Star is too emotionally immature and destructive for a relationship. Funnily enough, Tom and Star's initial breakup was the catalyst for the entire series, since Star was still emotionally distraught from a bad breakup when she received her wand on her (not) birthday (still hate how they retconned that into being Stump Day since it was pointless and causes a bunch of inconsistencies), though whether or not this was a good thing depends on your view.

I personally have a love/hate thing with TomStar, because Tom deserved better after he improved himself, but I also like the idea/concept of TomStar. _Star_ was the real problem in the end. At least Tom _actually_ saw his faults and issues and wanted to change, both for himself and Star. Star refused to see that _she_ was the problem. It _could've_ worked if they handled it right. 😟
I hated that they left Tom in the relm of magic AND DIDN'T THINK OF HIM ONCE.
My thoughts on this are as follows, I understand the problems people can have with Tom in his first true appearance in the series but I think its hard to entirely compare it to a love potion situation.
Originally the idea of the moon was presented as "if you get picked you are meant to be" or at least something along those lines. Which regardless of how bad it was, is at least understandable as to why tom Originally didn't see the issue? Tom is essentially a friendless loser seeking companionship and star was confirmed to kinda be his first and only friend. So losing her clearly upset him, so it kinda seemed part of him was desperate to have it back and he thought maybe if the moon picked him it meant they really were made for each other and reassure him.
Because it's not like tom is really trying to trick her, he doesn't hide what the moon does at any point from her nor is there some master plan to get picked.
Its just " we go to a dance and maybe we get told we're made for each other".
Tom's just as guilty as pretty much everyone who attended that ball with a partner.
In s4 they go back on this and then sorta treat it as a force, which feels like a result of the fans because the show had the moon seemingly disrupt jarco and push the cheating-esq kiss which made the fans feel like the curse was forcing their relationship. A problem the writers caused THEMSELVES. And then went back on so who even knows anymore.
If they just stuck to the idea the curse meant the dancers were meant to be it would still not be great, but a lot less odd for why Tom glanced over it.
The curse definitely feels like it was rewritten between seasons. Which makes it hard to really get mad at Tom because the curse in s1 and in s4 don't feel like the same intended curse.
But regardless Tom was a teenager with emotional issues and terrible social skills, and his family certainly sees no problem with the blood moon so I see it as at least understandable he didn't recognize the problem till much later when other sources talked about it with him.
In terms of the shop itself? Should we root for them in the canon? No
Do I think they would've made a far better endgame that provided both development for star and tom, would've tied far better into the main story, and overall could've shown exs getting back together in a healthy way? Oh yeah
Tomstar was full of potential to be really good and thanks to the curse not happening they could have a natural development, they made far more sense thematically and the only reason they ended up how they did was because the crew couldn't let go of starco.
So we got a potentially super interesting couple that the show tries desperately not to have us root for, and gives us a couple that's so incredibly toxic that it WANTS us to root for instead. 😒
Tomstar had a lot going for it and if the team just went for it we could've had something great with them, it would've been genuinely unexpected and made the show stand out.
But no, we need to break them up for the toxic, less interesting, main character ship, so here's star being toxic af.
I think we should of rooted for what they could've and should've been and it hurts they wasted it when it definitely would've been 10× better then what we got.

True in every clip the characters use the word choose meaning just because Tom and Star Dance under it doesn't necessarily mean it would have chose them

Tom is actually half-demon. He's a hybrid, something which doesn't happen all too often. Also, don't hire incompetent writers just because you're too lazy to do it yourself. That's just ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.
Tom won me over in his first episode. When I know that I'm supposed to hate certain character, I fall in love with them instead. I knew he's going to change overtime and I rooted for him. Tomstar was my OTP and I was really happy when they got back together. Exes to Lovers? I love that trope, when written properly. And then Star screw up... or rather the writers screw up. Star was an awful girlfriend, their break up wasn't properly build up and Starco emerged so quickly as if their were cheating on Tom behind his back since Tom and Star started dating again. Not to mention Marco and Star did kiss (when she was in a relationship with Tom!) and they didn't tell Tom about this! They were forced to kiss, yeah. But they weren't forced to keep it a secret! Star was Tom's girlfriend, Marco was his friend-Tom would have understand! He did understand, when Marco told him that during the fight with Meteora! Despite everything I still hoped that Tom and Star would be a suprise endgame. When he broke up with her, I finally understood that he deserves someone better. I still ship them more than Starco, but now in the fanon works. Fanon > Canon

I feel like Tom and Meteora could’ve had an arc together, or some type of relatability with each other. Considering they both have a Mewman parent and a monster parent. They’re both mixed, and are in a royal family. Could’ve been a really interesting concept, it had a lot of potential.

They might have had a shot if he had come clean about the Blood Moon Ball thing earlier when they decided to run it back, but he was too afraid she'd dump him again and allowed the problem to fester.

I never liked The Great Gatsby. I was so bored while reading it. All I got from it was "Man with an incredibly boring life spends time around his new neighbor, who is also boring." I legitimately wish the story was told in flashback, as his army buddies discuss their time in the service while mourning his passing. Throw in a mystery about whether or not Gatsby was really a hero or a saboteur, and leave it up to the reader to examine the evidence for themselves. Call it personal preference.
so about the episode where star got mad tom told his mom: she was still in the wrong for getting angry and never planning to tell him and all that BUT! there are notable consequences of tom telling his mom and never giving star a heads up of any kind that said mom will be cross with her. I didn't watch the episode [stopped watching... somewhere... wasn't really watching the series in the first place but still like these kinds of episodes on youtube] but with how they seem to have framed it they went with the wrong thing to be mad about. star would've been notably more reasonable in this situation if she basically said "it's one thing you didn't bring it up when you found out, it's another thing for me to find out your mom now probably hates me for ever without any warning" especially because that can *seriously* mess up relations between countries [or the equivalents there of]. doesn't matter how level headed the parent is, there's still a chance they'll at least make snide remarks when dealing with the parent of the brat that 'cheated' on their own child

I mean to be fair I was open to the idea of them at least fixing their friendship in season 2 after Mr. Candle Cares and so I didn’t think it was a bad idea at the beginning. But honestly just like the other ships in the show, it comes down to execution and I wasn’t a fan of how these two were executed in season 3 onwards as them getting together just felt like a repeat of season 2 in terms of the romance but instead switching the roles. And the way the 2 got together was off and just so sudden that it just felt that it wasn’t going to really stick especially if they actually did have intention of making Starco canon.
Which in that case, why bother putting TomStar in if that’s true? Why not just have Star and Marco just smoothly transition to growing their feelings and eventually just let them date for the rest of the show? And it doesn’t help how as the long Star and Tom stay together, the way the characters start to act is odd to say the least (I personally don’t think she is like “terrible” or “horrible” but I do believe the way she was behaving in certain scenes were so off to watch, Lake House Fever an example)
Overall to answer the question, like all the other ships in the show, yes at a point in time but honestly now, I would say no just again on how poor the execution was.
I was open to idea of them having something rekindled or maybe possibly dabbling into their romance even when I was actively shipping Starco (I’m a multi shipper) but because of how it was done and how the characters were written, I kinda started to not really like them but honestly that’s how I started to felt about all the ships period by the shows end.
But that’s my opinion and how I feel :)
Star Tom and Marco are in my opinion the definition of something I call "Ship War that would have easily been solved in a single episode by a trouple" it's actually pretty common, but SVTFOE is one of the most outrageous examples.

Imagine if at the end both Star and Marco were forced to stay on their own dimensions. Star would probably get back with Tom eventually and a lot of years in the future she could be rulling a kingdom of mewmans and monsters with a monster husband, just like Eclipsa. She could be telling the story of her adventures on earth to her kids and tell them all about her human best friend Marco. It would be a more realistic and bittersweet ending.

At some point in the series I started rooting for starco, but not because I didn't like tomstar, it was because I felt like star wasn't giving enough, and Tom just kept giving, and giving. I just felt like Tom deserved better. He deserved someone who would respect him as much as he respected star.
Also, I really hated that in the last few episodes, the show completely forgot about Tom! Hes one of my favorite characters and so I was not very happy with that

TomStar should have been the end goal. Nefcy destroyed her own show just to shoehorn in her favorite ship. Star and Moon should have stayed queen and princess, they NEVER should have destroyed magic, and Tom shouldn't have dumped Star out of nowhere.
beyond stomco tomstar was definitely the best thing the series has to offer, mostly because of tom cause star really sucked at being a good gf, the way she was casual with marco didnt fit with her relationship with tom and that made her such an asshole when the demon guy was just trying to be nicing and supportive for once

I could never bring myself to root for TomStar, not just because of what Tom did in the past and/or how Star treats him in the future but because it was preventing Tom's character from going forward. Him and Star's relationship was presented as bad from the begining and that they broke up for a reason. Tom using the Blood Moon and a pyscologist to get Star back together with him was too far; you can even argue that it's his fault that Starco, especially for people who don't like that ship either, was his fault too because of how the Blood Moon may have impacted some of Star and Marco's decision making when it came to feelings with each other and quite possibly others. Tom's character only works if he moves past his feelings for Star; I'm not saying they couldn't be friends mind you but they shouldn't have been a couple again. Star only used him as a rebound guy because Marco was dating Jackie and later Kelly at the time but she should have never revealed to Marco that she had a crush on him at the end of season 2 or even use Tom like that if he was tring to change himself fro the better; what's worse is she never gets called out on some of her past indiscreations with Tom and Marco.

There are 3 main reasons why Starco was endgame and not Tomstar.
1. They are the main leads.
2. Star was Daron's self-insert and Marco was based on her husband. So of course they were the intended endgame. It's like how in Gravity Falls, Dipper was Alex Hersch's self-insert and Mabel was based on his sister.
3. Daron based Tom on all of her ex-boyfriends' worst traits, so he and Star were never going to end up together.
That's petty af. Self-insert or not. I heard somewhere that Amity from The Owl House was a bit of a self-insert as well for the creator (I forget her name rn) but, she _still_ made Amity her own character, and not entirely based off herself. So Daron needs to learn from her.

Interesting video, only hiccup I noticed is you calling out the monsters for not leaving Mewnie sooner, that's kind of like asking the Native Americans why they didn't move to another country if they don't like how they are treated. The lands used to belong to monsters, it's their home, humans (who later became Mewmans) were the pioneers who took over the monster's land. They got forcibly relocated but remained in Mewnie, because they know it was rightfully their world first.

In fact, I think him trying to trick Star into being stuck with him means he probably shouldn't end up with her in the end. It's kinda the only way to be sure he really ended up better.
