@@ShrapnelBandOfficial Mate, you gotta give their latest album, Shrine, a spin. They leveled up in every way! Just to give credit where credit is due, I thought the clean vocals on this track was surprisingly good also. Not many good clean singers in metal out there honestly 🤷🤘

Hmmm. The new singer has clearly taken centre stage and certainly has the chops for it but it does really seem like the music itself is just providing a backdrop for him to show what he can do.
Awesome track/mix + musicianship from everyone! ⬇Also think some people below may have forgotten that evolving is a huge part of being an artist (unless you're literally stuck or forced to play the same style over & over). Where would be now if bands like The Beatles just stayed playing things like "Twist and Shout" instead of moving over to creating things like "Tomorrow Never Knows"? Or if Metallica just kept putting out records like Kill 'Em All (some people would actually love that).. but point is evolution is good and so is diversity. More music for everyone to listen to if they aren't into the other stuff and vice versa.
W.A.S.P. evolved their sound without losing what made them compelling in the first place. Same with Motörhead and Ramones. Changing your sound to what's trending isn't evolution, it's disingenuous cashing in on the trend.
Changing entire genre’s isn’t just evolving. It’s a smack in the face of the fans who were onboard up til now. It’s a measured decision to piss in their faces for more a more universally accepted sound.
from thrash to metalcore dont get me wrong its good but talk about selling out another band that abruptly changed *couphs lost society are one its sad*

We wish these guys nothing but success but we view this new sound as a betrayal to us thrash fans who lined up to support this band. Generic cookie cutter pop rock wasn’t what we dialed Shrapnel up for…good luck but I get off here gang. Much love.
I do really love the instrumentals and the screams, and some of the heat flair in the cleans, I think you've got this cool dissonance going on in the guitar, the tones are nice and crispy up in your face, it's got its own feel to it and it's really dope! I do however, agree with Aaron about the cleans, it's not my thing, they're too hard rock/og metal for me. They're NOT BAD, and I kind of like it it's just not for me, I think they're better when you add some heat to them and go a bit higher. I think you could try to maybe take some time to find YOUR true style along with the bands music, because I feel like the reason it's not for me is because it sort of doesn't fit the music as much, and like I said the hotter parts fit it a bit more. It took me a very long time to find my true vocal style but once I've found it dude it's dope it fits with my voice so good and it just comes natural to me, when I use it everything fits, the rhyming, the rhythm and melody structure, the tone, everything falls together easily and intuitively. Once you've found that, to where you impress yourself when you listen to it and it feels like your perfect style, when it feels MEANINGFUL for you to sing it, then you've found your true style.
The old saying remains true - 'Those who don't know their history, are doomed to repeat". Seems like folks at Shrapnel, and some other young bands, forgot what happened to myriad of thrash bands from 80s who decided to go "mainstream" - only few manage to succed (Metallica and Sepultura mostly, Pantera could probably count, but I dunno) and even then they had to face the fact that they split their fanbases in half, and that was if they were lucky. Meanwhile rest of them either went Splits-ville, or ate shit in sales and had to rely on old shit to survive. It also didn't help that most of the experimental stuff these bands released were sucking several appendages in rapid succession. Going for mainstream appeal ALMOST NEVER works, and instead of doing the Motorhead/Ramones route of consistency and slowly building up fanbase, you instead decided to go for a quick buck (and don't you fucking deny it!), hoping it'll pay up the bills. Oh, you might find some new "fans" who will enjoy whatever shitty genre this is supposed to be. But in the long run, it will only get worse from here. I hope it was worth it to chase away the fans who enjoyed a band that knew how oldschool thrash worked and wasn't generic crap like Warbringer, Gama Bomb and many others. Rest in pepperoni, your first three albums will be remembered, unlike this vapid goatshit.
Your first statement is a contradiction to your following point. We do know our history and were making sure we dont repeat. We move forward. We have since day 1. Enjoy those albums, you can try enjoy the new one if you like. Up to you.

Just discovered this song on Apple Music and can't find the lyrics anywhere???
This agony awaiting in your consciousness
Absence of light replaced the will to carry on
To build your world of blatant nothings to reap the iris
Is to hide yourself away from what's to come
Immersion suffocating
But nothing kills a strength like loss of sight
Untethered, weightless
Freefalling aimless
Distance between the soul and death is gone
Ties bind us endless
Pulled into orbit
In Gravity, you'll break the fear to run
Wrench your projections of your ether to material
Your vision's tunnelling into a depth unknown
The glazing eyes we lose to dreamscape ever-piercing
I won't stare back into a body no one owns
(Scott Kennedy)
You’ve met your match now admit where you went wrong
Determined to reach the end; a force to be reckoned with
Determined to make amends for what it’s worth
Don’t run from me
Don’t run from me
Untethered, weightless (weightless)
Freefalling aimless (aimless)
Distance between the soul and death is gone
Ties bind us endless (endless) (In Gravity)
Pulled into orbit
In Gravity, you'll break the fear to run
Don't run from me (Don't run from me)
Don't run from me
