It doesn't matter if I have 4,200+ hours in the game. Every time I am faced with a new build, it's always overwhelming, and I feel confused, anxious, indecisive. Where to build, how to fetch resources, how to layout factory floor, how to make it look nice, etc. It's terrifying. Every time. It doesn't change. So it's sometimes very helpful to step outside my head space for a moment, forget about design, efficiency, fault tolerance, aesthetics. Just give myself the permission to do a slab factory, to get familiar with size requirements, logistic connections, resource gathering, recipes, and so on. Then I can better think about more creative floor layouts and cool (non-slab, non-box) designs. I like that this video is straightforward, has chill music (a bit too short of a loop for repetition, but maybe a video creation vs music compositikn tradeoff, idk, not critical). I may not use any of the actual layout, and swap out the ingot recipes, and otherwise try to go wild with design. But it doesn't matter, it starts back at videos like this, which help me calm down, get familiar, and inspire me to make progress on my terms. But if anyone else gets really stuck or burnt out, just remember to give yourself permission to just build a slab factory now and then, whether you're 4h or 4kh into the game.
I enjoy your videos, thanks. I started my build by first building enough gift trees to fill a mark 5 conveyor belt, then added constructors and assemblers and later forges to have one of everything building, and they get dumped into industrial storage. Overflow goes to the sink.😊
Thanks for all the guides you do. They are always helpful. Slight miscalculation on this guide though, you have the last tree branch constructor running at 37.5%, making 3.75 tree branch per minute, creating a total of 33.75 tree branches per minute, however, the Wreath assemblers need 37.7 tree branches per minute. So the last constructor should be running at 75%, making 7.5 per minute.
You lose nice list points for not using the FICSMAS conveyor skin on your conveyor belts, or other decorative FICSMAS elements, but otherwise it's lovely. Thank you for posting this!
I have been really frustrated with the stability of the game. Has anyone else been struggling with it? Haven’t played in a couple weeks after having several crashes to desktop within half an hour the last 4-5 play sessions.
