I really liked The New 52 Superman. He reminded me of the Golden Age Superman. Caring, heroic, but he could be a little cocky, and he didn't always fit in. I found him more human, and relatable. Just my opinion.
Well, I hated him. We went from peak superman imo (Post Crisis) to an edgelord who is only defined by his strength. His stories were boring, he acted like a jerk, and he was sidelined or trash on in almost every single big event in New 52 (Trinity War, Darkseid War, Forever Evil, and Throne of Atlantis)
I LOVED the New 52 Superman's costume design, I'm disappointed they're getting rid of it. I was open to Superman and Wonder Woman having a relationship.
New 52 is my all time favorite version of Superman. Several things I loved about it. 1. Lara was a warrior 2. Krypto's appearance was a little different than the canine species on earth 3. Clark started wearing glasses as a teenager long before he moved to Metropolis 4. Clark's original Superman outfit was a pair of jeans, work boots, t-shirt and cape with his kryptonian family crest 5. Clark's brashness and power levels were initially the same as Golden Age Superman's 6. Clark's first employment with the Daily Star, then the Daily Planet, then becoming a blogger. 7. Kal's Superman outfit being upgraded to advanced, sleek, kryptonian armor 8. Kal's peak power levels allowing him to literally bench press weight equivalent to that of the Earth 9. The kryptonian god Rao revealed 10. Kal's mutation into Doomsday 11. Clark's beautiful relationship with New 52 Diana who was the God of War and the daughter of Zeus I wish that Post-Crisis New World Superman was not merged with New 52 Superman. If DC decided to restore the Post-Crisis canon I would have preferred that they would kept the New 52 universe separate and dormant.

I personally prefer Superman and Lois as a married couple and with his son Jonathan Samuel Kent aka superboy because that family is amazing and so adorable then Superman and Wonder Woman
New 52 Superman is a Superman I'm reluctant to at best, and dismissive at worst. The New 52 stories by Grant Morrison were promising, if a bit wacky, but when he left Action Comics, the writers had no idea where to take Superman and just became concerned in writing their own portrayals of Superman instead of delivering a single, more coherent narrative. Truth was, in my opinion, the worst attempt at character assassination since One More Day. There were good stories, like Doomed, Unchained and the relationship with Wonder Woman, but overall, I'm glad DC returned to a more traditional and classic version of the character in Rebirth. At the very least, New 52 Superman got to keep some of his dignity and merge with the classic Superman, creating a version of Superman that fans of both iterations could enjoy. The Bendis era has been pretty good so far. I don't know why people keep throwing shade at Bendis. So far, he hasn't delivered a major disappointment. The full story is still playing out, so I'll do my best to give him the benefit of the doubt. Bendis' signature joke-filled dialogue kinda drags the story down (he tries too hard to imitate Joss Whedon), but for the most part the story develops beautifully. Rogol Zaar feels generic and unremarkable and his history with Krypton would have worked better with another villain (Brainiac, Doomsday, General Zod), but I guess Bendis wanted so hard to leave his mark on the Superman saga that he decided the best way to do was introduce a new villain that no one have ever heard about before, even if he had history with Krypton. I'm still nervous for what will happen to Clark, Lois and Jon, but there is always hope they will be back together.

Isn't Hero Man what Superman should be? He was the first "Superhero" after all. Personally I think TV has conditioned us to want Superman the TV Action Drama rather then Superman the Comicbook Superhero. Lois and Clark, Smallville, and now Clark and Lois have redefined Superman outside of the Comicbook setting so thoroughly that that's how people feel Superman should be in all things from Cartoons to Movies. While Other Heroes get to evolve and change with the times, Superman has to stay the course because he's the Foundation the whole shebang is built on. Get him wrong and the whole thing collapses. My take is if your going to write him like a Boomer then Make him a Boomer. The guys practically Immortal so Make him be from 1938. An Old man who looks young who has to deal with a bunch of kids.
