Make a beautiful and simple Ponytail Scrub Cap that ties with ribbons.
I provide my patterns to you free of charge, but please limit their use to personal use, not for profit. Even just altering the words on the pattern for resale purposes, or taking my pattern and mass producing it constitutes Copyright infringement and is strictly prohibited.

How to get the free pattern:

My headband and side piece pattern aren’t matching up, gradually it becomes off to the point at the end it is a whole inch off. Any ideas why this might be happening?
Hello Laura! Did you try pinning or basting the pieces in place before sewing them together? Also, as you sew, you can try gently tugging the piece that is ending up shorter, to help them line up.

Nice. Easy to follow instructions. I didn't know surgeons made their own scrub caps. My son married a pediatric neurosurgeon and she had a couple she made by hand. She uses 1/4" gross grain ribbon. She has waist length hair. I'd like to try my hand at sewing a few. I sent you an email when you get the time please send the pattern. I'm buying one from your shop. Thanks

update: I got the pattern, and tried it myself. It definitely challenged me, but came out so cute!! The pattern is also very forgiving for little mistakes. I definitely made a few tiny mistakes here and there, but my scrub cap turned out great! Note to everyone trying this out: MARK THE NOTCHES (trust me it is very helpful)

Hi, if my fabric is one direction print, what's the fabric width and length I would need to buy to make one scrub hat?
Hello Azn,
I just saw this other message from you. If your fabric is one directional, I would get half a yard. Just because you'd want to cut the CAP TOP with the grainline running along the fold. So, you'd need the height of the CAP TOP, plus the height of the CAP SIDE, plus the 2.75" for the HEADBAND.
Also, to answer your other question, quilting cotton is always 100% cotton, but 100% cotton isn't always quilting cotton. :) Meaning, go with 100% cotton that is the same weight as quilting cotton, so, something that's not too heavy. :) And I would stay away from synthetics (like polyester, unless you're using broadcloth, which is a blend of polyester and cotton).
