Nice review Dr. Cliff. I've been wearing the Marvel version of these hearing aids (black) for about a year and love them. Especially for Zoom / Skype meetings at work. My insurance only covers HAs once every 2 years, so I won't be upgrading. Connecting to 2 different bluetooth sources at the same time would be nice though. Always enjoy your videos.

This was an informative video. I am due for new hearing aids and have been waiting for the next new ITE hearing aid. I currently have Resound Linx and do plenty of streaming. It seems Phonak would handle streaming better due to the Bluetooth platform it uses. Even though I have severe hearing loss I still prefer the custom hearing aids. I have to choose a manufacturer that has the UP receiver option. I look for sound quality for speech understanding and streaming capability, and attention to fit/feedback management. I have not seen any current news regarding improvement in feedback management and wondering if one manufacturer has better feedback control than another, of course fit is important. I will currently look at the Phonak Virto Paradise ITE version for my next hearing aids. Thank you Dr Cliff for the review of these hearing aids.

Very informative. I just made the switch from EARGO to P-70. I had EARGOS for the last 6 years.
I just ordered the P-70 in- ear model, so I will be able to give a comparison update of EARGO/PHONAK once I give the P-70 a whirl. One thing I know for sure is EARGO has a two year life’s span. I’ve had two different models and both lasted the same amount of time. THANKS AGAIN 🙌🏽

This makes things uncomfortable and I look like an elf. I see my Audiologist in a few days for other options. Thanks again.

Thanks for a great review Dr. C! I’ve been waiting for this one (and my audiologist is waiting too :). She took my impressions a week ago and is standing by. I’m ready to order the Virto 312 now. Interestingly she said that results from 3D scans are not quite as good and she ends up sending most of them back for a remake. So I don’t mind that Phonak still uses the traditional method for impressions.

    Dr. Cliff,
Love your videos! I’m currently wearing the Phonak Marvels and having many issues with them. I had to send the hearing aids to the the factory/repair about 12 times.
Since age four I wore hearing aids. The crazy part is to experiencing the different technologies through out the years. From analog to digital even to numerous channels.
My case is hard because I do not like to have any options such noise reduction, wind, speech clarity or even crowd noises. I ask my audiologist to turn them off.
The hard part through my life is deciding on the best hearing aids to my hearing lost. I am at moderate to severe hearing loss. I wore Starkey, Oticon, Phonak, and some others I can’t remember.
I currently work as an law enforcement. I’m in the process of getting new hearing aids. I was told by my audiologist during my hearing test with the hearing aids on. I had weakness to speech recognition. My audiologist stated my hearing speech recognition is something I will never get back due to my brain development. I’m not sure if that make sense to you. My audiologist believes with the new hearing aid from Miracle Ear might help. The hearing aid is equip with 2 microphone and is the premium technology (level 5).
Do you have any recommendations? Maybe something we share over Zoom or video chat? I would really appreciate your time to understand about hearing loss especially
    my case.
    Thank you

Just got my pair of Virto Paradise yesterday, and really shocked by how much larger mine are vs. the ones shown in this video. I know every person is different and there are a lot of variables but I’m a pretty big guy (6’0, 200) with big ears and big canals, so expected mine would probably be closer in size to the ones you got, Doc. However, when I first put mine in, I was convinced Phonak had made me full-shell models by mistake, but my audiologist assured me that mine are still considered half-shells. Unlike the ones you demoed here though, mine fill up a much larger portion of my concha. In fact, they are so big that Phonak didn’t bother putting removal wires on them like can be seen on yours, as it’s super easy to just grab the aids and pluck them right out.
Pretty bummed because other than size, my very early assessment is that they work pretty great. Don’t get me wrong, I expected them to be very visible for sure, but had hoped they would have a somewhat slimmer, more compact profile, closer in line with the ones they sent you. Alas!

      @barryalanlevine 6 месяцев назад +1

@@VLiviu I love mine. Have had them almost 2 years now and they are the best aids I've ever owned, by far, in terms of power and features. The only downside is how large and visible they are, but that's a fair trade off for the performance they provide, and I still prefer the large in-the-ear style to a behind-the-ear RIC. Not too long after buying these,I bought a less expensive pair of RICS from Costco, to wear on the occasions when having large black earbud style aids just isn't preferred (and also to have a solid paid of backup aids and a t-coil) and the RICs work plenty good too, but the Virto P90s are still better and thus the ones I wear most of the time. I'm inclined to say that I'd buy another pair of them when my current one is ready to be retired...or whatever (hopefully) new and improved version is available then.

A few questions - Are the Roger receivers build into these hearing aids by default or are they optional extras? I believe they are included by default in the Audeo line. Second, what is the average expected battery life for the 312 wireless model assuming you spend 8-10 hours/day streaming? Third, is the new app stable? In earlier versions it used to change the default saved program if any adjustment was made to the custom settings even temporarily.

Even after looking at your excellent videos - I am still so confused on all the different features and benefits of the different models of the Phonak Virto Paradise. The company web site is very confusing and worthless. In one of your videos you showed some charts that describe what each model has (and does not have) but I cannot find these charts. Can you tell me where they are located in the website. ALSO .... let me cut to the chase ... I want 1)the smallest or most invisable "in the ear" version; 2) Bluetooth / wireless technology; 3) the ability to control the Hearing aids with the Phonak Ap and the best directional hearing options. WHICH DO YOU THINK IS THE BEST OPTION FOR ME ??? Appreciate your excellent videos. I am currently doing a trial of an Oticon but do not like it and want something else. Thankks for your help.

I have from 2018 the Phonic Virto B90 Power CIC and am looking to get a new set of aids. The Paradise sounds interesting but am thinking of holding out for the potential Lumity which may come out at some point next year -- do you think it's worthwhile waiting or is it a big enough of a jump in the meantime? I've been thinking of trailing the RIC in the meantime to see if it makes that much of a difference for me but I've never been impressed by bluetooth tech in past trails and rechargeable doesn't work for my lifestyle (international travel 1-2 times a year, many extended working days i.e. 7am to 2-3am)

I've had it a little less than a week and have already been back for some adjustments. I'm understanding this type of hearing loss to be unique and challenging to help. Do you think this device is the right start for me? I must say I was hoping my hearing would improve more than it has. Any counsel would be appreciated.

As audiologist it's easier to adjust RIC hearings aids than CIC but it depends on the issues and your curve of hearing loss. So yes and no.

These hearing aids may be IP68 but they still risk breaking due to moisture. I had the B90 titanium and they would break every 2-3 months due to moisture (even if I kept them in a dry cup overnight) and that's without jumping in water. So, as a patient (not audiologist) I personally wouldn't recommend invisible hearing aids if that's the activities you'll be doing.

Some people find a full shell to be easier to insert. It also has to do with the size of a person's ear canal. If the canal is too small they may have to back the receiver out of the ear canal more into the shell which requires the shell to be larger.

I wear glasses and I just can’t wear bte hearing aids. I have a set of Audeo Marvels that live in their case. I am now testing some Virto M 312’s and they are just okay. Bluetooth is really bad and they are terrible with wind noise. Not to mention occlusion. Everyone tells me I’m talking too low. I get my hearing aids from the VA so my options are limited. It seems like the Virto P titaniums would be best but for me but I don’t know if they VA will allow that. I go in at the end of April to return the Virto M’s I now have that sit right next to my Audeo Marvels in this cases on my dresser. I’m an active guy and spend most of my time outdoors so I need water/sweat resistance as well as something that cuts down on wind noise. And since I wear glasses (plastic frames with rubber temples so they don’t slide) and have several pairs of sunglasses bte hearing aids are a no go. But the occlusion issue is also huge. I’m about to the point of just giving up and living with my substantial hearing loss. That’s less of a headache than dealing with hearing aids.

Wondering what your bad experience/issues with the Virto M 312's bluetooth has been? Most online reviews seem to point to the Phonak bluetooth connectivity being the best in the industry. I'm looking at potentially buying these based in large part on ability to stream calls from my iPhone and Zoom meetings from my Apple laptop. But if those connections aren't clear and reliable, I'd prefer to look for a better solution. Can you share more details about which devices you were connecting your Virtos with and what specific problems you encountered? Really appreciate any more details! Thanks!

@@barryalanlevine streaming audio is fine but phone calls are terrible unless you hold your phone right by your head. I had the same issue with the Audeo Marvels. I sent the Marvels in to Phonak and they rebuilt them but it made no difference. Apparently the Paradise line is better but I’ve all but given up. I’m outside a lot and the wind noise is too much for me. Not to mention that with my glasses and sunglasses the bte style is hard to deal with. But your situation may be much different. I quit wearing mine and tell people to speak up. I will say they’re great for watching TV as long as I’m not eating. The occlusion issue is really bad when eating. Good luck!

I realize this is a year later, but how did this work out for you? I'm in very similar situation, I can't wear BTE, and the ITE HAs I tried (ReSound Customs) make my speaking voice too low, which is a dealbreaker. If a smaller CIC/IIC like the Virto P Ti would address that concern I'd probably go for them but I don't know if the occlusion would be better or about the same.

I think having batteries is way smarter because u can change them at any time and never bring or worry about losing power. They molded my ear so they fit like a glove. No one has ever noticed that I wear them at all. My only obersvation is the batter hatch is fragile. It broke once but my hearing aids are covered for 3 years. Makes me wonder if it's possible to override the hands-free option when preferred, and switch to talking into phone mic while still streaming your listening audio to the aids?

I ordered the 90 with extra power. I have to say they’re not a patch on my existing Bolero hearing aids. The App is quite a chore to use too. Clever, yes, but it’s too complicated particularly for an elderly person. Using my Compilot I can quickly change Channels, and with a long press cut out background noise. The remote is also useless. It adjusts the volume OK but only returns you to the Auto channel plus only the last channel you were on previously. The hearing aids themselves do that!
I will be returning the whole caboodle to the shop shortly for a full refund.
My advice: don’t bother. Otherwise you will spend a lifetime messing about with the app on your phone.
