tldr: "deal with it lol"
It's fair, what can they do? How can you prevent people from opening a stream?(They could use another pc anyway) What can you do to prove people were stream sniping? please send your ideas to Riot lmao
@@raphaelantoine7331 Players have vanguard installed, which has kernel access to the PC. This means they can access *literally everything* on it. You can't think of any way to detect whether two players are in the same game, whether one of them is streaming and whether the other is watching?
You genuinely can't think of *any way* - with *complete* access to their PCs - to detect this?
If you genuinely don't see a way, then stop what you're doing and go do your homework: You *really* need it.
@@raphaelantoine7331 Right, somehow in high elo everyone knows the inters/wintraders/stream snipers but Riot just can't figure it out. When wintrading was going on 24/7 in t1's games and he made multiple videos exposing the accounts of the wintraders Riot didn't do a single thing, they probably didn't even see the videos because they just don't care not because they can't fix it if they wanted to. The moment you go in-depth into any of these issues it's not that hard to figure it out but you have to at least take the time to do it which they don't.
Streamers have hours to find who snipe them , riot doesn't have infinite workers, they need a generalized solution and easy to do
yea the removal of in game names makes sense but only in ranked and in nothing else
Riot Games is a bunch of psychopaths IRL.
They're so combative towards their own ideals it's not even funny anymore. They'll go on record condemning things like smurfing, stream sniping, boosting, etc. but when you actually confront them about dealing with these issues, they talk like abused housewives trying not to upset their husband.
I can't take a single damn thing seriously that this company of defects is saying. Any NORMAL person in this industry would hand out legitimate punishments for the listed behaviors, but they're so horny for money and playercount that they'd rather keep the worst trash of the community out of fear that they'll have no one left who wants to play the game.
Maybe because it is actually really hard to fix these things? why pretend like riot is just some incompetent company that refuses to fix things that would be simple
China
@@futsk01 That Communist money must be nice, nice enough to bankrupt the creative integrity of every riot games developer. Clown company
"We care about fair games."
"Remove fill then."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that would increase queue times and get people second guessing if they want to slave away in our game!!!"
Bro fill its okay, even more so in high level games, you don't want a 30 minute queue because people only want to play mid and adc, care to remind you that before we only had the "last to type gets support" that was hellish
@@DajuSarI can't imagine playing without pre roles.
@@DajuSarbro who tf are u, ask literally any high elo player and they will tell you fill is the most cancer dogshit imaginable literally everyone complains about it. Every game it's 5 people on role vs 3 ppl auto filled and 2 ppl on role, it's so disgusting. Maybe they'll fix it soon but they still haven't implemented their changes so we'll see but right now you're definitely dead wrong.
@@davidsantiago7808 The queues are already long enough in high elo, if they remove auto fill the queues would be 30 minutes in avg. Also they are high elo, they can live playing in different positions every 5 games or so. Also they are a very very very very small porcentage of the player base. Riot wants to comfort to the majority of players not the same 500 guys that queue into each other every game
@@DajuSar it was 30 minutes+ in 2015 it's still better than this system a lot of high elo players actually want a revert over this.
Sure they are only a small percentage of the playerbase you're right, however you spoke as if you knew what high elo players want. You can't say "High elo players want this" and then backtrack and say high elo players opinions dont matter because they're a small percentage of the player base lmao. Don't be stupid.
Why don’t they just ban players for stream sniping? Seems like an easy fix if they ‘don’t condone this abuse’
Very easy to tel from chat logs
Because banning after it happens doesn't fix the fact it did happen, that's the entire point, fixing stream sniping, not band-aid patching it after the fact and already ruined players experiences.
@@Chang-u6e then why ban anyone at all lmao, fix the toxicity, fix the botting, fix the inting, don't ban players when they do anything wrong because it's "already ruined players experiences"
me after the lobotomy
stream sniping is impossible to tell 😂
Ok but just stream with a delay then? That won't fix every issue sure but what does he expect? Tyler would lose his mind if he had to do a Forsen in pubg, that's just how it is
I think that could work, but if the delay is too short then it's useless, but if its too long you sacrifice chat interaction, which then lowers stream quality.
Doesn’t stop people soft inting them for fun
Blocking players would be abused for sure
How would it be abused? When it only blocks players from playing with you which can't be used to wt. DOTA2 already has this feature and the game is perfectly functional
He suggested having that option only for streamers so that they can choose who they don't want to play with without it getting abused.
@@yggreuyri5822 you block people in high elo and you cant get queue times imagine if everyone did that
In dota, there's a limit so you can only block less than 5 people, I don't remember the number exactly. You could increase it with (BP equivalent) but the cost grows quickly.
@@yggreuyri5822 Because you could block all the good players especially at late night que and only get into matches with the low inter bobs. So a very good player with like 70%~ wr in high elo would have like 40 min que times because the chances of him getting blocked by one of the 9 other potential players are very high. Late night que in high elo is basicly 90% same ppl every game.
disable all and every interaction you can possibly have with players so that 5 big streamers feel better about their experience lol
i usually dont mind t1 takes, but this removing everything from the game mental is actually so cucked
they already removed pre-game lobby names and what did that do? stop the sniping? lol
if you are that big, you either need a guy on the line who will manual ban or you just need to take the hit and only earn millions every month playing a game, while being schizophrenic, because you dont want to stream on delay
gg
since precovid 2019 era, to todays 2024, major companies experienced a big recession, every industry experienced this, even entertainment which is where most of federal budget goes, alot of them got bought by bigger ones, Riot isnt the exception, they are in big debt and came up with a $plan to save the game, debt is how the world works but this time was a time to not give a fuck about the customers since moves had to be done to recoup$, not excusing Riot cuz yea they are shit but well it is what it is
Ok, but this dev update is a joke really. It's like they're bloating about their solutions to known problems. But we know that it doesn't work like this.
You guys are delusional if you think that stream sniping is a huge issue sure it ruins "streamers games" but streamers dont make even 1% of league playerbase, if u don't want to be sniped during a stream just play on a 3 min delay...sheesh the ego of these streamers
people not being able to queue once they declined twice absolutely deals with the problem. If you absolutely dont want to get sniped just hide the client and queue up with a random 1 to 5 min delay and the problem is solved. But Tyler doesn’t want to do that and instead queues up instantly with the client showing on stream. In actuality its just not a problem, otherwise he would at least do the bare minimum to prevent it.
That’s what I was thinking… At this point I just think he wants to get sniped. Only thing that RIOT can do is give us the ability to “hide” our online status. But I think the streamer should not stream the monitor until the game is started
Doesn’t work when high elo queues are 10ish minutes people can just queue up as soon as he’s out of a game and have a high chance of getting in lobby with him and when you have people with multiple accounts queuing at the same time it’s even worse I guess he could wait 10 minutes to queue up and have a 5 minute delay I’m sure lots of streamers will gain viewers with 20 minutes between games and 5 minute delay since after all this about all streamers not just t1
@@hawktu2847 I mean thats a streamer issue, not a RIOT issue, they care about the integrity but what is the actual real solution you are thinking of?
If you dont willingly show your screen to thousands of people you wont run into this problem.
Nah i dont think thats his issue with it. His issue is that normal players que up see his name and open twitch... targetet snipes woth queing at the same time as him is prob a minority
thank god they focus on important things like allowing us to honour opponents and not actually fixing the game.
Well they're different teams for each thing.
And the team that is supposed to fix the game, balance & client is useless (Riot Phreak for example)
Streamers complaining about a problem they themselves created and want Riot to bend over backwards to fix it.
It’s in riots best interest to fix it. Streamers are free marketing. They and influencing people to play the game.
But also, how did streamers create the problem?
@@JoshAndrokio You think a few thousand viewers who are addicted to the game anyways matter for marketing? All League streamers combined make like 150k viewership on a REALLY good day. And the game has like 10M players on a bad day.
Most people I know who play League don't even know who Tyler1 is and some of them have barely heard of him.
Regardless people are not gonna "stop playing" or watching just because Big Tytty is whining about streamsniping (that's his gimmick, whining) If anything it's just more content for them to laugh at.
And streamers created the problem because this is a game of strategy and information and they're revealing their moves to thousands of viewers.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Imagine if Chess streamers complained about sniping when they're saying out-loud to the stream what their moves and plan is. Or Card Games streamers.
This is the gamer equivalent of having a spy in your army when you're at war. But instead of having a spy, you're just telling the enemy where you are, how many men you have and when are you going to attack in real time.
Even Jynxzi understands this and has banned players from his tournaments for sniping and cheating. He even plays off-stream for certain RUclips videos where he goes "undercover" because he knows his viewer tell on him. He doesn't complain with Ubisoft about his own audience, lmao.
@@JoshAndrokio RUclips removed my comment for some dumb reason.
So basically streamers combined barely make 100k viewers on a 10M players game so they don't really matter than much. Also it's their fault because they decide to reveal information to the other team, doubt I need to explain it that much.
How can it be their fault for playing the game? Thats literally all you need to streamsnipe, a streamer who streams and luck so you can get into a lobby with them. Even if they hide champ select, cover the minimap, people can still troll them and they will.
What you say is just so nonsensical its beyond insanity :DD
@@PimpythePurple yeah I saw your comment and came to reply but it wasn’t there. RUclips is ridiculous when it comes to removing comments…
I see what you’re saying, but it’s not just twitch viewers, it’s also all the RUclips impressions. I mean, I know 95% of LoL viewers are already playing the game, but a lot of RUclips viewers that have quit may get recommended a T1 video and be convinced to come back and try it out. It’s happened to me before. I quit LoL for like 5 or 6 years and randomly got recommended a pink ward video. Decided to come back and give whatever season it was a try.
It’s also about selling skins to the 100k average viewers. A streamer plays with a new skin, it may push a viewer in the direction of purchasing it, especially if the streamer plays really well while using the skin. I know it’s stupid, but it’s proven that players are more likely to purchase a skin for a character or weapon or whatever in any game when they see someone else using it and having success with it. There are studies on the power of influence of watching someone else play a game successfully and how these devs use that to try and push you into purchasing something.
Look at CoD. Their matchmaking literally prioritizes matching you with good players that are using skins for weapons you use, but don’t own the skin for in an effort to influence you into purchasing said skin for said weapon.
So, imo, I think stream sniping is probably a net negative for any game being streamed. If you’re watching a streamer play a game, and he’s having a bad time for whatever reason, you’re less likely to play that game or spend money on it.
With that said, yeah, I see your point about streaming without a delay. They could stream it with a delay and that solves the sniping problem kind of. Or hide their screen when they get out of a match and start searching at random intervals so snipers don’t know when to start their search. At lower ELO, it’s probably not an issue because of the number of matches being created. But once you get into super high elo, snipers become a much bigger issue. There are less matches being made, less players to put into matches. So, it’s much easier to snipe, even with a delay.
Then you have the issue of ruining the game for the other players in the game with the sniper. It’s not just ruining the game for the streamer. It’s ruining the game for everyone that is in that match.
Even Wildrift has a block system, certain number for 1 week.
Huge especially for higher elo with less player.
Ofc Can't block anyone to avoid long queue times and manipulate teammate randomness in higher elo thats why there's a limit.
I thought they were calling it toomi like a tumor, coulda sworn tarzaned joined the team for a sec
the chinese server more than ANY server should not have to deal with secondary and autofills idk wtf riot is doing. I still get 2 to 3 minute queues where I'm put blue side off role top put up against a red side top main WITH counterpick WITH higher average mmr it's bs
ban people for streamsniping doesnt makes sense, if a random wants to show his stream on the internet its his problem, put delay or something idk
It's not just that there getting into the same game they are ruining the games for the streamer no matter what. Very low iq take of you
Fuck are you talking about? If it was 1v1 sure but 4 other players now also have a lower chance of winning because of a situation out their control
Yeah its still the streamer's problem if anything they should be punished for not using delay and dooming their own team@@Joey-hb8sx
@@Joey-hb8sx Well that's the streamer's fault. That's why most don't like having a streamer in their game.
They're usually for-funning unga-bunga for content and also revealing the map to the other team.
Bro the guy on the right sounds so pretentious it's actually gross
Get a life
6:10 why are they talking like politicians?
If you choose to stream your games then you choose to deal with all the consequences that entails. Deal with it
I hate the name change idea. Hiding names in lobby already ruined ranked.
Have a name randomizer with an anonymous mode, other games have done this.
Name randomizer would be great or just showing champ names only pregame, post game and in game. Not sure why league doesn't have that or an anonymous mode since they have one in valorant
There are third party programs that find the usernames of opponents and tells you how to best play against them, they find the weak link on the enemy team and bully/farm them. You shouldn’t have any info on opponents before the game starts. Not their name, not their wr, and certainly not their play style and counter play options.
League should just use the Overwatch method. Just have a streamer mode option where it changes your username and tag with random one that changes every match.
As easy as that
removing names except for que partners is a great idea. Chat is stupid.
It should nearly completely remove targeted bullying/harassment (including sexual harassment).
Ngl the overwatch style block list would help A LOT, I think it should be for Partnered account but I do feel like it’d help
Great so now because of shitters tactical decline i cant turn down games to go do my laundry like just requeue
Whenever they don't know who tyler is, he hits them with "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM" so pretty funny take.
they literally could’ve replied to the tweets instead
Agree about the name hiding
No, he's right
Best alternative: Riot gives streamers a fake username in loading screen and in game but after the game it goes to the real one
best alternative would be for them to take care of actual problems that affect everyone, instead of 1% of playerbase. fix client, fix punishing griefers instead of chat users, hire actual humans on balance team instead of clueless losers who fuck the game up with their shitty balance decision for an entire season.
New fix for stream sniping:
If you fail 2 ready checks in a row your account gets perma'd.
Of only riot was actually good
Thats insane
i failed 2 ready checks recently because client bugged the fk out, froze and i couldnt do anything, and no, it wasnt my internet or pc, client has been frozing for multiple players. but ill give u that, it sounds like riot thing to do, to ban people because the game freezes/doesnt let you back into game/etc.
bro i swear league dev don't look at streamers in high elo, there's not one of them who doesn't complain about streamsnipe. It's even sadder to see that each of them is obliged to hide the champion select, the names or even the map. The devs are completely deluded in believing that a penalty of 12hwill encourage people not to streamnipe (kappachungusdeluxemaximusspecialedition)
What do you want them to do, exactly? Make it so streamers can't see other picks in lobby? Having an option to turn off minimap? Having an option to magically show that minimap only to the streamer? You can't do that much about ghosters and streamsnipers, it's just the negative side of online games.
The avoid list idea is good, but hiding names won't change a thing, the professional snipers© are always present on the stream and can see the lobby
So what? They are willingly showing their games to the public, there is just as much as RIOT can do to prevent streamsnipping, having 12h of queue pnealty definitely solves some of the issue, at least the snippers will need multiple high level accounts to snipe. What else do you want them to do? Just stream with a delay, deal with it. Poor streamer making thousands of dollars playing the game, getting snipped a couple games during stream, would anyone think of the streamers?
