這首作品是作曲家盧亮輝先生在國樂作品中，以「四季」為主題所創作的第一個國樂作品，該樂章完成於1979年1月26日，是作者於1977年至1986年間任香港中樂團全職樂師時，受香港中樂團委約創作的作品。全曲表現了對春天景色的讚美和歌頌，同時對未來充滿信心和希望。全曲共分三個部份：
I.「春晨」－先由弦樂長音顫弓方式，描繪出天剛破曉，萬物甦醒的景象，然後由古箏和揚琴以流水般的音韻引出春天的主題，表現了春天的芬芳和光輝的色彩。
II.「春遊」－以迴旋曲式手法出現，表現人們懷著興奮的心情到郊外嬉戲遊玩的情景。
III.「春頌」－以廣板再現了春天的主題，表現了對春天美好的歌頌和對未來的憧憬，充滿信心和希望。

Spring is the first movement of composer LO Leung-Fai’s “The Four Seasons” , a Chinese Orchestral piece based on the theme of the four seasons. The movement, completed on Jan. 26, 1979, was commissioned by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra when LO was a full-time musician with the orchestra from 1977 to 1986. It praises the beautiful springtime and conveys a sense of faith and hope in the future. The movement consists of three sections:
The first section, “Dawn of Spring” , sees string musicians playing long tones and using tremolo techniques to depict a scene at daybreak when all living creatures awake from sleep. That is followed by the smooth rhythm of Guzheng and Yangqin, which paint the brilliant colors and fragrance of spring.
The second section, “Spring Outing” , uses the rondo form to highlight the excitement of the people playing and strolling in the countryside.
The third section, “Ode to Spring” , lauds the beauty of spring and expresses faith and hope in the future.
